Elliot pov

I know she must hate me after what I did to her but it was also the only way I could protect her from Eric.

I arrived home and tried looking for her but she was nowhere to be found.

Eric suspected I had something for Mae with the way I was always around her so I decided to divert his curiosity. So far it worked but only I know how much it hurts each time I do something to her.

"Elliot do you have a minute?"

Jedrek asked from behind he looked somewhat overwhelmed and that was not his style.

"What's wrong"

I ask him taking the files from his hand.

"I was heading home when old Lombardi personally called me..."

"Is there a problem with the coffee shipment we made last week?" I asked him

Old Lombardi was the patriarch of the Lombardi family .our relationship goes way back. just a year ago one of my sub-company which produces caffeine started supplying him.

Thanks to our friendship our coffee is one of the best in Russia now.

"His daughter's name day is next month and he wants you to be there for obvious reasons."

"Mmmh....." I sighed softly.

Jedrek tilted his head trying to read my face.

"You don't have to go you know...I and Lizzy can go on your behalf beside he also invited her...."

"Are you still trying to woo my sister ...?"

I glared at him...

He staggered back as I unexpectedly alpha tuned on him

Before Jedrek met his mate he and Lizzy were in a relationship but right after he met his mate he left Lizzy and only I and my mother knew how she suffered.

Jedrek confessed to me he didn't want to see Lizzy's disappointed face that's why he left like that I knew he still loved Lizzy but I wasn't going to risk Lizzy going through that trauma again.

"Look Jedrek My sister is an adult and can decide for herself but don't forget I would tear you apart if you hurt her again..."

Jedrek blinked twice to calm himself he knows I only alpha on him when I am serious.

"Sure...I would be sure to not hurt her again...see you later.."

"I would be there make sure to call Joseph's assistant..."

I barely order him as he hurried off.

Mae pov

I arrived at the mansion and immediately ran to the lavender garden.

Lord Elliot scare the shit out of me I wanted to quit but after I got my last pay it was too tempting aunt Becky moved to Ontario and is finally settled in her cafe.

I decide to just work for four more months and with the money I can go back to school or start up my own business but whatever happens, I need to flee this place.

At first, I thought Eric would leave but he is staying longer than expected and quite enjoying messing with my life.

After that awkward experience, I wouldn't say I have been well rather lord Elliot has been acting strange sometimes he act like he can't have enough of my face cause I've got him countless times stealing glances at me other times he treats me like a piece of shit.

Its been three weeks since that Saturday morning and Indira like always was doing what she knows how to do best, make my life miserable I was returning the bowl of tomato sauce to the store when I saw lord Elliot leaning on the door frame of the store his gaze trapped mine and that's how I didn't see her coming she must have not to see Elliot cause after she hit the bowl down and everything poured on my dress she was startled by lord Elliot clearing his throat but I guess I expected to my much from him cause instead of helping he just yelled.

"I hope you are not blind, Mae?".

This will be taken from your pay Indira make sure Lance penalizes her."

Indira's facelifted she smiled at my predicament leaving I and Elliot, I looked so deeply into his eyes.

"Lord Elliot is there something I have done to deserve this kind of treatment?"

For a minute I forget he was my boss it felt like I was his equal with Eric it was different but with Elliot, it's confusing first I am weirdly attracted to him and second I also hate him and want to make him pay for all his done to me.

He glared back at me but not with the hate I imagined there was something else in those beautiful blue eyes that I couldn't read.

"Take care Mae...."seriously that's all he said and walked away.

Why in the world didn't he answer me...who does he think he is

It's barely two months and I think I've had it that is I am fed up.

It's quite strange Eric still hasn't returned to his house I wonder how his wife can let him be away for so long.
