Chapter 8

"Your majesty! You can't be serious!"

Melony looked down.

"I am.."

Melony looked sincere. She really meant it. It made the maid feel a bit bad.

"Well what are you going to do about it..?"

Melony sighed.

"I don't know.."

"Maybe he had a reason..?"

"He did.."

"Your majesty.. I don't really know how to help you but maybe you should listen to what he has to say..?"

The maid had a good point. Maybe Melony should listen to what Dylan had to say..

"You're right.. Thank you.."

"Anytime, your majesty.."

She said then leaving the bedroom.

Melony ran out her room, past the halls and down to the dungeon.

Dylan saw her and ran towards her.

"Before you say anything, I want you to tell me why you would killed that little boy!"

Dylan sighed looking down, then he looked back at Melony.

"Like I Said, I had no Choice! I was poor.. I didn't have any money for food and all that.. so one day a man came to me telling me that he will give me a coins. But on one condition.. if I killed that little boy. I didn't want to! I promise! But I couldn't keep stealing like this.. so I agreed.. I didn't enjoy it at all! And after I did it.. I couldn't bare myself.. and when I was going to collect the payment I barely got anything! That made me feel even worse about myself.. I had killed a little boy that had a big future infront of him and all for these coins that's barely enough for a place to stay!"

Dylan got silent after that. Melony was shocked, she did not expect him to say something like that.

"Listen Melony.. I'm sorry.. I swear! I didn't want to do it but I had no choice.."

Melony sighed looking down.

"Listen, it's okay.. I'm just so shocked.. I just didn't expect this.. I mean I'm glad that the person I loved had a reason for this but I never expected it to be this!"

When Melony realised what she said, she started blushing. Dylan also started to get red.

"Y-you love me?"

Melony thought it was time to come clean about her feelings, so she answered:

"Yes. I have liked you almost ever since we met!"

Dylan was shocked and then smiled.

"I love you too.. So much!"

Melony got closer to Dylan and put her hand on his cheek. Melony got closer to his face and kissed him.

It felt like a million butterflies surrounded them.

When the kiss ended, Melony got disappointed. She wanted the kiss to continue longer. But sadly It had to end.

Melony looked up at Dylan.

"Listen, I will make sure that you won't be the one who gets the blame."

Dylan smiled.

"Thank you princess.."

And indeed Melony did. Melony told her parents all about who actually did it and the guards found him and put him in the dungeon instead of Dylan. Dylan was set free and after some years they both got married happily. Melony finally inherited the throne and became queen and Dylan the king.

And they both lived happily ever after..
