chapter 8: Prom

(Amiee)Well here we are, I'm finally 18 Prom is next week and graduation next month. I'm so ready to be outta high school! (Katie) Outta high school or the same school as your sister? (Amiee) Well Katie both, but mainly the same school. I got use to being in a different school than her. But since shes a freshman durning my senior year, shes just been in the way and flirting with guys our age that isn't cool. Like who does she think she is? Then she pulls these pranks in front of my friends, slips things into my locker and thinks shes funny! (Katie) Well Amiee, remember your "sweet 16" did you ever decide on a come back on that? (Amiee) Well since you brought it up, yes I have. I've been saving money up from birthdays, Christmas, etc for the past couple years actually since my parents got divorced just incase I wanted to see my dad and he wasn't in country you know. Anyways I wrote it all down in here, read this. (Katie) O.M.G Amiee! You really hire someone to build that? (Amiee) Oh it's mostly plastic with a life like wet suit. (Katie) But how you gonna pull that off? (Amiee) Well we're going on vacation this summer to Florida, the rest is history. Come on Katie, let's go dress shopping. My dad gave me his credit card all he ask for was the receipts. (Katie) Sweet! your dad's so kool! (Amiee) Mom, Tom, Katie and I are going to get our prom dresses! (mom) Ok be back by dinner time. (Amiee) We will. Mall here we come! (Tom) Hey Ashley, what you doing in your sister's room? (Ashley)oh hey Tom, I let Amiee borrow my pen I was just getting it back. (Katie) So Amiee after the ultimate prank on Ashley, what do you think she'll do? (Amiee) Ah, who cares. I plan to move out in August and go site seeing for a year, then start college the following year. (Katie)But when you come back to visit, don't you think they'll be something waiting for you? (Amiee) Oh, probably that is if I come back long enough for her to. Or maybe I can get a bodyguard. (laughing) (Katie) lol you may have to. (Amiee) So I can't believe Bryan and I are going to prom together! (Katie) Well you only been crushing on him since middle school and you guys been together for 2yrs now. (Amiee) I know that Katie, but it's still a dream come true. The football star jock and then theres me the leader of "poetry club." (Katie) And yet you two look amazing together and make heads turn. (Amiee) lol you got that right. (Katie) Oh try this one on Amiee, it's gorgeous. (Amiee) And you try on this one. Hmm, how bout this one? (Katie) Now that's the one! (Amiee) Sweet! now we both look amazing and ready for prom. Alright Katie, I don't trust my sister so I'm keeping my prom dress at your place and I'll just get ready here. (Katie) Sounds good to me. See you later. (Amiee) Bye Katie. Mom I'm home, what's for dinner? It smells great what ever it is. Well this week went by fast, I'll be over in a little bit bye. Hey mom I'm heading over to Katie's to get ready. (mom) Ok make sure you swing by before heading to prom, so I can get pictures of you girls and your dates. (Amiee) Yes mom, we will. (Katie's mom) Are you girls almost ready? Your dates will be here soon. (Katie) Yes mom, Amiee and I are just finishing up. (ding dong) Katie That's them! Well it's our time to shine, let's go. (Amiee) Wait Katie, we gotta make a slow entrance. (Katie) Why? (Amiee) To make Bryan and Dylan's mouths drop of course! (giggling) (Katie) Good point. (Katie's) mom Ladies your dates are here! (Katie) Coming! (5 mins later) (Katie's mom) hmm I wonder what's keeping them? (Katie) Here we are. (slow motion entrance) (the guys) Wow! they look amazing! (Amiee) I hope we didn't keep you boys waiting to long. (giggle) (Bryan) Oh not at all we just got here. (Katie's mom) Alright kids picture time. (snap snap snap) Alright have a good time. (Amiee) A limo oh my gosh! (both girls) this is amazing!! (Dylan) Well nothing to good for our ladies. (Amiee) Well we have to stop by my moms first, she wants pictures. Mom, were here come get your picture on. (mom) Oh you all look fabulous! Come gather around first just Amiee and Katie. Then each girls with their dates, then altogether. (snap snap snap snap) Alright love you guys have a great night. (Amiee) Love you too, bye. (Bryan) Gosh I thought that would never end. (Dylan) I know right your mom loves taking pics. (Amiee) Where do you think I got it from lol. (Bryan) Well we're here, what's first ladies? (Katie) Definitely pictures before our hair and makeup ruin. (Dylan) Didn't we just have alot of pictures taken by your two's parents? (Amiee) Ya, but this is professionals now (snap snap) (Kaite) Now we can dance. (lots of dancing later) (Aimee)11pm already, I feel like the night just begun. (Dylan) Well we don't have to go home. What if we hit the river or maybe a hotel? (Katie) well we didn't bring our swimsuits. (Dylan) So you ladies are saying hotel? (Amiee) Haha, no but we could run to Walmart there 24hrs and get swimsuits. (Bryan) Alright we're in. (Amiee) So we all went to the store so Katie and I could get swimsuits and off to the river we went. We hung out there for over an hour swimming and reminiscing about what the future was gonna be like after graduation. It was one the best nights I've had in along time.
