“Come on, Archie. We need to go, we have to fix this before it’s too late. I don’t know how to cut connections, Adriel has to help me.” What if he was sucking up Archie’s energy right this minute? Would he bleed like Gael had?

“Shh.” With a surprisingly strong grip on Gael’s wrist, Archie pulled him back down on the bed and wrapped his arm around him. “Five minutes won’t make a difference.”

Gael wanted to protest, but the warmth of Archie’s body had his muscles unclenching. “Are you sure?” They should leave.

“Positive. A few minutes of snuggling and a cup of coffee and I’ll be right as rain.” He didn’t open his eyes, but they weren’t squeezed together as if he was dying from pain.

Snuggling? “I didn’t take you for the snuggling kind.”

Archie smiled, and it stole Gael’s breath away. If he had to choose between breathing and watching Archie smile, he’d pick Archie’s smile every day of the week.

“I can snuggle…I think.”

Gael nestled closer. “You think?”
