How to raise your Night Fury

In a world filled with dragons, legends, each more epic than the other, are heard daily. However, none of these were proven true or false until the legend of Dovah Audgrim II was born. People would hear about a man, who travels the sky on the back of a dragon, protecting no one, but the worst fearsome enemy of men. While doing so, he made nothing but enemies among men except for a few isolated groups. While facing the world, he discovered the dragon's greatest secret and used it to push forward the world at speed never seen before. Come and listen to the epic story of a man who betrayed humanity to become its greatest benefactor. --------------------- This is an alternate universe of 'How to train your dragon.' I don't own the world of 'How to train your dragon.' I only own the character I created.

How to heal a Terrible Terror

'*Sigh* There is no time to waste. First, I need to get closer and see all the injury it may have.'

Dovah then went out of his hiding and tried to get closer. However, as soon as he was out of hiding, the Terrible Terror immediately noticed him and growled the loudest it could. Once again, Dovah could feel the hatred it had and the mistrust, just like during the attack five months ago.

'I' was not crazy. Yeah! This thing only works on dragons. Nice. I wish I could experiment, but now is not the time.'

"Whoa!Whoa!Whoa! I don't want to hurt you. I want to help you, so stop growling. It's a little stressful."

The Terrible Terror didn't react to anything he said, but Dovah felt the dragon's mistrust, and even more, it didn't understand what Dovah said. He dropped everything he was carrying, even his knife, and showed his hand.

"I'm here to help, so if you want to die, you can bite me anytime! Your choice."

The little dragon was surprised by the action of the child standing in front of it. It wasn't enough to make it lower its guard, but it was enough to allow him to do his thing. In the worst case, they would both die in this situation. That was the perception of the Terrible Terror, but Dovah knew if the two of them were to fight right now, he would win.

Once Dovah felt the mistrust in the dragon was lowered, Dovah took his time to inspect the dragon. It has a yellow iguana-like body, two black pairs of horns, one pair of wings, and an orange tail with a barbed tip. It has large yellow eyes, the right one as an open wound just over it was close to hitting the eye directly. There is a wide but not deep vertical wound on his belly that was maybe made by a claw.

First, Dovah dealt with the wound on the little dragon's belly. He stopped the bleeding with a cloth, which was relatively low, so for that dragon to be this weak, it must have lost a lot of blood. Once the bleeding stopped, Doah used water that he brought in a gourd made of leather to clean the wound.

This action hurt the winged lizard, but it was smart enough to notice that its bleeding had stopped, so he did nothing to stop Dovah. Even more, he lowered its guard, which made Dovah's work easier.

When the wound was cleaned, Dovah applied an ointment to help heal the injury and then used a bandage. Because it was wide, many bandages were necessary, covering all the body except the paw, the head, and the tail. So once done, it looked like the dragon had a white body, an orange tail, and a yellow head.

The most significant injury was taken care of by Dovah, but a gash just over the right eye remained. By now, the Terrible Terror had lowered its guard entirely and let Dovah do everything he needed. So Dovah quickly dealt with the gash using the same method as the one on the belly.

Although he didn't use as much bandage, the gash was too close to the eye, and Dovah needed to cover the eye with the bandage. After that, seeing that all the injury of the Terrible Terror was treated, Dovah breathed a sigh of relief.

"For now, you are okay, but I need to change your bandage and regularly check your injury to heal your wounds fully. You also need to be close in case of a complication like a fever or an infection."

The small dragon looked at Dovah interrogatively, and Dovah also felt that it understood nothing about what he said.

"My bad, to make sure you heal correctly, you're coming with me, or you will die. You don't have a choice."

Hearing this, the Terrible Terror's mistrust returned, and Dovah felt it. He also felt something else from the dragon, so he thought: 'One rock, two hits.' and took a dried fish from his back and gave it to the dragon.

"If you come with me, I will feed you every day...

Come in the white van; there is candy. Hahaha!"

Although the small dragon didn't understand the last part, being given food lowered its mistrust and even nodded its head. This action surprised Dovah; he underestimated the intelligence of dragons a lot.

"Oh! You are smart, I don't know if you're a special case, but with you, I hope I will learn everything that dumb manual doesn't say about Terrible Terror and information that will work for all dragons."

Dovah then started gathering everything he brought along with the knife he dropped. Since he couldn't bring a dragon into the village, even something as small as a Terrible Terror, he needed to hide it. He tried to hide it in his bag, but the dragon refused at first. It took him to give it his last dried fish before it was willing to enter the bag.

Unbeknown to both the Terrible Terror and Dovah, a black dragon observed Dovah after the first hour he entered the forest. If Dovah had seen it, he would have recognized the Night Fury from five months ago.

The Night Fury was curious about what the kid he saved wanted since he didn't look like he was lost. However, it was glad to see what the kid did to help the Terrible Terror. It also saw the boy's necklace but thought nothing of it.

*3 hours later*

Dovah wasn't imprudent during his expedition. He made sure to stay close to the edge of the forest to be able to go back home quickly. By now, it was long past midnight, and he had forgotten a single detail when he went for his expedition. He immediately remembered that detail when he opened the door to his hut.

"Young boy, you are a little late for dinner." His mother told him with a very 'kind' smile.

That's right. He forgot to tell his parent where he was. They would still be worried if they knew, but it would have been different. Anyway, the lecture wasn't a problem; the real problem was not letting his parents know a dragon was hiding in his bag.

The worse was that the dragon in question was sleeping, and sometimes it made small snorts. And to cover those sounds as something that is not a living being hidden in his bag, he said he was farting because of a fake stomach ache. Else his parent would put him in a lot more trouble than just a lecture.

Once the lecture was done, he was finally allowed to go to his room. He took the small dragon out of his bag, placed it on a makeshift bed made of cloth from his wardrobe, and hid it under his bed in case his parent were to come to his room, even though it rarely happened. Then he lay down on his bed, tired from a long day.

'It was a nice day. I beat up that asshole and saved a dragon. I confirmed how my ability to sense emotion works, although I still need to test it. For now, I will sleep. *Yawn* It was a very long but very fun day.'

(If you see mistakes, comment on them, and I will correct them, thanks.)

Just so you know, I have already given the Terrible Terror a name. It's going to stay with the hero for a long time.

Have some idea about my story? Comment it and let me know.
