I did not notice~

After reporting to the princess what had happened. Louise and Raizen are now returning to the academy by horse.

When they were near the entrance of the academy, they notice the lack of students that should be walking around.

Louise: "I almost forgot. It's summer vacation. Students should be leaving to return to their homes."

Then they notice Tabitha and Kirche putting their items in a carriage. Kirche went to hug Raizen and was surprised that he let her do that even for a little. Most of the time he evades her attempt but now something is not right.

R: *looking at Tabitha* "So you guys were going home too?"

Kirche: "Not me, I'm tagging along with Tabitha back to her home." *using this opportunity to hug Raizen tightly*

R: "Are there others staying in the academy besides us?"

Kirche: "Only two-thirds of the students went back and the others either at the library or practicing their magic. Except for Guiche, he might be flirting with some girl somewhere on the academy."

R: "Hmm... I think me and Louise will also stay at the academy." *looking at Louise having a hard time opening her eyes* We need new transportation."

Tabitha: "Why didn't you rent a carriage?"

R: "We just did not have the money to rent one." 'And the fact that I need to pay the wines and food that Louise wasted on the customers and she can't even take home the tip because she will be the same as the one she took it from. So Scarron has enough money to buy food, wines, and renovate the inn a little bit.'

Kirche: *looks at Tabitha and carriage that is ready to leave then get off of clinging Raizen* "As much as I would like to be with you more. It is not fun when you do not even react to what I'm doing. Well, see you and Louise at the end of summer vacation."

Kirche then walks to Tabitha and the two of them board the carriage and go away.

Raizen then carries Louise to her room because she has fallen asleep while Kirche was talking to him.

For the next five days, Louise continues her training to control her power. On the sixth day, Kirche returns to the academy and were rushing to find Raizen. She manages to find him and Louise meditating in an open field inside the academy. She then walks up to them and asks for help

Kirche: "Raizen? Can I use my favor now?"

R: *stops meditating* "What seems to be the problem Kirche?"

Kirche: "You know that I went with Tabitha to her home. As I found out that she is already a CHEVALIER even before coming to the academy. So when they heard that she returned, the people in charge gave her a task to lower the increasing volume of water from a lake that had already submerged a part of a town in her country. If you can, please help Tabitha with the task. We have been doing it for a couple of days now but the water just increases faster."

R: "Are you sure you want t use the favor now?"

Kirche: "Yes!"

R: "There was something else you're not telling me but I can guess that it is sensitive that you deliberately omit it. Let's depart after Louise is finished with her training."

Kirche already knew of Louise's training which made her stop mocking her because now she can at least levitate items for a couple of seconds before exploding. When Raizen and Louise were ready to go, Montmorency noticed them and asked where they were going. Kirche told the story and Montmo wants to come with them to the place of Tabitha to get Water Spirit Tears to make an antidote for the love potion that Guiche drank. Raizen asks where is Guiche and Montmo says that he is preoccupied for the moment. Raizen and Kirche just look at her while Louise just keeps meditating while sitting in front of Raizen on the horse.

It almost took them a whole day and only arrive at night so Kirche lead them to where Tabitha might be. It did not take too long when they notice a cloaked figure at the distance. Kirche called out to her which she heard and stop her motion of activating a spell. Then they got close to her location.

Tabitha: "What are they doing here?"

Kirche: "I called for help and Montmorency tag along"

R: *looking at the submerged homes* "So before I do something drastic. Montmorency, can you do something about it? You did come with us when you heard that we were going to this place."

Mont: "I'll call the water spirit first and ask why is the lake overflowing."

A few moments later. The water spirit came with the outline of Montmorency. She then started stating what she wants but was refused by the water spirit.

R: *looks at Montmo* "Don't ask the water spirit anymore." *Snap! his fingers*

Raizen snaps his fingers then Guiche pops out from nowhere and is tied by a rope.

