Chapter 4

Emma leaves Kira's room and leaves for another audition a few blocks away. Three hours later Kira wakes up and goes downstairs to gather some towels from the dryer she had washed earlier. She is stopped by the building manager Mrs. Gavi.

"Kira, do you have a few minutes to talk?" Mrs. Gavi asks

"I am a little busy at the moment, can it wait?" Kira ask

"It won't take long dear." she says

"Ok ma'am."

They walk over to her office to talk.

"Kira, I know how you are trying to find work, but you are way behind on your rent for the last few months."

"I know ma'am I am working on it."

"I see that dear, but I also have bills to pay to keep this place running."

"Yes, I know we have had this conversation before."

"I suggest that you move into a more affordable rental. I know a place and the rent is less than mine. I can give you the address."

"Mrs. Gavi- -"

"Do not be upset, we all have had troubles."

"That won't be necessary. I will be leaving soon."

"Excuse me?" she asked with an eyebrow raised. Pissed off by her disrespectful tone.

"I am making other plans. I won't need the address." Rolling her eyes

"Ok then, Make sure you pay on time next month."

At 6:28pm Emma returns home and enters the living room calling for Kira.

"Kira, are you home, I got food." She yells into the empty room.

She walks over to her room and knocks on the door after a few moments of not hearing any movement she opens the door.

"Kira, are you sleeping?" She peeks her head in the door. She opens the door wider and gasps.

She sees Kira lying on her bed with her eyes open and not moving. She walks over to her to check her pulse. When she doesn't feel one she hurries to call an ambulance. The police are asking questions that she can not hear due to the state of shock she is in. All of sudden she feels a pair of arms around her and voice telling the police that their questions will be answered later when she has had rest. She looks up to see Kylen looking down at her. That is when the tears flowed from her eyes and she broke down.

"How did this happen?" Kylen ask Mrs. Gavi

"Sir I do not know, I talked to her earlier today about moving to another rental with cheaper rent. She told me she was making other plans. If I would have known this is what she meant I would have kept a better eye on her." she says

"This is not your fault, this would have happened even if you had been cautious of her." He says

Kylen is still holding on to Emma. "Stop crying love, We will overcome this." He says holding her tightly.

"Kylen, why didn't I see that something was wrong, I was with her everyday." Sobbing
