CHAPTER 4: SHORT VACATION

Sophie fell asleep as soon as she goes to her room. While Henley was busy packing his clothes for a few days. He even packed Sophie clothes too.

Seeing her face melted his heart. It was sadness shows around her face. But she was not crying anymore. He sleeps beside her until morning. He slowly got up around six in the morning and prepared their breakfast.

He grabbed his phone then leaves a message to his secretary. He will accompany Sophie for a few days for her to relax and forget about the problem.

He called Ocean last night asking for his permission to stay at his beach house and he said yes. He did not say why and told him that he will ask his assistant to give him the keys.

He walks to her room and texted her secretary too for notification of leaving a few days. He strokes her hair again then brushed her cheek. Sophie woke up with his touch and stared at him.

"Come on, let's have breakfast and heading early on the road." He smiled.

"You are going with me to the S City." Sophie asked without blinking.

"Yes, I will go with you." He answered her.

"What about you work? They need you in the hospital. You don't have to go with me. I can handle it my own." She insists.

"No, it doesn't matter. I can take a leave and I want to be with you." He said and pulled her up.

Sophie did not argue. He follows him as he grabbed her to the dining room. It was quickly breakfast. Afraid that Ronald will come early again. She is not ready to face him for a moment. Henley did prepare her clothes while she was sleeping.

They used Henley's car as they went off to the road. "Where are we going?" She softly asked. Henley's eyes looked straight back on the road.

"I already asked Ocean about staying to his beach house and he will send his assistant for the keys." He told her.

"Oh!"

Her phone rang and it shows on the screen. Ronald's number on it. She did not answer but she muted her phone. However, she changed her mind she turned it off; her mind could not think straight right now. It is better to be this way that seeing her phone with some calls and text from her ex.

Henley smirked as he saw Sophie turned off her phone. She did make the right decision; Ronald was a jerk that is why he does not like him for her. She could not tell Sophie about it because even they are friend. He could not go beyond the limit of their friendship. He also respects her with her personal life.

Sophie was quiet the whole trip and he did not disturb her. He did not know why but he set aside his duty as a surgeon just to stay with his best girl-friend / buddy. He was a womanizer for God's sake. He is not intentional to fall for Sophie but it just happens.

When they were in college, he thinks that was not the starting point. He looks at her differently. He loves women and having sex in a short while but nothing serious. He looks at Sophie as a platonic relationship even when she had relationship with men. It was fine with him. But when things get seriously with her relationship with Ronald for two years. He was scared that they will end up getting marriage and that he does not know why.

Sophie sat at the sun lounger chair facing at the beach. She was there as soon as they arrived. He let Henley goes inside the beach house.

She needs fresh air to refreshing her mind for a while. She was hurt and devastated. This is her first time feeling like this. Maybe it just the pride. She does actually hurt because Ronald was the only relationship that lasted long. Some were just a short time that passed like a wind.

Well, she waited for him to propose right or maybe it was just her thinking that she loves him deeply because all of her friends were married.

She was quite confused. Staring at the peaceful water her mind slowly enlighten. Maybe this few days' vacation will help her to loosen some stress not just to herself but to her work too.

When she lifted up her head, Henley was holding a tray in his hands. She already guesses what it is. A smile on his face that she was stared at him for a while. She found him cute and attractive all of the sudden that her heart was wavering.

She quickly snapped her mind about it. 'What was she thinking?'

Henley put down the tray with foods he cooked when they arrived. He let Sophie alone for a while so that she will calm her heart and reflect herself. She needed it.

It was the best place for her to do that in front of the water. They were alone at the beach so it will help her for a quiet environment.

He just finished cooking. He already asked Ocean a favor to let his assistance to buy some ingredients and foods for them. He was lucky enough to have a friend like family. He did not waste any time to bring it to Sophie who was still sitting at the lounger.

She looked a little bit okay now and he was glad. This place really helps her somehow. He placed the foods in the table beside the lounger. She ate a little and drinks some coffee during breakfast. He handed Sophie the chopstick and spoon. He was happy that she set up straight and started to grab some foods on the table.

Her tummy was growling when Henley handed her the chopstick and spoon. She did not eat properly since last night and this was just light breakfast.

That was so stupid of her because of stupid circumstances. She did grab some food and put it her mouth.

'Oh God I was so hungry.' Her thought said while chewing it inside her mouth. They were silently eating concentrate with the foods. She knew that Henley is a good cook and she already proven that. Since they were living in the same apartment. Many times, he cooked for their foods whenever he has spare time. She was glad that Henley was there in time of her down fall.

Henley smiled stared again at her. She eats a lot actually his efforts were worth it. There were no foods left on the table. He pretends not to notice but Sophie did aware.

She suddenly laughed, "Oh my gosh! What just happened?"

Henley burst laughing when he guesses what she means. "Now, you are smiling and I am glad to see that smile again."

Sophie glanced at him. "Thank you, bro, for everything you have done to me."

"You are welcome bro." Henley smiled. "You want to drink a beer or hard." He asked. "Since it was past 5 in the afternoon why do we go inside or stay here unwind a little with liquor."

Sophie was thinking before replying him. "Well, yes we will drink to the limit since it was our vacation so we should stay inside the house."

"Alright let's go." He said as soon as Sophie tried to grab the food tray. "No, I will be the one will carry this."