R: *looks at Montmorency but avert her eyes* "I will dispel the effect of the potion"

He then motioned his hand to Guiche and the rope that was binding him came loose. Guiche then stands up and started talking about why Montmo let him drink a love potion and bind him with a rope.

Kirche: "Is this one of your abilities as a familiar of Louise?"

R: "Yes... *looks back at the water spirit not minding the lover's quarrel* Let's get to the point of why are you rising the water level of the lake"

WSpirit: "... A treasure has been taken from me. I can only exist on the water so I will cover the world with it until I get back my treasure."

Raizen: "What treasure?"

WS: "Andvari's Ring. It's a ring that has spent eternity with me"

Montmo: "A magic item that creates false life"

Kirche: "What kind of a guy took it?"

WS: "One of them was called like this. Cromwell. That's all I know."

R: "Then I promise you, I will return it to your possession. 'I can get it now but some things need to happen. At most is two years and you can get the ring back'" *talking to the water spirit using telepathy*

WS: "...I understand. I trust you. In the past, Gandalfr kept his promise to me."

The others were amazed at Raizen to make the spirit agree. When the water spirit disappears, the water that has been flooding the town starts receding back to the Lagdorian lake.

The next day night, Raizen was giving an example to Louise on how to control her magic power by sticking a leaf to her skin without exploding. A few moments later, the window of the room suddenly opens and princess Henrietta came through it Louise then came close to her and asks what she was doing late at night.

PHen: "I am requesting a favor that needs to be done immediately and under secrecy."

The princess walks to the side of Louise's bed then sits on it before continuing her story.

PHen: "I decided to marry into Germania."

Louise: "What!? Into that savage, stuck-up country of all places?"

PHen: "It can't be helped. In order to protect the small country of Tristain, we need to have a strong alliance with Germania"

R: "Politics. I've seen it a few times and only a small portion of them have a happy ending because both parties wish for it. In your case, you got no choice."

PHen: "I'm a princess of the Tristain. I do not hesitate to sacrifice myself for the country. I just need something to do before I leave." *walks to the window*

Louise: "Princess, if there's anything that I could do for you, please let me know"

PHen: "Thank you, Louise Francoise. I want you to find an item. A letter that I sent to Prince Wales of the Kingdom of Albion. If the contents of the letter were made public, the marriage proposal would turn into white sheet paper"

Louise: "I've heard that the aristocrats are starting a rebellion, and the throne is about to be tipped over.'

PHen: "I am sorry for asking this of my best friend. I'm... I have no one else to ask besides the two of you."

Louise: *understanding the pain of her best friend, kneels beside her* "Thank you very much, Princess"

PHen: "Louise..."

Louise: "It would be a great honor to help you with this task"

R: "So we need to retrieve an important item without being noticed by the enemy. *walking to the door of the room* You know princess if you're giving such a secretive task to one of your subordinates. Make sure that no one is listening to the conversation."

Raizen opens the door of the room and sees Guiche sleeping on the floor.

PHen: "What happened to him?"

R: "Made him fall asleep before you start your explanation princess. If he heard what you have said. You will have no choice but to let him join the expedition."

Louise: "Now that he is asleep, fewer people would know the better."

R: "Are we the only ones you told this task with, princess?"

PHen: "..."

The next day before dawn, Raizen and Louise meet with Wardes saying that he came as their bodyguard. Raizen just looked even if there is a mask covering his face at Wardes and said nothing. While Louise is having a moment with the guy.

After that, they started their journey. Wardes is busy recollecting the past with Louise in his griffon while Raizen just follows them. They manage to get to the town port before afternoon but the scheduled departure of the ship is not until tomorrow before dusk. So they find an inn where Louise and Wardes are in the same room but Raizen told them that he will rent a blacksmith shop to do something.

When Raizen was far away from them. Derflinger, who is being quiet in the journey finally spoke.

Derf: "That sucker didn't know that we know that he is a spy of the enemy."

Flashback...

R: "Are we the only ones you told this task with, princess?"

PHen: "Yes. I made sure that only the two of you I have spoken with this request. Not even my trusted person from my knight did I told this."

