"Interesting" Mavin muttered softly with a smirk in his office

"You seem happier than usual my lord... Did something happen?" said a butler that could be shown to be close to him

"Hehe, weren't you standing next to me during dinner Gary?" "... Do you remember when I tested Zen by telling him that I wanted to adopt him?"

"You mean when you were checking him out?" Gary said in confusion however Mavin then put on a deep smile and said

"Indeed.... hehe, There is a high chance that he has some secrets considering the fact that he had refused to be adopted by me.... Why would someone with no background like him not want to be adopted by me? He could enjoy Wealth, Fame and Power however.. He refused."

"... Didn't we do a thorough background check on him though? there was nothing suspicious other than the fact that he was too talented for someone with no resourced" said Gary in a concerned tone.

Mavin's eyes glinted... Indeed he has been investigating Zen and found nothing suspicious.... So why is he so suspicious about Zen? The answer to that is because of his experiences... Mavin is someone that started from the lower ladder that went through trials to reach up to where he is now. He could easily tell that there was something wrong with Zen and to give his theory an even bigger push.... His son Ray who has the A rank Gift [Instinct] even told him that he seemed dangerous.

"....Hu-Huh?! You mean all this time Ray was actually scheming against him? …. The Young Master truly is a genius!" Said Gary in a surprised tone before making a happy expression.

"Hehe.... If only My daughter Ayla could also be like him... She is also talented but alas... She is too arrogant" Said Mavin happy about his Son before turning into a disappointed expression towards his daughter.

"Isn't the reason why you wanted Zen to go the auction also because you wanted Ayla to get closer to him to realize her own naivety?" Gary said after pondering.

"As expected of you Gary!, you really know me well haha" Said Mavin with a grin

"Anyways, How about we got down to the training room hmm? hehe It should nearly be time for them to fight... I'm really curious to see just how strong that Zen is to be considered as a beast by the thugs and local people" Mavin said with the expression of a devil

"Then allow me to guide you My lord" Gary said with a smile also looking forward to the duel.

"Good, as usual, Make sure to investigate the people coming in. And make sure that the VIP's are comfortable. We can't bring the Grace family to shame after all." A strong looking man with short red hair and a serious expression said.

"Also, I want you to bring my daughter to me right now"

"Your Daughter?" Replied the respectful man
