Dr. Octavius and Lab of Spiders

Coming out of the bus we were greeted by the scorching sun and the incredible view of the Oscorp main building. The outside of the building was made up of hexagonal glass panes and its height stretched to the sky. I had never been in front of such a tall building before. In this life, I had seen this building in the news sometimes but seeing it in reality, was a totally different experience. It didn't help that in my last life I lived with my family in the remote towns of England where even 3 story houses were rare.

Taking in the view, I inwardly felt quite amazed and curious about this place.

"Alright kids follow me!!!", said Mr.Smith in a cheery voice. He was the substitute teacher tasked to guide us today. He was a nice and cheerful man and well-liked by everyone so I guess it made sense to send him with us, considering how rowdy teenagers can be(yes I am pointing at you flash).

We went through the gate after getting checked by security and given our visitor passes. Mr. Smith told us that we would be going to the different laboratories according to our schedule which started with labs researching technology for the first half and then labs researching medicines and Biology related research in the second half.

When we went to the technology side, it was mostly boring stuff like increasing the efficiency of old components which to me looked very silly. I mean, I am sure it is very important and may seem exciting and interesting to others and have high demand but in my eyes, it was very easy to see where their team was lacking and how they were just going in spirals and wasting their time and money. Blame my great brain! Mongrels *yare yare daze*... I am not going to act like a smartass and like a Japanese MC and point out their mistakes and get attention on me. No sir!!! Since the day I have transmigrated, I have made sure to keep my interactions to a minimum. I don't want to get unwanted attention and especially not when I am in the Oscorp building.

Anyways, after a few more labs, finally some interesting things happened like seeing Dr. Octavius who looked like a fat middle age man just like how he did in the movies. He didn't have his tentacle thingies, but he did have them on one side of his laboratory. It looked unfinished. He explained how he is working on building an artificial energy source. He didn't reveal what it was, but he showed how different machines in his lab work. It's understandable, it would be unwise to reveal it to others. It was quite an informative lab and if for a moment I ignore the fact that he is a future villain then I could say that he seems like a nice person. I also got to see some of the machines I had read about before, during my "information absorbing" session, and saw how they work which was a welcome benefit. All in all, it was a good experience.

Apparently, his lab was the last one for this half. When returning back to the lounge, I slipped away from the group. I was trailing in the back when returning because I had planned to search for the spider room during this break. My presence in class was so low that I was confident that people won't even notice that I am gone, I am proud of it!!!...should I really be proud of it? Sad life...Not! I am comfortable not having to deal with immature kids. They were so noisy on the tour so far as well, insufferable brats! I don't have Super Hearing so I had to make great efforts to listen to what the scientists and engineers were saying just because of them.

Hais~ I wanna get out of this school.

Presently I am confidently moving toward the elevator. I don't want to look out of place so I put on my face of "I know where I am going" and moved. It was super effective!

No one minded me and it was great! Using my phone during the boring labs, I had silently hacked into the security cameras here and erased myself from their feed and I was currently also moving with that cover. I had made myself visible with the group moving towards the lounge. I also found out where the radioactive spider labs are from the schedule. Funny thing is that we would be going to visit that place in the second half of our tour anyways but I wasn't sure that fate would let me be bitten by the spider during the tour so to be extra sure I wanted to visit them myself. I am so smart indeed *nod *nod*.

I arrived at the elevator, selected floor 8 and in a few minutes, unceremoniously arrived at floor 8. To be honest I was so surprised that everything is going so well. Isn't it obvious that I should have faced more hurdles and difficulties so far? Where are you Murphy's law? Why haven't I been attacked yet? Where is the plot? It wasn't this easy in the fanfics, right? It's not that I am complaining but...I feel uncomfortable that everything is going alright, and it's nerve-wracking.

Well, I will worry about that later, I have reached the lab of radioactive spiders and it looks like a regular lab. Through the door, I can see blue light in the room and spiders, lots and lots and lots of spiders! OML! Do I really have to go inside? It looks super creepy. I can see that the spiders are on their spider webs and the bars with the webbed spiders are separated in sections for each spider. They are arranged in concentric circles and the bars are moving clockwise. It's EXACTLY like the room in the Amazing Spider-Man movie. Not gonna lie, I was hoping that there would only be a single spider but I guess I have to suffer.

I pray to OAA that my acquisition of spidey powers goes well and hesitantly enter the room...
