CHAPTER 3: WHAT A SURPRISE!

Sophie was busy at the clinic as always. Many patients were coming for check-up and delivering babies. She loses tracks thinking about Ronald for a while. It was her last patient for the day when she was giving her some prescribed vitamins for her and the baby in her tummy.

"You have to drink these vitamins once a day after meal. You are lack of iron and eat more nutritious fruits and vegetables too." Sophie said as she handed it to her patient. "Be sure to be here as schedule written in your pregnancy booklet okay." She smiled.

"Thank you, Dr. Sophie. I will come back on the said date." She replied. The pregnant woman stood up and went outside her office.

She closed her eyes for a while. Four days has passed since the last time Ronald came to her. It was not usual to them when they got a fight it is first, thou.

'Does she really love Ronald?' She keeps on thinking about it. Asking herself a million times. She was even waiting for his proposal actually but why she could not give him what he wants if she loves him. Her mind was also confusing but she could not let it be.

It was quite her fault because in two years kissing and touching was the only thing, she could give to him. He did not even bother to complain but that night was his special occasion of him that she rejected him.

She sighed as she opened her eyes and looked at her wristwatch. It was past six o'clock in the evening she knew that Ronald was still in the office. He usually goes home at 8pm and goes straight to her place. She still has the time to visit him and talk about their misunderstanding.

She grabbed her bag and walked out from her office. Her secretary stood up as she saw her out. "You closed the clinic as you go home. I have to go somewhere." She told her secretary. "See you tomorrow."

"Okay, Dra. Sophie. Goodnight."

Sophie raised her hand then waved as she walked out from her clinic.

She reached Ronald's working place in about 15 minutes. It was nearer to the hospital. She already knew what floor he is because she always visits him every now and then.

As she reached the floor, the elevator opened. She saw her secretary as she walks out. She was walking towards the elevator. It seems she is going home seeing her bag on her shoulder.

The secretary smiled at her. "Is Mr. Ronald Co still at his office?" Sophie asked. Ronald's secretary was nice and always smiling whenever she saw her. "Are you going home?"

"Yes, Dra. Sophie. He is still at the office." She replied. "Yes, I am going home. My husband was waiting for me downstairs. Good night."

"Good night and take care." Sophie walked forward.

'Husband? What a word! But do I see myself getting married if Ronald proposes?'

There were few people in the department Ronald handles. They were busy with their works that they did not even notice at her as she passed by their cubicles.

Ronald's office was at the end that they did not even see who walks in. She opened the door stepped towards the secretary table that the office of Ronald was the next door. She wanted to surprised him and patch up their misunderstandings. Of course, she will be the one to do the first move.

She was about to turn the door knob. However, she heard something else inside his office. It was groaning and moaning with two people. Her heartbeat was pounding so fast and her hands were trembling as she quickly opened the door.

What a surprise!

This is not she imagine. This is not what she is expecting. This is not happening.

Sophie eyes were totally in shocked. Seeing her boyfriend Ronald having sex inside his office both half naked. She was planning to reconcile to him.

Instead, seeing him on top of the woman in his desk. This is crazy he was having sex with his co-worker.

They stopped as soon as the door opened and immediately puts their clothes on.

Sophie did not wait any longer she walked out from his office without turning back. She did not stop walking even Ronald called her name. It was hurt knowing that her boyfriend for two years was cheating on her.

She could not imagine that he did it to her. Her tears started to fall as she stepped inside her car. She drove fast away from the building. She stopped to a park near the apartment. She stayed her crying and sobbing.

Meanwhile, Henley arrived not long ago with a fling. He was about to close the door when Ronald pushed it hard to open. He goes to Sophie's room Henley was shocked.

"Sophie, Sophie." Ronald said but the room was empty. "Where is Sophie?" He turned to Henley to ask.

"I do not know why you are looking for her?" Henley sensed that something is wrong about the two. It has been days; he did not see Ronald visiting her since then.

Ronald did not answer but walked out from the apartment. Henley faced the woman, "Hey, why don't you go home for now. I have something important to do. I will call you later." He said kissing her cheek.

The woman frowned as she left. Henley dialed Sophie's number. It rings many times but she did not answer. He dialed again until she picked up.

"Hey bro, where are you?" He said while her voice was cracking. He knew she was crying.

"A-At the park." She replied.

"Stay there I am coming." Henley rushed out from his place. He did not bring his car since it was just few blocks away from the apartment.

He saw Sophie's car at the side of the road. She was leaning at the steering wheel and he knew she was still crying. He knocked the driver's window and Sophie looked up.

She unlocked the door Henley immediately open then hugged her. Henley's heart was crumple-seeing Sophie like this. It was not her at all. She was so strong person and this is the first time he saw this situation.

"Brooo" Sophie voice trembled as she speaks.

She cried and cried nonstop; he let her cry out so that it releases whatever things hurt her. He did not ask what happen or what the real problem but he just there to comfort her.

It took an hour before Sophie calmly down. Henley was now sitting at the driver's seat while Sophie was at the passenger's side. Her seat was a little bit lower for her to lie down her back. She was looking outside without words come out from their mouth.

Henley opened up first. "Bro, would you like to take a few days' vacation?" he suggested as he stared Sophie.

She turned her head to him and nodded. 'She really needs a break from this heartbreaking situation she has right now. She could not concentrate her work if her mind was troubled.

"Where do you want to go?" He asked. "You want to go to S City?"

She nodded. "I want go to the beach." She suggested.

"Okay." He agreed. "Let's go home and pack few things and headed early morning. How is that?" He smiled.

Henley started the engine and headed to the apartment.
