Journey: The Destructive Incarnate

In the Stellar sea of stars, a giant tree stood, rivers made of countless white streaks flowed throughout its giant body travelling toward its root. Those rivers were made of souls going through the process of rebirth, but among those countless rivers, a certain stream travelled directly toward the stem of the tree. In that specific river, a soul flowed like every other; nothing special about it would have remained as such. Suddenly the space it inhabited collapsed as a brilliant golden glow travelled out of that distorted space. The soul unable to escape got showered by that golden glow, its spiritual body absorbing it. Unable to handle the magnitude of the power contained in the golden light, the soul started to tear up. But somehow it managed to absorb it all, but it came at a cost, as the single soul split into two, one being thrown out of that river. Passing through another river, it made its way toward the root, whereas the other part continued on its way. A soul who got the body to handle the power of the golden glow after rebirth but didn't have it, and a body that had the power but couldn't handle it was created. But fate works in mysterious ways as after the death of one body, the soul finally reunited making someone whole. Neo was the part that got the power but couldn't handle it, this gave him a fate worse than death. He couldn't use mana, in a world filled with mana and where the strong ruled. But his family didn't give up on him or shun him, so to help them even if a little he chose the path of a scholar. Knowing that he had the talent to be a mage but couldn't use mana always ate away his heart. Then on the fateful day when he was four, the soul finally reunited, becoming one. Ch.41 Plan In Motion(8)

Agh!

Moving my body a little, I open my eyes, that battle with Agni really took everything out of me. Although it is a powerful array, its efficiency is quite bad, plus the amount of mana required to maintain is also very absurd.

As my eyes opened, the image of my mother's smiling face appeared in front of me, she was gently patting my head while humming to herself.

"Oh, you are awake. My son."

She said in a caring and loving tone as she continued to play with my hair.

"Yes, how long was I out for."

I replied and then asked her a question, after all, I needed to find the backlash of using such a spell. So that I can see if it is battle-ready or not.

"For about an hour."

She answered my question as looked in front of her, I also turned my gaze to the direction she was looking a saw a completely burnt room.

<Frost Cycle-Time Reverse>

A mana amount so absurd that I can only sense a fraction of it got released by my mother's body, if not for her protecting me I would have died from this much mana exposure alone.

A clock made of ice started to form in front of us as the hands of the clock stopped ticking, then with a simple motion of my mother's hand the hands of the clock started to move in reverse direction.

And with that, the time inside the room also started to move back, all the damage that was done started to get reversed like nothing had happened.

"Quite Mana wasteful."

She muttered as she looked at the clock in front of her, which slowly started to dissipate, the room was now back to its past glory.

"Mother, which rank spell was that?"

I ask her, after all this is the first time I have seen a spell like this, a spell that can play with time itself.

"Oh, Son it is a Demi-God(Sage) rank spell."

She answered my question as she motioned her hand forward, a book started to generate.. well more like a grimoire as it had quite the ancient look.

"Here, this has all the spells that are currently known by the world."

She handed me that book, a book that most mages will kill even their family to get, with a casual smile on her face.

"Uh. thank you."

Giving her an awkward thank you, I took the book and put it in my space storage.

"By the way Mother, how long do you think it would have taken me to wake up if you hadn't healed me."

I ask her, after all, there is no way she didn't heal me after that fight.

"Let's see...Hmm."

She makes a pondering face as she tilts her head, and after a while of thinking she answers.

"About, six hours.. two minutes.. five seconds."

A very specific answer I will say. She must have used a divination spell of some type.

"Mother, did you use a divination spell?"

I ask her, after all, I need to make sure, after all, she could just be super good at calculating such things.

"Hehe, Bingo."

Saying that with a big smile and then laughing she pinch both of my cheeks.

Seeing her antics I also smile as I let her do what she wants with my body. After all, there is no use resisting.

"Neo, my son."

She calls out my name as she looks at my face, her hands have already left my body and I am currently standing and not laying on her lap.

"Yes, Mother."

I answer her call as I also look at her.

"Let's cancel the training for today, you should rest. After all, you have already strained your mana a lot today."

She says to me in a somewhat concerned and worried voice as she caresses my cheeks.

"Ok"

I simply reply, after all the amount of knowledge she has is more than me.. so if she says it is good to rest then she must be looking after my well-being. After all, she is my lovely mother.

"Good boy."

Saying that she stands up and embraces me in a warm hug, hugging her back I relax my body.

...

Walking through the castle I arrive in front of one of the various balconies in the castle, looking at the table and chair in front of me I sit down on one.

"Young Master, may I be of service."

A maid approaches me as she says such words and bows her head.

"Yes, Bring some tea, also tell the cook that it must be Royal Golden Life flavored. And bring some chocolate cake and salty biscuits as an add-on."

I order her as I take out the grimoire given by my mother.

"Understood."

Without bothering me anymore she says such words and leaves to fetch my order.

So with no one disturbing me anymore, I turn the page of the grimoire and look at the spell written on it. Although I won't use the majority of spells here it is still good to have some knowledge about them.

From the amount of magical spell knowledge I possess currently I at most can cast a spell up to the rank of "Mana Constellation."

However, that is only theoretical as I do not possess enough mana to cast the spell.

After a while the tea with all the things I ordered arrives as the maids put it on the table, I give them a nod and they give me a bow leave.

From sensing the mana I can tell that all the servants are leaving the area, so it seems she has arrived.

"Sorry if I kept you waiting."

The cheerful full voice of Aunt Ruri is heard as she sits on the chair next to me.

"Don't worry Aunt, after all, I had quite a time reading this grimoire."

I give her a reply as I show her the grimoire.

"Oh, that one. Alice really does spoil you."

She mutters and focuses on the things on the table, well more specifically the items lying there.

Pouring herself a cup of tea, she takes the aroma of the tea in and a satisfied look appears on her face.

"Ah~, Royal Golden Life. My Favourite~"

She says in a pleased voice as she sips the tea, taking a salty biscuit she takes a bite.

I also pour myself a cup of tea, although I am not a tea person like Aunt Ruri this is still a relaxing drink.

"So, I suppose everything went according to plan."

I ask her as I take a bite of the chocolate cake, my favorite dessert. Though there are only some food items I hate, it is even rarer for me to say something is my favorite.

"Yes, your plan worked wonderfully."

She replies to my question with a smile on her face.

"The things I asked for."

I say as I smile back at her, her smile becomes even bigger as she takes two photos out of her storage space.

The photo belonging to Agni and Sir Vayu, with a look on their face I have never seen. A good blackmailing material I would say.

"Hehehe"

I start to give an evil laugh uncontrollably as I look at the photos.

"Hehehe"

Aunt Ruri follows as soon as she hears my laugh. That's why she is my favorite aunt, after all in some way we have the same personality.
