Warning I lost most of my work for this, just the writing would have sucked but I also lost my huge amount of planning and its too much work to try and rebuild what I was writing, so I’ve stopped writing this and started a new novel. 01 16 - Unfortunate Events can Turn Lucky in the End

"Be quiet and just hide!"

The man said as he pulled me to a nearby hole that was much smaller than the dragon's den. He covered his mouth to make his breathing quiet as I just copied him. The cave was big enough for us to stand and deep enough to move further away.

The dragon was close by, flying up into the sky and roaring loudly in anger. I looked at the man beside me before punching his arm.

"Why the hell would you give me armor that's clearly cursed?!"

I angrily whispered, mad but can't really be loud since it might catch the dragon's attention.

"That was because you were stupid enough and I had to get money somehow!"

We were bickering for a while before the sudden scream from the dragon made us both jump and we both just stopped talking and covered our mouths again. Then there was silence again, he began to walk towards the opening slowly to check outside, the dragon was now up higher above keeping guard of the mountain.

He went back to with a small sigh. Taking a deep breath before speaking.

"okay, I'm sorry alright? Though it's also your fault for just putting it on without checking."

I felt my eyebrow twitch as Leaf went back into my pocket.

"It was hidden!"

I shouted before he quickly covered my mouth.

"okay okay I'm sorry! Just don't get us killed!"

After a moment of calming down I sat on the floor in across from him as now we tried to figure out how exactly we'd get out of this mess.

"If only you listened and stayed quiet."

He mumbled and I just looked away, even I knew I was at fault for that one. He stared at me for a moment before reaching his hand out.

"Names Less, I'm a merchant player."

I stared at him back before shaking his hand quickly then letting go.

"I'm Gihyuk, Knight."

I just decided to go with that since I did have knight skills, I just didn't know what would happen if I told someone I had a Legendary skill, especially since that PK almost killed me.

"Let's just be friends now okay? Help me grab some of the dragon's treasures then I'll give you some money too okay?"

The moment money was included, I couldn't help but listen, moving in closer a bit.

"Fine, It's not like I can do anything about the armor anymore, What's the plan?"

I asked him as he stood up again to walk to the opening, looking out to the dragon. The light let me see his looks clearer. He was tall, maybe around 6' and had green long hair, but from the front you can't really see the long pony tied behind him. He barely had armor on and just looked like the typical merchant.

"While it's busy up there, we'll go back into the den and grab the stuff then just run for it alright?"

I nodded and stood up, walking towards the entrance as well to figure out where the dragon was.

"Let's go when the dragon circles to the back?"

I told the other and we agreed that was the best plan to go with. We waited for a moment, and once we saw the opportunity to go, we rushed in there. It was dark, but after letting my eyes adjust, the items scattered around the cave was clearer now.

"Just grab whatever looks like gold."

I heard him speak from behind me before walking to the other side of the cave. I started looking around, putting whatever I can into my inventory, until I noticed a something white on the ground. I moved closer and started to feel around it. It felt like marble, and there were hinges.

"hey I think I found a door?"

I spoke loud enough for there to be a small echo, making us panic for a moment, but there was just silence outside of the cave.

"Shush.. Let me see."

Less came over to see what it was, Leaf getting interested and jumping down to check too, but the other male didn't see it so when he felt something with wings while trying to figure out how the door was, He let out a loud surprised scream causing there to be a huge echo, then followed by the shout of the dragon.

"What the hell is that?!"

He shouted as Leaf went back to me, going on my shoulder, angry that a stranger touched it.

"it's my companion, but don't worry about it now! Hide!"

Now it was my turn to grab the other male by the arm and pulled him behind the mountains of treasure. We could see the dragon swoop down and in, huffing as it's glowing fire skin lit up the room. We were still by the trapdoor so now it was more visible. It had black markings, the same black cherry blossom as the pearl and fit the description the quest had.

"We have to go in there."

I whispered to Less as I tried to move closer to the trap door. Getting a better look and seeing there were markings that looked like fire swirling around the cherry blossom marking.

"Are you crazy? You're only level 28, if it catches us were dead!"

I looked back at him confused, how did he know what my level was?

"What?.. oh- I have an Analysis skill."

My eyes widen, finding two things I needed in one go, nice. Killing two birds with one stone.