R: "So if say, a person comes and gives as an aid for this task, that person is not included in the group. Right?"

PHen: "Yes, only the two of you."

R: "Just checking"

Flashback end

Derf: "Louise almost ask the guys."

R: "I told Louise that whoever, if any, comes to aid or hinder us. She should keep her cool. It's just that she did not expect her fiancee to come. That means, he is a spy of the enemy. Louise was having a hard time replying to the questions of Wards."

Derf: "Partner. That guy was so obvious that he even ask the location of the prince. Good thing Louise change the subject."

R: "If he got desperate, we will just leave him here and go directly to the prince."

Next day morning...

Wardes: "Raizen, I challenge you to a duel for the heart of Louise!"

R: *who was about to put food in his mouth, while the part of the mask is retracted upward, got interrupted* "You better put up a good fight"

Raizen puts down the spoon he was holding and follows Wardes to an open area big enough to move around. Wardes get ready for his stance but Raizen just has a bored posture. This annoys Wardes because it looks like his opponent is not taking the fight seriously.

Wardes attacked first and continue to do so but he can already tell that Raizen is not fazed by his actions. He then gestures with his left hand which did nothing but Raizen knows that it is a signal to move their plans.

Wardes then use his lethal attacks to kill his opponent but Raizen was nowhere to be found. Wardes suddenly black out with a pain in his neck.

R: "Lets go Louise, you already saw what he did and was trying to kill me."

Louise: "Did you kill him?"

R: "No, he will stand trial for his treason. We must go now. He already give some signal and delayed us long enough."

Raizen hold the hand of Louise and teleported to the safe place of prince Wales. The scene is not something both of expected.

Raizen thought that they will be earlier than a day before the order was passed for the Reconquista to attack the base of Wales but someone have the ability to gather information instantly. If Raizen was not limiting his sensing ability to 1km then maybe he would know the person who is capable of such feat. He already has the idea who but the person already left the area.

The two of them seeing now is the guards of Wales were dead outside of the church. Raizen carried Louis inside the church and see that Wales just finish off his current opponent. Louise run towards him and try to support the bloodied prince.

Wales asks who she is. Louise showed him the ring given to her by princess Henrietta. he asked why they were sent to him and Louise told him about what the princess wants but he just shakes his head and tell them that the enemy already have the letter. Which started the fight in the first place.

The base they were in was already been known by the Reconquista and just bidding their time. Wales then cough blood and became weaker. Louise helps him to lay down. He then give his ring to Louise and tell her to give the princess a message that she is the last thing that is on his mind.

Louise: *looks at Raizen* "Can you help him?"

R: "I can but he already made his mind to die for his country. I'm sorry."

Louise just cried right there. Not only did they not get the letter but Prince Wales also died in the process.

That night, Raizen buried the dead at the back of the destroyed church. He alse left the bodies with protective runes based on what he learned from the academy's library to prevent the body to be used for evil especially for the body of prince Wales.

The two of them returned to Tristain and Louise reported similar results that both of them cried about. In serious note concerning the country, Wardes is a traitor to the country and his assets were taken by the crown and the golds were put on the treasury. Some nobles protest but evidence of Wardes' meeting with Fouquet were shown which made the nobles shut their mouth.

Back at the academy, after Louise report to principal Osmond of what happened. She was feeling down. Raizen wants to make for her an ice cream when he notice Siesta in casual clothes.

R: "Where are you going Siesta?"

Siesta: "I'm going home for my vacation"

R: "To your grandfather's home who you said came from different world"

Siesta: "Great-grandfather actually. They said that he came riding a dragon with another one who disappeared in the solar eclipse and was left behind. My family don't usually talk about it. Only for the children to know the story of our family."

R: "Do you think one of your family knows where the dragon is located? I just want to confirm something. hmm... Better yet, if you don't mind. I want to join you going to you home. I would also include Louise for change of scenery. She is feeling down recently."

Siesta: "I don't see why not"
