Chapter 9

"No one would have seen it, if she did not want them to see it." he whispers into her hair, kissing her temple.

"She was my friend. I should have seen it." Tears falling again

"I think you should move in with me." He finally says

She looks at him with wide eyes. And shakes her head.

"I don't think so." she says

"Why not you sleep nights there sometimes." His eyebrows furrowed. "This way you can have a clear head about what happened."

She looks into his eyes to find any doubt in them. When she doesn't find any she nods her head as a yes to his request. He smiles happily looking into her gray eyes he loves so much.

Six months later. I was sitting on the couch watching TV. I have been thinking about Kylen and how he was with me through all of this with Kira. I love this man with all my heart and he makes me happy. Tonight I will give him my body and soul as his birthday gift. Across town Kylen was sitting in his office looking down at the ring in his hand. He will be proposing to Emma tonight. He is so nervous. On his way home he receives a text message from Emma saying that she has a surprise for him when he gets home. He calls her just to hear voice after getting the message.

"Hello handsome." She says when she answers

Smiling "Hey beautiful, I just called to hear your voice." he says "Also have a surprise for you too. Would you like to meet me for dinner?"

"No, I have already made plans to cook your favorites at home." she says

"We can have that another day." he chuckles

"Your surprise is already here so we have to eat at home." she smiles

"Ok, I will come home for dinner." He sighs

"I will see you when you get home." She says

Kylen walks into the condo, his eyes widen when he sees candles lit at the doorway. He takes a few steps inside and sees a note on the key holder.

:I know you must be surprised by all this but just go with it. I promise you will like it. Go to the kitchen and grab the cupcake and two forks then come to the room. He grabs the cake and walks to the room. His jaw drops when he sees Emma sitting on the bed reading a book in a white lace teddy. He puts the cake down on the dresser table. She looks up and smiles at him.

"I am guessing this is my surprise?" He says smirking.

"Yes, I wanted to give you a good gift for your birthday." She smiles at him with her glittering gray eyes.

"I forgot today was my birthday." He smiles.

"I didn't." She smiles
