Ch.34 Plan in Motion

With a punch on my face, I was thrown back to the ground again, with the amount of pain I am feeling I am sure that my nose has been broken.

Taking deep breaths I look at the figure of my father approaching me. He had an expression so cold currently that even ice may freeze over if he looked at it.

"Ok, that should be enough for today."

As those words left his mouth he disappeared from the place he was standing and appeared in front of me punching me in the gut.

"Bweeee"

Vomiting blood due to the strength of the attack I ragdoll back as I fall to the ground, I can feel my consciousness slipping by.

Damm, does he have to knock me out every time.

With that complaint, I fall into the embrace of darkness as everything goes blank.

Moving my body about I open my eyes as I look at the dark sky above me, taking a deep breath I stand up in a single motion as I move my body about.

All the pain I previously felt as if an illusion vanished as my body got back into top condition.

"You woke up faster than I thought."

My father's gentle voice is heard as I turn my head to look at him, he currently has a gentle smile, unlike the cold expression he had before.

"Yes, after being knocked out six times in two days I seem to have somewhat gotten used to it."

I reply to his words as take off all my tattered and blood-covered clothes, taking out a fresh set of clothes I wear them.

Doing a simple clean spell to remove any sweat and blood from my body I sit back on the ground again.

"Hmm, if you continue like this you should be able to break through in a month's time."

Father complimented me as he sat next to me and started to pat my head.

Simply enjoying his pats I nod my head as I acknowledge his words, after all when one is of lower rank it isn't that hard to rank up.

Though I can't help but remember the fight I witnessed this morning, even though Sister didn't use her full power as I expected, Ruby was still able to fight with her on an almost equal footing.

Although my father told me not to worry about how can't I, after all on a grander scale the mana quality and quantity make a huge difference.

As both of them are divided into ranks starting from- Normal then to Elite to Genius to Monstrous to Anomaly. With Anomaly being the highest.

And why are they important you ask, As simple as the words quantity say it defines how much mana one has in that rank. So an Elite rank will have a higher mana than a Normal rank of the same mana rank.

If the difference is high enough like that of Normal and Monstrous then even with being a major rank higher than the other the Monstrous rank will have the higher mana.

Although it isn't that important or hard to increase as it changes over time.

But the other Mana quality can make all the difference in battle, simply put a higher mana quality rank will be simply able to suppress the lower mana quality thus lessening its effect.

Even in today's fight, being the genius Ruby is, both of her ranks at Monstrous, though this information isn't widely spread as it can cause a massive shift in the balance of the world.

As for how I know, that idiot told me... I had to teach her and warn her against doing the same thing again.

That girl has too much trust in me,.. well I won't really betray her trust.. still, she should be more careful.

Anyway as I was saying the reason was able to fight against my sister Alicia is because her rank is lower than Ruby's being only Genius.

Well, I call only but having that rank is no small deal, after all, I have it and even a Demi-God rank like my father only has that rank.

So I should try to find a way to increase it.... hmm.... maybe my Core has an answer to this dilemma.

"Hey, did you get lost in thought?"

My father's voice broke me out of my thoughts as I saw him looking at me.

"Yes, sorry about that."

"Haha, don't worry about it. After all, I know how you are."

Father replies as he gives me a hearty laugh, but hearing his reply I can't feel any happiness... why.. simple in a way he called me an insensitive person.

"Ohoho, do you really think that father."

I ask him as I give him a smile whose meaning he quickly understood.

"Haha, of course, I think so., Son."

But even seeing my smile he didn't back down, as accepted by my father. But I am also not one to give up as my smile got even bigger as I spoke.

"Really?"

"Really, son"

He replied as he smiled back at me, there was a look of challenge on his face.

"I see, well if that's what you think I can't really do anything about it. But do be careful father... after all, someone might find some of your hidden secret."

I say as I start to stand up from the ground and stretch my body.

"Don't worry Son, I will be extra careful."

He replied as he also stood up, we both looked at each other the blue and the purple eyes staring at each other.

"Haha"

A small laugh escaped my father's mouth.

"Hahaha"

I followed him as I also laughed.

"Hahahahaha"

With that, only the laughter of two people filled the dimension, as for the meaning of those laughs... only those two may know it.

After having a laugh off with his father Neo made his way toward his mother's study room. The training with his father was as grueling as always.

But since it is advantageous for him in the long run he can't just stop doing it.

His mother called him from inside before he even knocked on the door. The door also started to open and without any surprise on his face, he entered the room.

The figure of two women greeted him, one being his mother and the other being Agni. He gave an internal smile to himself as he entered the room, and the door behind him started to close.

Now with this, his plans can move forward. The plan of getting Vayu and Agni together.

After all, he called for Agni's assistance not only for training his fire magic but also to move forward with his plan.

By now the situation on Vayu's side should be handled by Ruri, and with all the things he has done their defense is at an all-time low.

So he can't miss this opportunity now otherwise he may have to wait half a year before continuing.

As id sensed his thoughts Agni glared at him as a magic circle lit up under him, doing a backflip he narrowly dodged it as a pillar of fire extended from that circle.
