Getting away from the dead

Nozomu, Rei, and Takeshi are now getting close to the faculty. Nozomu is killing any undead that comes in their way. Even though he does that, it does not hinder the pace of how they are moving so when Takashi suggests that he would help, Nozomu told him that to just follow him and stay close. Takashi did not refute any further because, from the place that they were saved, they moved relatively fast and not even 20 minutes have passed.

It also helps that when he sees Nozomu fights, he can only see blurs of the sword that he was holding. Even before the undead manage to get to him, the zombie would just stand in its place and Nozomu would just walk past it. When Takeshi walk past at the same time, he would just see the head of the undead separating from its body. That's how fast they are going through the corridors with the undead around.

Nozomu relaxes his stance after killing the last undead near the faculty room just to be safe. With just three zombies, they can easily destroy the doors of the faculty room so better kill them now than later. He remembered to what these zombies are equivalent to. They are more like the zombies from the resident evil series in their first phase of transformation on how fast they are.

After a couple of seconds, he walks to the door of the room and knocks. The one who opened it was Saeko. She was already glancing outside the door's window so she knew who are the people outside.

N: "Miss me?" *then he kisses her*

The other people inside the room don't mind the display because they already knew that they are a couple.

Nozomu looks around the room, sees the four that he had saved and the only adult of the group.

N: "Miss Shizuka-san, glad you are with us."

Shizuka: "Miss Busujima suggested to come with her. I was really shocked when she came to the clinic then asked where were the bag to put the medical kits. Then some of the students tried to get into the clinic but the complexion of their skins was dark and that only happens when there are dead cells in the body.

Before they manage to destroy the door, miss Busujima walked to the door and started stabbing their heads. I ask her why she did that and why does she have a katana with her. She said they were already dead and the katana was due for cleaning so she was about to use the tools in the utility room to at least polish the katana."

N:'well it's not technically a lie. If the pandemic started two days before them we would just say the same thing if somebody asks' "You did not hear what happened in the PA system?"

Shizuka: "I think I was sleeping when that happened." *thinking*

N: 'That's cute'

He then looked at Khota and walked to him.

N: "Good job Khota in leading here and hope Saya didn't give you a hard time."

Saya: "Hmmph!"

K: "No big deal hehe. *smiling while rubbing the back of* When we got here, we already saw Busujima-sempai almost finished with dealing with them. So I just help a little. After going inside the room, we barricaded the entrance."

N: "So who wants to talk first?" *looking at the four*

By this time, Takeshi is already looking at the 4 people at the back. He goes to one of the boys then said:

Takashi: "Morita!" * then gave a brotherly hug*

Morita: "Takashi! Man, I'm so glad you made it alive. After what happened with the PA, everybody started to panic. I tried to find the others but the location where we hang out was much closer the problem is it was already blocked by the students so I run in the other direction when I came across these two *pointing to the girl and boy who are very close together* We were going in the same direction so we just stuck together. Then we saw her looking for someone *pointing at the girl on the side* and this guy said we would help her find her friend."

So we four made our way to the lesser crowded corridor but we didn't expect to be surrounded by them. That's when you showed up and save us Museigen-sempai. That's the most badass thing that has ever been seen."

N: "So you know of me."

Morita: "Yes sir! ... I mean yes sempai... besides I have a friend in one of the gangs in the city. He said that sometime last year, someone took control of the gangs in the city. Those who opposed were beaten black and blue even if it was one against many. He even gave me a picture even though it was to be top secret. The person that I saw in the picture was your sempai when the fight was over and you were standing while all of the gang members that fought you were on the ground. Freaking cool man, I still have the photo in my pocket." *took the photo out and gave it to our mc*

Saeko and the others took a look at the photo. The angle of it when it was taken made the mc look like standing at the top of the piles of body.

Takashi: "So the rumors were true."

Nozomu tore the photo out of the embarrassment which made Morita sad.

N: "That was supposed to be a secret. *facepalmed after that, he looked at the other 3 who haven't introduced themselves yet* So What are your names?"

??: "I am Takuzo and she is my girlfriend Naomi. We also know of you sempai. Koichi-sensei made sure of that. Whether the rumors of you were true or not. We know that you are a good person because we sometimes saw you helping some students around the school. And thank you for saving us before."

