Chapter 29: No More Secrets

Jade's POV: I knew I was compelled to tell Charles how I felt about everything, but he didn't compel me to tell him how I really felt about him, I did that on my own. I smiled and told him, "I'm in love with you Charles." His mouth hung open in disbelief. I then said, "I wasn't compelled to say that you know. And I do mean it, but I want no more secrets between us!" Charles smirked and said, "No more secrets!" I smiled. Charles continued, "Also Jade, I love you too!" I let a happy sigh of relief and said, "What do we do now?" I bit my lip and Charles answered, "We do this-" He cut himself off with a kiss. He grabbed my waist and pulled me closer to him. I threw my arms around his neck and he picked me up. Charles slammed me against the wall and kissed down my neck. I took off his shirt and then my own and he continued to kiss me passionately...

Charles' POV: I was waiting for Jade to tell me to stop, but she didn't. We weren't ready for this part of our relationship yet, first we needed to get out all of the drama with my family, then we move to this. "Jade, not tonight okay? We should focus on something else." Jade sighed and replied, "If you're seriously thinking about your family while you're kissing my neck I'll be very upset!" We laughed and I walked to the desk in our hotel room. Jade grabbed the safe and asked, "Now you have to tell me, what's in this safe that is preventing you from letting me open it?" Before I answered her question I said, "I'll tell you, but first you have to promise me that no matter what, you will not use or try to use what's in that safe." "I promise." As those words left Jade's mouth I took a deep breathe on preparing what I was about to tell her. I said, "Okay. I know for a fact that the comb is in that safe, I was there when Shania put the spell on it, I was also there when she tore out two pages from her spell book and put them in along with the comb. The first spell she put in the safe was one that unleashed the magic from the comb." There was a moment of silence in which Jade was waiting for me to say the second spell I asked, "Are you ready to hear the second spell?" She nodded her head anxiously and I continued, "Why don't we just open the safe and I'll explain it then."

Jade's POV: After Charles said that we should open the safe I realized that we don't know how. But I came up with a perfect solution. I said to Charles, "Shania created her own spell to seal the safe shut, what if I did the same in order to de-spell the safe! Would it work?" Charles was shocked at what I just said. He answered, "I'm not sure if it would work completely. You're definitely strong enough, but I'm worried that if you wedge the door open for access to that power then you might lose control. It's just a precaution." I took a second to think about it and decided, "I think that it's worth a risk. Can you bring me my spell book please. That way I can write down my spell." Charles nodded his head and I wrote in the book. This spell would allow any witch to siphon the magic out of something with only a few words. I finished it and showed Charles, he said it looked good and that I should try it now. I layed my hands on the safe, I rehearsed the spell and whispered it to myself. After a few times the safe door opened. I immediately pulled out everything that was inside of it and found exactly what Charles described, two spells and the glass hair comb. I recognized the spell that was labeled with the glass hair comb, then I glanced at the second spell, it was quickly ripped out of my hands by Charles who said, "Allow me to explain this spell." I nodded my head and gripped the hair comb as Charles started talking. He began his explanation, "This spell was used by Shania, she was famous for creating new spells, this one however is the reason it took her so long to close the safe. She needed to tap into dark magic in order to perform this spell, and then she had to put the darkness inside the comb, that's why it took her nearly ten years to close it." I raised my eyebrows and said, "Enough with the teases, just tell me what the spell was!" Charles took a deep breath and continued, "A death spell. Shania was able to create a spell that could kill multiple human beings in order to access massacre magic. It's a special type that has to take 15 human lives to consume dark magic. But the catch is, you take in so much darkness that all you can think about is death and killing people. For a vampire it doesn't matter, but this is witch business so it just makes them murderers. Shania just took the easy route and spent nearly ten years gathering up ingredients to create a dark spell that killed 15 people so she could have control over that dark magic." "Is that all? What did she need the magic for?" I asked, intrigued. Charles replied, "Shania took 15 lives to access dark magic in order to desiccate a special type of vampire-" I cut in, "You mean a-" Charles continued, "Yes. An original vampire like myself. Shania desiccated one of my sisters because she was out of control, killing anyone who gave her the wrong look. Then, so nobody could wake her up she shut her page with the spell written on it inside the safe and spelled it shut!" My mouth dropped at his words. Another sister, massacres, death, that's a lot to take in...
