The Lunch Date

" Mother. I won't go on a date with Jing Wen.

Mother, you weren't like this before"

" Hui Hui you have to go. Jing Wen, she's such a good girl and I want her to be my daughter-in-law"

'Mother I wanted to give you a far more precious daughter-in-law but why aren't you giving me time to pursue her ' Yanhui thought as a wave of sadness washed over her face.

A date with Jing Wen. How she wished it was Lin Yun. Her precious smile. and slender hands, how she wished to see them and how she wished to hold them.

Jing Wen was quite excited about the date. She loved Yanhui since she saw her at a business banquet. Her love became an obsession as she tried to destroy every single person who approached her. A white lotus who hid her vicious fangs. At the new CEO welcoming ceremony, many girls tried to talk to Yanhui but every one of them was stopped by Jing Wen and her team. They poured a glass of wine all over the clothes of a girl who tried talking to the new CEO, another girl was accused of adultery and her family business collapsed just because of someone's jealousy. Jing Wen's facade of good girl was only noticed by one person. Gu Yanhui. The person she wanted to hide her real self from. but even she didn't know that all along yanhui knew everything.

Jing Wen's health was quite weak. Though she was a top 10 beauty in town she was sick since she was a child. the only thing that's good about her except her beauty was her omega genes. Her fertility rate was unusually high though usually it will be low for someone like her.

Jing Wen's pitiful appearance made everyone's hearts melt with sympathy. But she enjoyed it. she enjoyed the care and affection she got from everyone.

it was noo. Yanhui felt guilty for going on a date with Jing when her mind was full of someone else. She called Jing Wen and asked her about the exact location.

Jing Wen and Yanhui were supposed to meet at the Su Dong cafe. it was a cafe where rich people used to go on dates with their girlfriends, boyfriends or wives though going with someone else's wife was also their option as cheating wasn't a new thing in this community. It was also a place where gossip are born.

Yanhui reached the destination in time, she called Jing wen but she didn't answer her phone suddenly Yanhui heard a voice calling her. " CEO Gu" It was a familiar voice. It was a voice she loved to hear, as smooth as honey but calm as an ocean.

'Lin Yun'

A smile blossomed on her lips as she saw the person who stood there with a cup of coffee.

"Ms Yun, We meet again"

Lin Yun smiled at her words.

" So ...CEO Gu has an appointment here?"

" No Miss Yun, I have a date with someone "

Lin Yun suddenly had a pang in her heart

'date' She felt an unknown sorrow wash over her but she kept her smile.

" Oh that person must be a lucky one "

this time Yanhui felt the pain. She didn't want the person she loves to set her up with someone else and congratulate them. No one wants that.

" No Miss Yun you are flattering me I didn't want to go on a date. My parents forced me that's why I'm here."

Lin Yun nodded at her reply. Unknown to them another person was also watching their conversation.

Jing Wen was searching for Yanhui. She purposefully didn't answer the phone so that she could give her a mini surprise but just as she was about approach her she saw Yanhui chatting with another girl. A pang of jealousy hit her as her smile faded into a frown and her

fists were clenched. She gritted her teeth while her gaze tore the unfamiliar girl in front of her into pieces. if looks could kill her eyes where the definition. She composed herself and went rushing towards Yanhui who was chatting happily.

"Yan hui jie jie"

Yanhui heard the High pitched voice calling her name.

" Ah Jing Wen you are here "

she nodded as she smiled

Jing Wen abruptly got hold of the alpha's arms as she clung towards her. Yanhui felt uncomfortable at this unannounced action of Jing Wen.

" Jie Jie who is this young lady "

Yanhui hesitantly said

" She's an acquaintance of mine. Lin Yun this is Jing Wen. Jing Wen this is Lin Yun"

" nice to meet you" Jing Wen smiled as she greeted the stranger. The Stanger greeted her back. Though she didn't know much about the young lady besides the CEO her instincts told her that the person is quite dangerous. To not make the matter any worse Lin Yun parted with them while she said goodbye. While

Walking back she noticed the daggers of glares the young lady was throwing at her peripheral vision.

