Ch.49 Life Goes On(2)

After hours upon hours of talking, singing, and dancing the party or the family get to get together finally finished.

It is quite enjoyable, and although none of us are tired due to having mana and our mana rank, since we were kids, our mother and Aunt urged us to go to sleep.

Well, we accepted, of course, after all from the looks on their faces they have things they don't want us to know.

"Good night kids."

Mother says as she smiles at us as we leave the garden. Nodding our heads at that we leave the garden, my sister goes her separate way after giving me and Ruby a glance.

"I should also get going, hehe."

Ruby says as she tries to run away, well like hell I am letting her do that. As she turns her body to run away I hold one of her shoulders with my hand and whisper in her ears.

"Where do you think you are going, Miss Ruby~."

Hearing my cold voice in her ears she freezes up as I drag her out of there, well she didn't show any resistance.

"Sorry."

She says in a pleading voice but I act like I don't hear it and continue to drag her.

"I am really sorry, Please forgive me."

She says as her eyes are filled with tears, she makes the most pitiful face possible and tries to plead her way out of this.

But, alas I am not going to lose to her so easily, ignoring her attempts to seek forgiveness I arrive before my room.

The door opens up as I drag her inside, and the door slowly closes behind us.

"Noooooooooooooo"

She gives her last cry for help, but alas she won't get any as there are no servants currently working and as for those who are currently working in the shadows. Well, they just work for us.

"I am sorry."

She begs for forgiveness again as she gets away from my grasp and comes in front of me, what a stupid move.

"Oh, are you now."

I say in a cold voice with my face as cold as ice, I take a step closer to her, and she steps back. This continues until she falls to the bed, then I pounce on her.

"HAHAHAHAHAH"

Her laughter fills the room as I start to tickle her, she cries for forgiveness but I don't give her.

"Haahah. Sor. hahaha, rryhahaha"

Her words do not come out of her mouth as it is drowned out by the laughter.

Just like that the night ended, I don't know when we fell asleep I opened my eyes to see her hugging me.

And as if on cue she opened her eyes and started to glare at me, with a pouting expression on her face she hit my chest but it didn't really hurt.

"Idiot!"

She grumbles as she stands up from the bed, I also stand up.

"Well, whose fault is that."

I say not backing out, after all, she is the one who started this.

"Oh, then what about all the pranks you pulled on me before."

She fights back as she gives me a glare, well I can tell that she isn't truly angry, she just wants to hear me say sorry.

And I have a feeling if I do so this situation will calm down, but will I give her the pleasure of hearing that? Nooooooooooo~

"Well, that is a matter of the past isn't it."

I say as I get out of bed and start to walk toward the bathroom, she follows me.

"Hump, Now, you say that. Do you really think I will forget that?"

She says as both of us enter the bathroom. Taking a toothbrush I give her the other.

"Well, you should do that. After all, there is no reason to dwell on the past for such minor things."

Saying that I put on the toothpaste on mine and her toothbrush.

"Well, you weren't the one getting pranked."

She says in a mushed voice as she speaks while brushing her teeth, well I do agree with her words but I also won't back down.

"Then shouldn't you be the greater person and forgive me."

I say as I also start to brush my teeth. I can feel her piercing glare, as those words leave my mouth.

After my words only the sound of us brushing follows as she continues to glare at me. After cleaning our mouths and washing our faces she says.

"Easy for you to say, but I am not forgiving you easily. Hump!."

Hearing her words, I perk my head up and look at her face.

"How, about two ice-cream for forgiveness."

I say with a smile as I pull two fingers up.

"Do You think--"

"Five ice cream."

"--I will be bought up--"

"Eight ice cream.'

"--By only that mu--"

"Ten Ice cream."

"DEAL!!~~"

She shouts in happiness as she hugs me, what was that about not forgiving me easily? Hahaha, girl, you are too easy to read.

And that's a problem... Hmm, I should talk to Aunt Ruri about this. After all, I don't want my friend here to be manipulated by someone.

Though, if that really happened... I should prepare and learn some torture-related magic. After all, never hurt anyone to be always prepared.

"Oh, by the way, Ruby aren't you leaving today."

I ask her as we leave my room, hearing my question she leans her body against me a little and says.

"Yes."

Her voice filled with sadness. Although I am shorter than her I pat her head as I say.

"Don't worry we will meet in six months. Plus after the academy didn't we promise to adventure together."

Hearing my words her mood visually lights up as she says with a smile on her face.

"Yes, we did."

She says as she gives me a kiss on the cheeks, I kiss her back as we walk toward our destination. Though time really flies by, I can't believe almost a week has passed since I recovered from my illness.

"Hey, did you see where that little bitch went?"

A man wearing cheap and dirty clothes asks in a gruff voice as he runs down a dark alleyway, his partner a baldheaded man replies.

"She ran to that side."

He says as she points in a particular direction, a creepy smile appears on the other man's face as he looks even more hideous with his dirty tooth out.

"That little shit really gave us a lot of trouble. That bitch, couldn't she be a little dumber."

He complains as they turn down that path, and the other man replies to his complaint.

"Well, she is a High-Human, we can't let her go. Plus boss said this much effort is worth it."

Hearing his partners reply the man just gives a quick glare as he grumbles again.

"Whatever, I should take out my frustration on one of those captured bitches. Hehehe, I can't wait."

With that, both of them are covered by darkness as they continue their chase, with the thought of bringing the same suffering to the girl, they had brought on thousands like her.
