Chapter 8 Eddie frowned slightly as he tried to focus on the road ahead of him. Ever since Lisa had started acting strangely,he had felt increasingly anxious that she might get hurt. As much as he had tried to convince himself that he had nothing to worry about,he simply couldn't shake the feeling. After all,this situation had happened many times before and he had never failed Lisa,but he knew that it was likely that this time it may be very different. For example,Lisa had always managed to get out of every situation perfectly fine,because she had never known that she was going to meet any problems that she was not prepared for. She had never seen the dangers that could surround her without knowing about it beforehand,so it seemed unlikely that she was going to be able to cope with this one. Eddie felt a surge of panic course through him at that realisation. This could mean that he was about to lose her and for the second time. He needed to make sure that everything was okay. He quickly pulled up his phone and dialed Barry's number.",Barry! Something's wrong! We need help! Please come pick us up,we need help!"",He said urgently after listening to the response from the other end of the line.",Okay...I'll be right there!"",Barry promised and then hung up. Not wasting a minute,Barry sped home and jumped out of the car once he parked it. He ran up the driveway and rang the bell,waiting patiently as the door opened.",Barry! Where have you been! I've been calling you for almost an hour! I was starting to think something bad had happened to you!"",Barry apologized,rubbing the back of his head anxiously and giving a small smile. "Nothing has happened,but I need your help. You gotta get Eddie and Lisa to safety,and fast!",Barry pleaded urgently,"Is something wrong!?"",Barry panicked slightly when Barry noticed that Eddie was nowhere to be found.",Where's Eddie?". Barry hesitated,before finally answering:"He uh...isn't home right now. I haven't seen him since earlier this morning. Is something wrong?"",Barry replied nervously",I'll explain everything to you guys once you get to safety. For now,we need to take Lisa with us so she can tell us what is going on."Barry followed Barry as they rushed inside the house,followed closely by Joe and Iris. Barry grabbed Lisa's good arm and pulled her along after him,leading the way out of the house. They headed towards the nearest alley,the alley that led to the exit of the neighbourhood. When they reached the alleyway,Barry immediately took out his cellphone,which he had taken with him. Barry pressed speed dial 919 and waited until someone answered.",Hello",Eddie sounded relieved once he heard the voice on the other side of the phone."Where the hell have you been!? We were freaking out over where you guys were",said Eddie in a panicky manner once he finally came to a stop.",Look, I'll explain everything later,just hurry to the address I'm sending you and you won't ever want to leave us again..."",the other end of the line fell silent. Barry listened for a few seconds before asking. "...Are you there? Can you hear me?""...Yeah I'm here...wait...let me read it back to you...",was all that he heard before the caller hung up."Alright,that was a bit weird",Barry told them with an uncertain expression on his face",What was that all about?",asked Joe".Something doesn't seem right",was all that Eddie replied with a worried look on his face."Let's just get going",he added before leading the way back into the street.",Why don't you wait here for us while we go and grab our things",Barry said as they entered the house."I don't want to go back into that building. I'm afraid that it would be too dangerous. If something happens to you because I'm waiting here,I won't forgive myself",said Iris nervously,"But Lisa needs us..."",Barry said,"No...she needs Eddie.",Joe interjected",He has to stay here and look after Lisa. If anything should happen to us,who knows when he can save her",Eddie added stubbornly"Fine then,if you insist",Joe replied with a sigh. Everyone walked upstairs together and into Barry's apartment where Barry began grabbing some essentials while Eddie put on the police helmet he had gotten earlier from a friend and helped Joe load up the truck."We better be quick. If someone finds us and decides to check this place thoroughly,it won't take long till they realise that no one came in or left.",said Joe as he got into the driver's seat and put the truck in drive. They drove off slowly down the road,trying to keep calm."Do you guys think they'll try to follow us?",asked Eddie after a few minutes silence."Maybe",answered Joe,as he kept staring forward",Or maybe he just wanted us out of the way and didn't even care whether we escaped or not.
