Chapter 141: Valley of War(4)

Luke blinked a few times and rubbed his eyes to see if what he was seeing was real. In disbelief, he looked around at the werewolves that surrounded him.

"What the hell? What are you guys doing here? "

Luke's question elicited a frown from the werewolves, who charged at him with their fists. Luke frowned and slashed his net quickly to get away from their impending fists.

"Son of a fuck!"

Luke then flew away, looking down to see the werewolves striking the empty net on the ground. The werewolves growled and looked up at Luke, who responded with a puzzled expression.

"Wait, you're a member of the Dark Eye? What the hell? I thought you guys were the type who doesn't give a damn about human affairs?"

Luke frowned even more as the werewolves did not respond. Why would werewolves, beasts who are known not to get involved in human affairs, come here in this war?

BOOM!

When Luke turned around, he noticed a large explosion in the distance. He then noticed Spencer flying towards a mage and attacking him with various destruction spells. Then he heard the mage laugh.

"Really, the black coat hero's allies are really something else! You found me almost instantly!"

It appears that the real Ash has been discovered.

Spencer frowned and continued to attack Ash, but Ash simply avoided the attacks carelessly. Luke then frowned as he noticed Ash turning his head towards him with a big scary grin on his face, which disturbed Luke.

"How do you like the additional forces I brought? Hmmm?"

Luke then looked down at the werewolves Ash refers to as his "additional forces." When he looked around, he saw a swarm of werewolves attacking his soldiers, which caused him to frown in annoyance. Luke then flew towards the soldiers being held by the werewolves and slashed some of the werewolves' fingers, causing the soldiers to fall to the ground. Luke did the same for the others, gathering the soldiers on the ground in one location and standing in front of them as if to protect them.

Luke then pointed his sword at the werewolves who were slowly approaching and encircling them. Luke then frowned in frustration. He's thinking about a lot of things right now. Luke took a look around him and in front of him. All he could see are werewolves; it appeared that the Regle Alliance's soldiers had secretly retreated, and the wolves had taken their place while Luke was fighting Ash in the air.

"You dirty son of a bitches..."

Ash appears to have heard this and burst out laughing.

"HAHAHA! This is war! Everything is conceivable!"

After Ash said that, he became more focused on Spencer. Luke simply frowned at him and sighed to calm his nerves. He then gave an order to his soldiers while his voice was amplified by magic.

"All soldiers retreat. Now."

The soldiers all looked at Luke in disbelief, while Ash and the werewolves all gave him piercing stares. Luke didn't mind the stares and turned to face the soldiers who were sitting on the ground in shock behind him. He then looked into one of the soldier's trembling eyes. Luke just stared at them blankly.

"Retreat."

The soldiers flinched at Luke's cold voice, stood up, and retreated behind the mages, who were casting shield magic to defend the retreating soldiers. The mages were perplexed by the sudden orders, as were the soldiers, but they could not disobey their Commander's orders, so they retreated, even if they were perplexed.

When Luke confirmed that all of the soldiers had retreated, he immediately flew towards their side of the valley, which shocked the soldiers, but Luke ignored them and flew past the gap in the shield that the mages had made for him. Luke ignored the soldiers' perplexed looks and flew straight to Norman, who appeared startled by his approach.

"What- c-commander? What are you doing here-? Y-you are also retreati-?"

Luke ignored Norman's questions and placed his palm in front of him as if he were asking for something. Luke frowned deeply at Norman as Norman looked at him in astonishment.

"Please hand over the communication device."

"Ah!"

Norman then nervously rummaged through his pockets and handed over the communication device to Luke. Luke then flew out from behind the mages' shield and stood in front of them, causing the mages to look at him with confusion once more, but Luke ignored them. Luke then reached into his pockets and pulled out another communication device. He has two communication devices in his hands now.

"Nash, connect"

• You got it, Dad!

Nash then connected the two devices and two faces appeared in front of him after a few beeps. One is a familiar face, while the other is unfamiliar to Luke. Luke's attention was drawn to the familiar face first.

"It's time, Jay. Get In here."

• Understood!

Jay then made a happy, excited face, but Luke ignored him and focused on the other screen. He's speaking with the captain of the army he dispatched to the mountains between the valleys.

