Chapter 48: How can this get any worse?

'The finger! Where is the finger?' The cursed energy has completely disappeared. What am I going to sa-

I freeze.

'That kid is showing massive amounts of cursed energy but he didn't have any....what? Oh.'

It takes a second but the new cursed energy I'm feeling is eerily similar to the cursed object. A one in a million chance!

I jump on to Nue and call my dogs back into the shadows. 'This has to be dealt with quick.' I raise my hand and purple lightning spews from under me.

Nue's lightning bolt runs directly to where Itadori was. I quickly grabbed my phone and dial a familar number.

"What is it Megumi~"

"I need help. The cursed object has incarnated." This isn't the time to mess around.

"Huh. Well see ya soon!" Then he cuts off. Control yourself Megumi. Control yourself.

The smoke clears and I see Itadori shirtless and with black marks over his body.

"Immediate kill? Sorcerers must have grown to taste better over the years." The curse chuckles then suddenly shouts.

"WHERE ARE THE WOMEN AND CHILDREN!? I HAVEN'T HAD FUN IN AGES!"

This is extremely bad. 'It can already talk? Just what mission did Gojo give me?'

I summon my rabbits from the sky and they all drop onto my enemy. 'By infusing cursed energy inside the expendable rabbits I can explode them from a distance.'

I do just that. I stare silently as the explosions sounded like an army of grenades. Immediately, I jump off Nue and send it back to the shadows.

The air whips where I just was and a house breaks behind me. 'It escaped!' The curse is no where to be found, only its cursed energy implies it was here.

Before I cam make a move, a certain blind folded man appears in front of me.

"Need help?" I just nod as I notice a few bags in Gojo's hands. 'Control yourself Megumi. Control yourself.'

I brace myself only to realise that malevolent energy I was feeling has evaporated.

"Owwww. Am I schizophrenic? Th- AAA!

That's a normal reaction to someone teleporting in front of you. Gojo lifts his blindfold then laughs.

"You've fused with a cursed object AND you can control the curse in it? HAHAHA!"

"Uhh...

"Hey! That object in you is called Sukuna, can you switch with him?" Gojo's taking pictures all the while.

"I-uhhh. Yeah, I can." The kid's surprisingly taking all this well. "Will you be okay though?" The surroundings are completely destroyed.

"Heh. Ten seconds." Gojo sounds dead serious when he says that. Itadori nods.

An explosion of cursed energy comes out as the curse stares Gojo in the eyes (blindfold really) it then grins.

It races forward with a punch which is blocked by infinity.

"I'll make this a bit fair."

The curse grumbles then throws a kick that's easily dodged by Sensei and in response Gojo throws the enemy to the floor.

He then kicks it up and down like a football. 'Same as usual.' It's been three seconds or so.

The curse throws a slash (?) That rips apart the floor. Gojo only chuckles and punches the curse unconscious.

Within a few seconds the black marks disappear and Itadori comes back vomiting.

"You can deal with this right Megumi." And before I can answer, Gojo teleports away with his bags.

I look down at the vomiting teenager who just fell unconscious.

Control yourself.

.

"Ah! So that's what happened."

"Yeah. I'm sorry about the experience, Gojo sometimes forgets to hold back." Or maybe he just thought you were strong enough to handle it...

I nod at Shoko and leave the medical room. I'm alone until I see Maki on the ceiling. Training her strength as usual.

I sit down on a bench and watch her silently. 'Sukuna huh? Gojo will do something stupid again, not to mention the higher ups. This is tiring.'

"You know that Saitama recently got hit by an earthquake?"

"I know Maki. Too many 'natural' disasters have happened. A curse is at work."

"Yeah. No one knows what is though, not Gojo or mom." She opens her eyes and softly lands on the floor.

She looks at me and I know what she wants to ask.

"Apparently, the king of Curses has come back." Her mouth opens and her eyes sharpen significantly. Yet, no words came out.

"Gojo?"

"He knows. He hasn't told me how he'll deal with it." She scoffs. You think he'd change over something this big but, no, he doesn't.

"Spar again?"

"As if I have a choice." Her laugh resembles mother in a way.

We walk to the training grounds and I leap away instantly whilst dodging a strike headed for my face.

'Nue? That could work but I have to make space first. Then I'll summon...

BANG!

An army of rabbits come from my shadow creating smoke with their explosions. I turn and run before making hand signs for Nue.

I drop to the floor and dodge Playful Cloud.

"You really thought it was that easy? That mindset of yours....

Maki smiles warmly at me.

"I'm going to shatter it to pieces."

I jump in the air and Nue forms underneath me as I race to the skies. I move my hand down and lightning follows.

Maki is no where to be seen.

I look around and feel something touch my neck. My breath hitched in that exact moment.

"Maybe getting that deer will help, eh? Oh right, you're too lazy." She kicks me off Nue and jumps after me.

I tense myself and roll off the floor until-

"ARGH!"

"Sorry Megumi." You stepped on me, on purpose!

"Hey guys!" We both look to the left to see a smiling toothpaste.

"I've got a mission for you!"

A/N

Sorry! I'll do my best for faster updates and I wanna ask....

Should I skip all this and head to the culling games? I can write a summary chapter. Personally, I can write all this but I feel kinda unmotivated thinking about it.