N: "Your welcome." * smiles at them but the last girl looks like she trying to hold back her tears*

??: "sniff... my name is... Toshimi Niki.... waaahh!!..." *she clung to our mc while crying*

Nozomu was surprised by the sudden action he looks at Saeko saying that "this is not what it looks like" but she just smiled back at him. He ask while trying to calm her down to tell her what happened.

Niki:*looking at the mc* "I was separated from my friend Ichijou. I tried to look for her myself but can not find her that when they saw me and offer help. Even when you save us, I kept on hoping to find her but...*holding her tears* when we're on our way here... Waahh..." *started crying*

Nozomu tried to tell her its ok and she should just say what it is to not burden herself.

She stops crying and continues with her story.

Niki: "When we're going through one of the classrooms when I saw my friend. We were too late and her body was being eaten by 3 of them. Hirano-sempai notice where I was looking and killed the three. Then my friend tried to stand up but sempai also put a nail on her head. I was so shocked by what happened. I almost screamed and wanted to cry right then but I hold it in to not give trouble to the group. I also understand why sempai did that. But it was so hurtful to see my friend in that state. And now that you guys saw each other. Takashi-sempai saw his friend alive and Takuzo is still with Naomi-san. I just could not hold it in anymore... waaaahhh...." *started crying again but this time it was louder*

Nozomu hugged Niki tighter to muffle the sound of her crying. The atmosphere in the room was so down that each of them contemplated what have happened so far.

N: 'Now I remember, they were supposed to die separately in the manga and anime. The original group was to meet up with the group of Takuzo. But I guess in this timeline, they manage to be in the same group and if I was not there to save them then they would have died together.'

N: "There There..." *massaging her back(not sexually) and giving comfort*

Rei see this and remembered what happened on the school roof while trying not to cry. She has also been through the same experience where she has seen her friend die before her eyes. She understand what she has gone through so she walked up to her to also give her support.

When Niki started crying less. Our mc told her she understands her. He also tells her about the friends that he had made even if most of the students don't want to associate with him because they were afraid of Shido's retaliation. Not so deep bond as the people in the room but friends nonetheless so when he saw them in their state. He made the decision, no matter how hard, to put them out of their misery. He needs to move forward not for himself but for the ones that still want him to live.

Niki and Rei just stared at him while Saeko comes from behind and kisses his right cheek which made the two girls blush. Niki, with a spark of courage, kissed the left cheek then said:

Niki: "Thank you sempai..."

Saya not wanting to see the whole drama, opened the tv in the room and looked for some news concerning the whole situation. The two love birds face each other with the same determination to live for each other. Miss Shizuka smiles with an appreciation for what our mc did while Khota gives a thumbs up. The two boys were not jerk enough because every one of them needs some anchor to all this chaos and happiness that Niki found her own. They can be jealous later. But for now, they need a plan on how to get away from the school and find their family.

On the tv, they are showing riots happening, or the cause of the sudden deaths might have come from a biological weapon. Then Saya and Miss Shizuka exchange ideas. Saeko wants to tell them the truth but she feels like it is not her place to tell them. She then looked at the mc which he noticed and understand what she meant.

N: "It is indeed a biological weapon."

All of them except for Saeko.

Saya: "What do you know?" *still being skeptical*

N: "Long story short, there was an accident a few years before. A village become a testing ground with no survivors. Data were collected. Plans were made."

Saya: "If you knew that this would happen then not tell it to the general public?!"

N: "One, POLITICS. Two, not everyone will believe a nine-year-old, and gathering evidence is hard especially if it's about the end of humanity. We only manage to get hard evidence 3 years before that hasten all the plans to be finished. And even by then, the culprits were already gone and no trace was found but only when they will try again. It was supposed to be two days from now. But by then, we would already have informed the public to lessen the damage but as you can see, whoever was behind all this had made a decision to start earlier."

Saya: "You kept saying "we", who are the other people that know this?"

N: "hmm Saeko and her grandfather, some good politicians, few heads of a construction company, two heads of shipping companies; one for cargo and one for cruising. They can only build 1 per 3 years so we got some from the other countries. The ships are already floating in the sea and fully stocked. For the food, we also have some in the industries but most of the people only knew about the zombie virus 3 years ago."

Khota: "Wait, it would take a lot of resources based on your description."