"It's not like we can just run past that thing. Plus, I think I know what to do to open it."

"Just stay there okay?"

He tried to stop me, but I stood straight on top of the trap door with my arms wide open.

"Over here you over grown lizard!"

I shouted to catch it's attention, the angered eyes of the beasts was now on me. I stood there as it began to open it's mouth and I watched it's throat slowly light up and heat up, it was about to blow fire at me.

"Run idiot!"

The male said but I waited a bit more until I saw fire come out of it's mouth and I quickly ran to the side far from the impact. A part of me just got a little curious and decided to use the Skill Borrow on the dragon's breath.

"Use skill Borrow."

A small window popped up but I moved it out of the way quickly to avoid being toasted to death. Looking back, the surrounding treasures were burnt. Less looking so devastated on this fact but the trapdoor looked like it lifted up.

"quick! Help me open it!"

I shouted as I ran back to the trapdoor, pushing the door, almost burning myself from the heat and the other guy hurrying to help as well. We pushed fast enough before the dragon could attack again. Closing it up just in time as I saw it's fire breath coming towards me.

We were in a low dimmed tunnel now, panting a little as we had to stop and just think of what just happened.

"You're crazy."

Less said as I chuckled then walked forward.

"Where even are we? Why were you so interested in going in here?"

The green haired boy spoke as I continued to walk forward, keeping my hand against the cave wall to stay on track.

"My quest pointed me to the mountain, so I thought it had to do something with this."

Before the other could ask anymore question, I started to run as I saw a brighter light, until we reached a huge room. As big as a church.. well because it was a church, or at least it was the shrine mentioned on my quest.

The place was covered in white marble, In the middle was a circle area, moving down and in the middle was a large cherry blossom, still in full bloom.

"wow.."

Were the only words to escape my lips as I looked around, Leaf flying off from my shoulder and to the tree to play.

"What is this place?"

Less spoke behind me before running off to explore the other areas.

I walked down to the tree, looking up to see exactly where it had it's source of light from, and it was from glowing cave stones, like the ones back in the caves I went to with Lisa and her team. It was beautiful.

At the bottom of the tree, there was a bench and the closer I got the clearer I saw what was on it, it was a book.

"The Diary!"

I ran up to it and sat down as I opened the book and immediately began to read it. It was like a normal diary.

"I leave this to the next generation who has this power, I can only hope that the next generation is the one who saves the world rather than cause destruction. Power is a lot of responsibility after all."

I had to keep swiping petals off the pages as Leaf was above me jumping on the branches which made the petals fall.

"My journey was not easy, being someone who can take other's skill doesn't necessarily mean I can use them without being hurt. That's why in the next country, go to the magic tower, I;m sure they have a device that will help you."

After reading it out, a notification popped up.

"I was an orphan, and being a hero, I wanted to help other children and donated all of my money to charity, I leave you this compass to help you find your way whenever you're lost. Don't lose it, you'll need it."

I stood there in shock. Holding the compass with a tight grip as Less walked down behind me.

"There's nothing good here, it's basically aban-"

I cut him off with a large scream.

"What the hell?! He was just broke too in the end!!"

I shouted angrily before putting the compass into my inventory to avoid losing it. I was just grumbling like a child while Less and Leaf stood there highly confused. Then a new quest window popped up.

I continued to grumble a little bit before walking pass the other male.

"Lets go, oh also add me as a friend."

He seemed to still be shook, but added me as we walked and found a tunnel that would then lead out to a safer path that lead back to the capital. There was silence before I gave a slide glare to the other male.

"You better not run from me this time, I have questions and I need your analysis for it."

The other just nodded as I stopped mid track and just went to the side of the path which was getting greener since we were getting closer to Spaths plains.

"I'm logging off here, its past 1pm and I have to go somewhere. I'll see you later."

I waved at him as Leaf went on my lap, then went off to go to Less.

"oh- I guess it likes me."

Less spoke as I nodded.

"If I find leaf gone from you, I'll kill you."

I spoke before waving goodbye to the slightly scared man and soon the view went white. I was going back to reality.

The light slowly adjusted and I slowly got out of the machine, looking a bit sad. I spent so long in the game that I forgot what reality really was.

"Well, It's okay, I need to go visit mom now."

I spoke to myself cheering myself up, as I went ahead and got ready.

To be continued...
