chapter 6: The Divorce
As weeks and months flew by, it seemed like we saw our dad less and less. We saw him every other weekend except when he had to work or we had plans with friends. Our parents started seeing other people. After 5 months our parents decided to go threw with a divorce, now it was a sure thing they weren't getting back together. Since it was summer vacation, Ashley and I got to go stay with dad. It was fun we went on our first airplane. He took us to New York to see some play on Broadway. But it wasn't the only reason we were in New York, dad is a contractor so he gets called to alot of different places to work. This time it was New York. We never came along before, but we needed some dad time. Because lately all we had was mom time and she's all giggly over her new boyfriend Tom. Of course coming along with dad ment spending time with his girlfriend Sandy. She's nice, but she's not our mom. Dad had rented a summer home for us to stay in til his job was complete. It had a huge back yard, a pool both outside and inside, even a hot tub how kool is that! Not to mention a horse ranch right down the road from us. This summer was gonna be the best ever!
Alright we got 2 hours before the show starts, so get ready. Dad had brought us all new dresses for the Broadway show, we looked fancy like we were going to a ball. We arrived to the show just as they were closing the door to the entrance. We were almost late because the new girlfriend Sandy took forever doing her hair and makeup. The Broadway show turned out to be really awesome, afterwards we went out for icecream.
The summer is almost over, I can't believe we have to go home already tomorrow. Well atleast we got to ride a horse finally and we went to so many places and got to do things we never have before. Dad has to stay since his project not done, so that leaves Sandy to take us to the airport. Ashley and I will be boarding and landing alone. Moms not to happy about that but she promised to be right up front waiting for us when we land. "Alright girls I dont have to work til later so Sandy and I will both take you to the airport. You have all your things packed?" Yes, dad we do we're going home with way more than we brought with us. "Well that just mean you had an awesome summer! Am I right?" You bet dad! the greatest summer ever! "Bye Aimee, bye Ashley love you so much have a safe plane ride home." Bye dad, we love you. "Call us when you land." We will!
"Amiee! Ashley! my girls. How was your trip?" Mom! it was ok, we missed you. "Wow didn't you girls leave with just a suitcase a piece?" Ya, but dad and Sandy took us everywhere. "More like they spoiled you two."
