Chapter 102: Destruction(4)

"Achoo!"

When Luke felt the chills, he rubbed his nose. He only grumbled and continued down the stairs.

'How come this staircase is so long?'

Luke scowled; he'd been strolling down this stairwell for a while and still couldn't see the end. Luke simply sighed and continued his descent.

He finally reached the bottom after a few minutes. Luke breathed a sigh of relief and turned to face the door at the end of a dark hallway lit only by torches. Luke moved calmly forward till he reached the doorknob. He then carefully twisted and opened it.

"Now, what is inside this- what the hell?"

Luke remained still, his gaze fixed on the room in front of him. He notices a variety of bottles packed with vibrant substances, as well as blueprints on the wall. He could also see strange instruments and equipment within, but the big pile of flesh in the center of the room stood out the most.

The flesh was kept in a huge water container with tubes attached to it. Luke was disgusted by the flesh in the container, but instead of leaving, he continued to look around.

Luke came to a halt when he noticed a few sealed documents and books on the table; they appeared to be essential, so he quickly stuffed them into his pocket. He suddenly came to a halt in front of a desk brimming with strange-looking liquids in bottles.

He skipped over the bottles that didn't seem vital until his gaze came to a halt somewhere. He then turned his attention to the two purple glowing bottles contained behind a glass cabinet. Luke took a step closer and cautiously slid the glass cabinet open. He then took one of the bottles in his hands and inspected it thoroughly. The liquid appeared to be nothing, yet it must be significant because it is contained within a glass cabinet.

Luke decided to keep it in his pocket and check on it later with Erdene. He then turned his attention to the remaining bottle. He only requires one, thus the other is unnecessary.

Luke then took another look around the room and concluded that there was nothing valuable remaining, so he exited. He then ascended the stairs once more until he reached the outside. Luke frowned and turned to walk away, but...

Pak!

"Ugh!"

When Luke felt something heavy hit his skull, he slammed to the ground. Then he felt hot streams of liquid trickling from his skull, which he recognized as his blood.

'What the hell happened?'

Luke's consciousness began to fade as he processed this.

"Oh, dear..."

The man and the pink-haired man then stared nervously at Luke, who was unconscious and bleeding on the floor. The man then nervously bit his nails while speaking.

"I swear I didn't mean it! I mistook him for an enemy and hurled a rock at him!"

With astonishment, the pink-haired man gazed at his worried associate. As soon as they entered the area, they noticed a hole in the floor and were about to enter when they noticed a man exiting. They mistook him for an enemy and threw a rock at his head to knock him out, but the man turned out to be the silver man they were set to meet.

"Oh shit, I fucked up."

"Is he all right? Is he no longer alive?"

The pink-haired man disregarded the man and concentrated on Luke's head wound. Because his partner threw a large rock, blood continues to flow from his skull. He needed to move quickly or they'd be discovered.

"Hey Adam, what does this mean?"

Spencer took a look around at the dozens of mages that surrounded him. Adam seems to have called in reinforcements in the middle of their fight, trapping Spencer.

Adam's triumphant laugh could then be heard by Spencer.

"Ahahaha! What happened to your obnoxious and arrogant demeanor?!"

Spencer clicked his tongue and began to examine each of the mages in his immediate vicinity. Paliath's magicians were all among them.

Spencer was about to become serious when he remembered Luke's warning. Spencer just let out a sigh.

'I guess I don't have much of an option but to flee.'

"What is that?"

Spencer then aimed his finger in the direction of the horizon. The mages, and even Adam, turned around to take a look. Spencer gazed at them in surprise, but then bolted while they were looking around.

'Have these guys been sufficiently trained?'

While flying away, Spencer thought on the dumb pile of mages staring in the direction he pointed. But it didn't take long for them to discover he'd left and yelled.

"He's taking off!"

"What?! Follow him!"

"How dare you deceive us, you scumbag!"

Spencer rolled his eyes as he flew towards the tower; he then noticed Liam running with Lina, implying that they had completed their tasks as well.

Spencer was recognized by Liam and Lina, who turned to face the horde of mages pursuing them. Liam then inquired, his gaze falling on the mages in their rear.

"What happened?"

"Some wimp was frightened of going 1v1 with me, so he summoned reinforcements. How about you? Why are you carrying Lina? Has she been hurt?"

Spencer then fixed his gaze on Lina, her right eye constantly touched. Her right eye wasn't hurt or anything, but she kept touching it as if checking something.

Liam remained silent for a few periods before responding.

"I'll tell you later; we have to see brother first, and he's taking a long time."

"Now that you've brought it up, what is that jerk up to? I thought he'd have Nash take care of destroying the tower?"

Spencer and Liam both had a sudden thought. They began to frown after that. They had a hunch about what was going on inside that tower.

"Something bad must have happened to that jerk."
