Jack-of-all-trade, The Skill Borrower

Warning I lost most of my work for this, just the writing would have sucked but I also lost my huge amount of planning and its too much work to try and rebuild what I was writing, so I’ve stopped writing this and started a new novel. It’s very different from this one though, but if you’d still like to support me it’s called “For I will be the war Empress.” I am a student though so posting stories won’t really be on a fixed day but I’ll try my best. 01 15 - It May be a Game, but it Has Life

It took me around an hour before I finally got out of the forest with my new,, well I guess pet? A small baby wyvern that suddenly attacked me the first moment I left the castle gates.

Other than the rough meet, me and leaf got pretty close and along the way it got better at flying. Though it'd still bite and chew my finger when ever it clung to my hand.

"I still don't know your gender, and I'm pretty sure you don't even know the difference."

I mumbled as I moved my hand up and began to poke it's neck with my finger before pulling away just as it was about to bite me.

The more I walked the less and less trees there where until finally it was just a bright shine, then the scenery of a beautiful grassy field with large boulders, as big as huge trucks.

Leaf was fast to jump off and play in the grass, and the only way I could see the tiny thing was when it moved, making the grass move as well. I just let out a tiny laugh before continued to walk.

"Alright, we just have to keep heading North east until we hit somewhere."

Truth be told, I should have bought a compass so at least that way I knew where to go if I ever went off course, but it should be fine. Right?

The scenery was beautiful, the grass was green and there where mountains in the distance, that also had green grass on them. There was a soft windy breeze that would occasionally go bye, and while I was trying to admirer the beautiful and natural scenery before a small wyvern started jumping up ahead chasing a butterfly, trying his best to bite it and he looked like an angry chihuahua.

I couldn't help but start wheezing as Leaf was literally like a dog but, a mix of a dragon. I had to hold my stomach from laughing.

"Ah shit- you're adorable."

I had to wipe of some tears that got out from me laughing from leaf's face. I went to grab it and it went back to my right hand, but then it began to climb up my right arm until it was on my shoulder clinging onto the cloth of my armor.

"you must be feeling pretty tall huh?"

I chuckled before Continuing to walk while looking around.

"what am I supposed to find? Or do I have to keep looking around?"

I grumbled while continuing to look around before finally pulling up the settings and opening the quest log.

.

Main Mandatory Quest: The borrower's descendant

Quest level: Legendary

Chapter one - Quest completion: 45%

Second Quest - Find the lost diary of the hero

prize: receiving the hero's will.

Info: With finding the sun pointer that showed the way to the Northern East pointing to the jack's shrine. The shrine has one significant looking marking. A beautiful pink cherry blossom.

.

I stared at it grumbling a bit. Even though there was more now, It wasn't enough for me to just figure where that "Shrine" is. I looked around before finding the a nearby stick and sticking it to the ground and then looking towards the mountain.

"With this stick I can come back and figure out where the North East area is."

I nodded to myself feeling somewhat smart before grabbing a snack. Grabbing some pork chops to give to leaf then walked around the plains. The plains would have some spruce trees time to time and there were the boulders, Some looks like they were natural, while other's looked like they fell from the mountains.

Though for them to reach this far, it probably meant there was some type of explosion. I stopped mid track before my eyes shined a bit, maybe that's where I have to go, to the mountains. It would make sense to make a hidden shrine there too since most would most likely not go there unless it's for monster hunting.

I nodded to myself feeling smart before running back to the stick I placed. Luckily the forest was behind me so the only mountain parts in front of me is where I had to go.

"What time is it?.."

I looked at the menu to see it was 10 am now, jeez I'm surprised I'm not passing out or anything. I can't help it though, I just want to see what happens next. I'll have to get off at some point to go visit my mother, there's no point sleeping now.

Leaf kept wiggling around and going all over my body like a mad man before finding a pocket near my chest, which I didn't even know was there, but it settled in and went on it's own choice. I took a deep breath before heading off towards the large mountains. Next destination, Non Vitae.

It took me another hour before reaching the base of the mountains. It was a long walk, but it was also due to the fact that Sparth Plains would have sudden cliff drops from out of nowhere.