N: "Yes. From 9 years old, I didn't just sit idly. While I was trying to get a hold of some evidence. I planned to amass a lot of wealth. I am smart enough to do that *smirking to Saya while she just glared at him*. I first started helping some companies like the shipping company that was about to be bankrupt because I need to be independent of my actions because I was an orphan.

To those that did not know, they just feel bad for him.

N: "I made the president of that company act as my guardian. I invented prostheses for the medical field and sold some outside the country. The ones that I made are advanced enough that the wearer won't even feel the difference. I even dabbled in the stock market like investing and trading."

Saeko: "Yes, your so-called "side job" *smiling*

Takeshi: "Out of curiosity, how much did you gather."

N: "2 digits billions. *Takashi and the others were surprised* Anyway, Saya's father was supposed to address the public today but because of the circumstances, it did not happen."

Saya: "My father knew and he didn't even tell me. Mother is probably in the know."

N: "They did what they had to do what they need to keep you safe. They would tell you first before the public. They even put your safety in my hands if something happened to them."

Rei: "What about the police?"

N: "I have some people in high places. I even gave them a computer virus that says "WHEN THE DEAD WALK, AIM FOR THE HEAD"."

Rei: "That was you? Father said it was a pain in the neck. It lasted a whole week."

N: "That was one of many precautions I have made throughout the years but I fear that it will not be enough."

Shizuka: "Why not?"

N: "Because there are 120 million people in Japan alone. I have some other people all around the world but my focus was my people in Japan. And the zombies are stronger and faster."

Khota: "How stronger and faster?"

N: "Not as much as you think. Just slightly stronger and faster than their movie counterpart. But that is not the worse part...'

Shizuka: "What could be even worse than that?"

N: "...We are all infected with a dormant virus that came from the drinking water that needs the trigger from an already activated virus to spread faster in the body.

Not only here but all around the world."

Silence.....

N: "So we really need to go so let's make up a plan."

Takashi: "We need to see our families first."

Shizuka: "My parents already passed away and my friend is working most of the time out around the country. I tried calling her emergency phone in her apartment and no one was answering so I guess she is already out there on her job."

Saeko: "My grandfather already evacuated so I will stick with Nozomu."

N: "My people already evacuated even my guardian when I ordered them to. I don't have a family except for Saeko so I intend to keep my promise to the parents of Saya."

Saya: *blushing* "Well I need to seriously talk to my parents about all of these."

Khota: "My parents are out of the country."

Takuzo: "Mine and Naomi's were out of the country. They said it was for preparing for a vacation. They told us to go some places if something happens and one of those is the Takagi Estate."

Niki: "My mother is in Chiba prefecture for work. When she began working, she started practicing self-defense and handling firearms, something needed for the job. So I will just follow Museigen-sempai because I know she will be safe."

N: 'Interesting' "Please, just call me Nozomu. Not really fond of formalities among friends."

Niki: "Hai! Sempai" * while hugging my left arm*

N: "You're in luck, most of my people are in the Chiba prefecture so we can only hope that your mother will be safe." *Niki nodded but you can still see the concern in her eyes* 'I wonder why Saeko is not saying anything about Niki hugging my arm'

Morito: "My father also has a job with construction in the Chiba prefect. So I'm just going to follow you guys."

Takeshi: "So it just leaves my parent and Rei's. My mother is teaching at Shintoko Third Elementary School and both the house and precinct are in one direction going to the school."

Rei is being concerned about her parents which the mc notice.

N: "Don't worry Rei, I have a lot of people that included some in the police stations and almost all the grade schools around the country. My people will be able to defend enough to give time for an evacuation to happen. After we get to Saya's house. From there, we can contact my people in that location."

Rei: "Ok... Thank you sempai."

N: "I told you, you can call me onii-chan if you want to. And just like Saya's parents, aunt Kiriko and uncle, Tadashi told me to keep you safe especially in school where Shido is."

Rei: "Thanks onii-chan*while hugging our mc* So how are we going to get away from here?"

Saya: "Obviously walking at the front. Idiot"

Shizuka: "Or we can just use the school bus.

*looking for the keys* Here I can drive it."

N: "And we can switch in driving. I got my non-pro license last week."

Saeko: "So it is settled. Go to Saya's house. Contact people. Get the parents of Takashi and Rei."

{an: The zombie attack in this timeline so even after their talk, they would still be earlier than the original. The reason why they are calling each other their first name besides miss Shizuka is because of the mc not wanting to be formal and except the four, they are all friends in this timeline}
