First class (Transfiguration)

The end of class came and all the students got out of the class except for Connor. He had a question itching at the back of his head and the little alcohol he had taken was enough to give him courage to ask something of the professor.

"Professor Flitwick" His voice made the professor turn around as he was putting somethings away,

"Ah yes what can I do for you, mister Reign?" Flitwick sounded almost happy that he came to talk to him even more.

"Well you see, I simply have to know, do we truly have an answer?" He didn't really mention the question to which the answer he needed but the professor understood anyways.

"Would magic be magic if we knew?" That made Connor think, and while he was deep in thought Flitwick continued "You should run along, if I'm not mistaken you have transfiguration right now, you wouldn't want to miss that"

Connor snapped out of it and quickly made his way back to the group.

"That was bloody amazing Connor" Said an impressed Hannah "I could barely cast the spell at the end of the class yet you did so, so easily"

"Yeah, I'm kind of jealous, it took me like twenty tries before I was able to conjure up the spell" Susan said, without a trace of actual jealousy.

"Well it was kind of easy, I could always try to help you guys, but it is mostly instinctual" Connor remarked, he didn't want to help them actually, but it wouldn't be bad to have a couple of friends.

They all made a little bit of chit chat and got into the transfiguration class, where Connor saw Mcgonnagal in her animagus form, which honestly was a magic he truly wanted to learn, but he would have to wait, a lot.

It seemed like they shared this class with the gryffindors, and wouldn't you know it he sat right in front of the class, and had no partner just like a gryffindor whose name shall already be known.

As time was finishing there were still two students missing Harry Potter and Ron Weasley.

A few minutes after the class started the two entered the classroom.

"We are lucky that McGonagall is not here yet" Exclaimed Ron only to be surprised as the cat who was sitting on the desk jumped up and transformed into Mcgonagall.

They had their little argument and then the class started, with the professor going over the basics to do transfiguration, and what can and cannot be transfigured.

A little after they were given their first practical assignment and McGonagall got ready to watch over this like a hawk she wouldn't want to miss any student portraying either talent or difficulty with the task.

They were supposed to turn a matchstick into a needle, extremely easy for Connor who as soon as he got the matchstick started to concentrate, and a few seconds later, a perfect needle stood in it's place.

"Professor" Called Connor "May I have another matchstick"

McGonagall quickly made her way towards the youngster and when she saw he already had a needle she was more than shocked, she had a few prodigies in her class, one being James Potter but even he took at least ten tries to do the spell, but even then, why would he need more matchsticks.

"Espectacular mister Reign, you seem to have a talent but may I ask why you need another matchstick"

"I want to master the spell and for that I need more practice"

Professor McGonagall was now truly shocked. Normally a prodigy slacks off given the chance, they use the time to do the homework or simply slack off, but here a student was asking for more work.

In her time at Hogwarts this was the first time she's seen someone actually try to master a spell while having talent at it, and she could already see the potential in the boy.

McGonagall gave him ten matches and told him to outdo himself in the end he only transfigured two, one which had at the end instead of a tip the Hogwarts crest in extreme detail and another one which simply had a beautiful scenery.

When the class came to an end McGonagall came to check on the progress than by Connor and she found herself in disbelief, this was beyond first year transfiguration, the amount of detail it had was amazing, it may be a simple transfiguration but he took it to another level, in the first class he ever had.

And as Connor was exiting the classroom he got called out

"Mister Reign, ten points to Hufflepuff for an excellent transfiguration"

After the two classes ended the first years headed towards the common room where they could already see people eating and chatting, so they joined in.

Connor sat himself with Hannah and Susan who both began gossiping and what could he say as a morally gray adult who knew the consequences of gossiping…

Gossiping is fucking awesome, so they began their session by talking about everything that happened in both charms and transfiguration.

"I could swear I saw her glaring at you when you did the spell" Hannah said in a hush hush tone

"She did not" Connor tried to intervene even though he was liking the gossip.

"She totally did" Replied Susa enthusiastically

"You know what, and what if she did, she is really smart, I like her" Connor said ending the gossip about Hermione.

"OOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH" Both Susan and Hannah said at the same time as they were impling romantic feelings between the two.

"Shut up, or I won't be with either of you in snape class"

""Understood"" They said at the same time, clearly hoping he was as good at potions as he was at spell work
