Town ~ 22

CHAPTER 22

Waiting at the bus stop made me cold, the small wooden shelter wasn't the nicest place to be sitting at that time in the morning. The ground was frosted over and the sky was white. The sea was a deep blue like that of the Arctic ocean, it didn't look like your average English seaside any more.

Both me and Amelia were shivering but compared to the elderly people who were waiting with us, we were warm enough.

Finally, after whst felt like years of waiting, this bus pulled up to our stop.

We stepped on into the heat of everyone's breath in the bus. The seats was rough and worn but the bus was almost empty.

I sat down next to a steamed up window and Amelia sat behind me.

"so, what sort of phone do you want? Also what size clothes are you?" Amelia started firing questions at the back of my head. I turned around in my seat. Thisr questions made me blush because I had never had anyone ask me them.

"well... I'm not sure about my clothing sizes but I would loove a massive iPhone, the new one!" we both laughed. "no but honestly, I don't even care if I have a flip phone." I smiled at her. I felt mushy saying that, I didn't feel like man.

The bus creaked to a hault at a few more stops before it came to ours in town.

Surprisingly, the town was buzzing with life, Christmas sales and shop windows filled with coats and gloves and hats, everywhere you turned, all you could see was happiness and everyone around was happy and enjoying what the shops had to offer.

Amelia walked ahead of me as I admired the welcoming smells of cakes and Christmas treats. She grabbed my arm. "come on!" she pulled and we started to wander up the town.

There was just soo much to see and so much going on that I was always afraid I was missing something.

I was completely unaware of where I was being taken, I was just letting her pull me. Although, I did realise that after we turned a specific corner I saw a phone shop amongst all the chaos of Christmas.

Amelia pushed me in and all of a sudden I was surrounded by walls of all different phones and cases and all types of accessories.

I saw a blurry flash fly past me towards the counter. Amelia ran straight up to the man behind it and asked for the manager.

I tilted my head and furrowed my brows as the manager came out from the back and both Amelia and her became quite loud.

"ee!" Amelia squealed "hey babe! I finally moved down!!!"

"Omg! Yaaaas! amieee!" They both hugged and Amelia wrote down her address for the woman.

"So what can I do you for?" The manager smiled.

"well, funny story really..." Amelia turned to me and we both giggled.

Amelia and I told the story for the second time and the store managers eyes were glittery with disbeliefe. "omg... I read about that story on the news! I DIDNT THINK IT WAS YOU!?!" she almost screamed it to the world as she jiggled on the spot.

"so... We were wondering.. If you could maybe hook us up with a phone?" Amelia went a little red, she felt bad for asking for free things.

"umm..yes! don't even worry about it I'll get one now!" she ran behind the counter and in through a door titled 'storage'.

A few minutes past and the manger emerged from the door. "Amelia come here a sec" she smiled cheekily. Amelia did as she asked and they turned their backs to me. I heard them whispering so I leaned in discretely.

"sooooo, amie mie mieee, what's his name?" Amelias friend asked excitedly.

"His name is Damien" she laughed back.

"oOoh" The manager wiggled her eyebrows.

"well I'll get to finding a perfect phone for your...new man" She laughed as she walked back into the storage room.

When she came back out she held up a magnificent, Slick black phone.

All I needed to do now was set it up.