"Get the troops ready. Prepare the reins as well."

• Understood.

Luke nodded and talked to Nash, who was on his shoulder,

"Nash, have you set up the teleportation circles I told you about earlier?"

Nash was out for a bit earlier because Luke had ordered him to not only assist Spencer in finding the real Ash but also to set up teleportation circles on top of the mountains where the other half of the army was on standby.

• Of course I did!

"Good, now, Jay...."

Jay then responded to Luke's call.

• Yes?

"Commence operation: 'White Landslide'."

The captain of the mountain army cast an odd glance at Luke on the other side of the screen. They had never heard of such an operation and had not been warned about it. How exactly are they going to do it? Also, the order to bring reins... What are they going to do with it?

Wiiiiiiiinnnggggg!!!!

The captain and the others immediately closed their eyes as bright flashes of light appeared all over the mountain's summit.

"Argh?! What is going on?! "

"Are we being attacked?!"

"Pull out your weapons!" Be cautious of your surroundings! "

The soldiers clenched their weapons and frowned. Because they couldn't see anything, they had to rely on their other senses.

The soldiers weren't the only ones who were taken aback by this; the soldiers and werewolves in the valley all looked up to the mountains when they noticed a bright light flashing on top of the mountains. Spencer and Ash both came to a halt and stared up at the sudden light. With a frown and a puzzled expression, Ash and the werewolves observed this. They have no idea what is going on.

After a few minutes of blinding light and silence, the light faded and everything resumed as if nothing had happened.

That is, for the people in the valley.

"H-holy shit..."

"Bones... Bones!"

"Dear God, what is happening..."

The army and commander on top of the mountains were all taken aback by the sudden appearance of bone beasts beside them. Their eyes shook as they watched the massive monster bones slowly walk forward and then stop beside them. When the captain looked at how many bone monsters there were, he saw an endless trail of bones that he couldn't see the end of. When he saw this, the captain gulped.

"Where is Commander Luke?"

When the captain looked up, his eyes widened as he noticed a person standing calmly on top of the large winged bone monster. The man is holding vines that act as reins on the massive bone monster, and he appears to be the leader of this horrifying bone army.

Leader... Bones... Control. This can only have one meaning.

"N-necromancer..."

The soldiers around the captain looked at him with trembling eyes and dropped jaws. They are speechless, unable to express how shocking this new unexpected force is.

• That is right captain, meet Jay Luther. The Necromancer.

The captain gulped and looked at the magic device that is on top of his shaking and cold palms. He then noticed Luke's calm expression as he looked at him.

• Captain, I need you all to trust Jay and ride the bone monsters.

The captain gulped again and took a deep breath. What kind of war are they fighting... First, werewolves appear unexpectedly... And now, a necromancer. Is it still necessary to use humans in this battle?

"Are you guys going to hop in or not?"

The captain flinched and looked at Jay, who spoke suddenly. He then looked at Jay's calm orange eyes, which were fixed on him. Jay then spoke once more.

"We need to fulfill the commander's orders. This is not a game; human lives are at stake if we do not act quickly."

After Jay's sentence, the captain closed his eyes and took several deep breaths. He then re-opens them, makes a hardened face, and hops on the nearest bone monster, and puts his reins around the bone monster's mouth. The soldiers were taken aback, but the captain was unconcerned and raised his voice.

"All soldiers! Ride the bone monsters!!!"

After clenching their fists, the soldiers all came to a halt and made determined faces. They then all hopped on the nearest bone monsters nearby and took the reins with a fearless expression on their faces.

This is war, and they don't have time to consider whether or not they are safe. All they should be thinking about is their kingdom and family, who are eagerly awaiting their return and victory. If they are afraid of riding these bones, they should be even more afraid of the countless lives that will be lost if the enemies win. That thought is too much for them to bear.

Furthermore, this is one of their commander's trusted allies. How dare they cast doubt on him simply because he is a necromancer?! Their commander demonstrated equality a thousand times, and they should be ashamed if they did not understand his message that not all dark beings are bad after his countless sacrifices for them.

The soldiers' faces became serious as they clenched their teeth and gripped the reins. They then heard their captain's commanding and resolute voice once more.

"Let us put our trust in our beloved commander and launch Operation 'White Landslide!!!"

"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!"