Jing Wen partially heard the conversation between the two individually "I didn't want to go on a date . My parents" especially that part. She heard it, nice and clear. But she pretended to not hear a thing.

the lunch date, as expected only had one person speaking. It was Jing Wen who spoke about her jewellery and friends whereas yan hui nodded at her words in agreement though she didn't listen to a single thing. After the date yanhui had some pending work to do in the office hence she dropped Jing Wen in front of her house and left for the office.

Jing Wen smiled while she waved her hands as she said goodbye. But soon her smile disappeared which was now replaced with a scowl. She called a person on her phone.

" Lu heng, investigate a person called Lin Yun "

Lin Yun was back at her office after going for a walk she sipped her milk tea while enjoying the boba pearls in it. Lin Yun finished her seventh file of assessment today. The assessment was actually for the last batch of security gadgets which had to be delivered to the Gu co-operation. It was truly a headache.

As she finished the 12th batch which was the last one she let out a satisfied groan.

that was when she checked the time 'Oh shoot it's 6:50 . Boss might have already gone with others "

She quickly closed her system and was about to head out when she noticed the silhouette of a sturdy man.

" eh who is that?" she questioned

the stranger came out from the dark

It was Kai.

" Boss you didn't leave, others had already left"

Kai didn't answer it but he asked her another question.

" Did you finish your work"

She answered

"y-yes"

"Then let's go "

" b-but boss"

"Is there any problem?"

She shook her head as her eyes met his cold gaze.

The ride to the hotel was quite awkward.

The one who made it awkward was Kai.

He wanted to initiate conversations with Lin Yun but he didn't know how. He knew nothing about her likes or dislikes. He never had to know these things about his partners as they were all one-week stands just a bit longer than the one-night ones.

When they reached the hotel everyone gasped as they saw their boss with Lin Yun.

" eh isn't that our team leader"

" wait the other man is our boss"

" don't they look cute together "

" yeah you are right"

" ahh my hubby you found someone but I'll wish you happiness," another person said as they all burst into laughter

The man in the suit with a serious expression was walking with the elegant lady in a yellow dress. They looked perfect together in other people's eyes. The crew went silent as the wonderful pair approached.

The dinner went as usual. Some were drunk and some were singing. A few of them fell asleep while a few enjoyed the views. Lin Yun who was sober laughed as her colleagues played silly games.

Kai observed the smiling girl as she clapped her hands. He silently chuckled realising how silly he has become.

Lin Yun excused herself as she wanted to use

the washroom. There she met with a familiar face.

" if it isn't Miss Lin " the girl in the red in front of her smirked as she talked to Lin Yun.

It was Mu Yanli. She was the one who bullied her at the banquet. Yanhui rescued her at that time but after that Mu Yanli continued to bully her. Lin Yun believed that Mu Yanli played a part in her kidnapping though it wasn't proven. But her bullying stopped when Lin Yun entered the college. Mu Yanli went abroad. Hence she had a peaceful college life but now she's back again.

" Still a slut?. the only thing you will be good at was 'fucking'right?"

mu Yanli mockingly asked as means of humiliating her

Lin Yun replied

" It's the opposite Mu Yanli, I'm not a slut because I don't give a fuck"

Mu Yanli was raging with anger. Just as she was about to hit Lin Yun. A group of girls came inside the washroom interrupting them.

Mu Yanli left disappointed as she couldn't teach Lin Yun a good lesson.

Lin Yun went back to her table as she finished her business.

back at the table, all her colleagues were wasted.

She slowly got up from her seat and was about to leave when Kai stopped her

" Lin Yun I'll drop you"

" Boss that's fine I'll go alone and also you are drunk so you'll get in trouble if you drive"

" oh then I'll arrange a car for you"

" boss that's unnecessary "

Kai didn't listen to her and called the agency to arrange a car. Lin Yun sighed in defeat as she couldn't object to her stubborn boss.