Through out the journey, Leaf just stayed sleeping in my pocket while I had to fight random beast that were living in those ravines. Some where like the head Eaters back in the caves, There were the Mias, Abnormally large snakes that matched the rocks so well with their rocky like skins and dark colors that I almost died who knows how many times.

Though the revines weren't the only bad areas, at some point, Griffins, Large animals that have the upper body of an eagle and the lower half a lion with the eagle claws, would swoop down from nowhere and attack. The only way you could notice them was if creatures around you would start running or the loud screeching sounds they make when they're close to grasping my body.

They were beautiful creatures, white and brown colors, but they were 5 times much bigger than me to the point I almost peed myself. Those were the bad things of being in a virtual game where it was hard to figure out if it was real life or not, the griffins felt so real, with them swooping down creature a gust of wind to fly by, it was cool yet scary. Most I fought off, but the Beasts that I had no choice but to fight got me to level 28 at least. Though seeing how much EXP they gave me, that must mean these monsters are higher leveled, at least over level 18.

I looked up at the huge mountain in front of me, I was in a valley, or at least about to enter it. It was clear where I had to go, the huge mountain that resides in the middle, it was the largest from all the other ones around it. If I had to start looking somewhere, it would be there.

leaf finally woke up after it's little sleep, flying high up into the sky looking ever so confused on where they just woke up at. it took it's spot on my right hand, wrapping their tail around my wrist to hold on.

"Well hi, new place, were at the Non Vitae. If I translate that correctly that means there's no life here, but I have an eerie feeling."

I mumbled while looking around. I think leaf can feel it too since I can feel it's head twitching and looking around as well.

"it feels like something's watching us.. but let's just keep going."

I continued to walk through the valley, but then there was a sudden drop, I had to go to one of the mountain side roads, so I went with the left side. They were pretty thin, barely enough for a horse to walk through. I stayed close to the walls of the mountains as we walked. The closer we got, the smaller the road was, until halfway through, we reached a flat area on the mountain.

"Should we take a break here?"

Like it knew what I said, Leaf flew out of my hand and looked around at it's new surroundings. I made a small campfire as the higher we went, the colder the area was. I grabbed some cheese and meat, and began to eat, Leaf coming down to get their share of meat.

After around 10 minutes of taking a rest, my stamina went back up and it was back to walking up the mountain. In the corner of my eye, I saw a large spider walking across. I looked over to the other side of the mountain, there was a large spiders, head eaters and it was a pack.

"alright.. even though there's a deep ravine between us, lets get going leaf."

the wyvern went back into the pocket on my chest as I hurried off basically running to the biggest mountain.

"No life my ass!"

I grumbled as I hurried off to the mountain.

Panting gently, I finally reached the mountain. There was a flat spot on the side like the rest area I sat down at. the mountain was tall, and this flat area was in the middle of the height of the mountain. Then there was a cave, there were many holes actually, small caves and big caves on this mountain. I decided to start walking into the largest one.

It was dark and I could barely see anything, I kept my hands close to the walls as I continued to walk forward, then suddenly a voice called out to me in a low tone.

"Stop walking so loudly."

It was ahead of me, in a whisper but loud enough for me to hear. Yet I was so curious on who it was, that I spoke louder not getting the clue that I should be whispering.

"Where are you?"

There was a silence but I could hear my voice echo. Suddenly leaf popped out of my pocket and bit my neck making me flinch, it looked like it was trying to make me turn away, and then I realized exactly why.

Red glowing eyes a meter away from me stared at me. Then I watched it slowly go up, and a large animal's body begin to glow red, red as fire. It was as big as a truck or maybe even bigger. It spread it wings as a huff came out from it's nose, flames then smokes. It looked mad, really mad. It was a dragon.

"Run!!"

The voice I heard shouted as a man came from behind the dragon's leg and ran to me, grabbing my arm and pulling me away.

"You're an idiot!"

The man said and looked back before we both had the same exact surprised face.

"Y-you-"

We said at the same time before my voice over powered his.

"You're that damn fraud!!"

I shouted as the man just pulled me away. It was that damn merchant that gave me the unlucky armor!

to be continued...
