chapter 7: Sweet 16

(Amiee) It seemed like only yesterday we all sat here at the table as a family. But it's been like 3years since my parents got divorced and here we are today eating breakfast for my 16th birthday with the exception of a new husband and wife to add. But it hasn't been all bad, I really like Tom and Sandy. They actually turned out to be great role models and I can't say that about all step parents. I've seen my school mates talk about their step parents and they aren't so great. So I got really lucky in that department. When it comes to my sister and me, well it's been ok for the most part. We fight alot, and she likes to imbearess me in front of my friends and the occasional boyfriends that come around. Anyways my "Sweet 16" birthday party is tonight at 7pm and dad and Sandy promised to take Ashley to the movies and dinner so shes outta the way. (Dad) Amiee, hello in there. Are you day dreaming again sweetheart? (Amiee) What? oh, ya sorry dad what were you saying? (dad) I was asking if you like to go shopping after breakfast and get a new outfit and hair done for the party tonight? (amiee) Yes! definitely! that would be awesome! thank you so much daddy, I love you. (dad) Alright got get ready we leave in 20 mins. (Ashley) Can I come dad? (dad) Sorry Ashley , Aimee gets this bonding time this morning it's her birthday. Then later is our time okie dokie. (Ashley) Ok. (Amiee) Alright I'm ready to go. Bye mom, bye Tom, Ashley.

(dad) Alright where to first hair or clothes? (Amiee)Clothes of course, don't wanna mess up my hair trying on clothes lol. (dad) Clothes it is then. (Amiee) Finally! this is one! it's perfect. (dad) And it only took you about 2 hours to find it. (Amiee) Well dad you guys did take me to the mall, I had to check out all the stores before deciding. (Sandy) That's a girl for you, can't say I blame her. (Amiee) See dad even Sandy agrees me. (dad) Oh, I see you both are gaining up on me. (Amiee) lol maybe. Alright now time for my hair. (another hour later) (dad) Well don't you look fabulous! (Amiee) oh I know, just wait til prom. Its probably gonna take even longer to get me ready. (Ashley)Hey Amiee (Amiee)hey Ashley, hope you have fun with Sandy and dad tonight. (Ashley) I hope you have fun at your party tonight, you already look great. Is your boyfriend coming? (Amiee) awe thanks sis, and yes he'll be here. (Ashley) Well it shall be the highlight of the night wish I could stay. (Amiee) Well maybe another time. (dad) Ashley lets go! Its 6:30 movie starts at 7! (Ashley) I'm coming! Well see later, happy birthday sis. (Amiee) Thanks, see you. (mom) Alright foods all ready, guess should be arriving anytime now. (Amiee) Great! Remember mom, Tom and you promised to stay in your room tonight. (mom) Yes of course atleast til cake time an hour after party starts. (Amiee) ok then you guys are gone again. (mom) Deal.

(Doing doing.) (Amiee)Alright there here bye mom, bye Tom. Katie you're the first to arrive. (Katie) Well of course, that's the best friends job lol. oh look some more people. (friends)happy birthday Amiee. (Amiee) Thank you, come on in. You can set those over there. (an hr later) (friend) Hey what happened to the music? and the lights? (mom then others) Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Amiee happy birthday to you. Blow out the candles and make a wish. (Katie) What you wish for? (Amiee) Now if I told you Katie it wouldn't come true. (mom) Alright who wants cake and icecream? (Amiee) Alright now that everyone's served, its room time right mom? (mom) that's right, behave yourselves love you. (Jimmy)I thought she'd never leave. (Amiee) oh Jim, she's my mom they do that lol. (Jimmy) Ya but now that she's gone we can have some fun. (Amiee) Weren't we already having fun dancing? (Jimmy) Well ya but we weren't exactly making out, it's your sweet 16 b-day party. (Amiee) Ya, well maybe another time theres more than just you here tonight. (Katie) Hey Amiee, Jim ready to open presents Amiee? (Amiee) That sounds great right about now Katie. (Katie) Looks like theres one more gift under the table. (Amiee) Where that come from? To Amiee from Ashley. Hmm, well let's open it. Ahhhhhh! What the heck! what is this gunk? (Jimmy) hahaha (Amiee) Jimmy it's not funny! It's all over my hair and new dress! (Katie) Girl, that's honey and pudding those jumping snakes are covered in it! This time atleast the snakes were fake unlike that camping trip a few years ago. (Amiee) What was she jealous, I didn't invite her!?! Its like everytime I think she's done pranking shes not. Well just wait, I'll get her when she atleast expects it. She'll never see it coming. It may be months or years from now, but she won't have a clue.
