Chapter 23

After Otto called for the Dragonkeepers and Maester Aemond, his testimony was supporting Aerion's claims after all that was the truth.

Measters Aemond also added the detail of the dragon showing some symptoms of being poisoned, He spoke of the dragonkeepers' accounts, which corroborated the prince's story of Dreamfyre's condition. The dragonkeepers, seasoned in their craft, attested to the unnatural nature of the Dreamfyre's wounds.

The trial continued, with witnesses coming forward one by one, each adding layers to the narrative that Aerion had begun. Maester James, his face pale and his hands bound, could only listen as his fate was debated before the king and the court.

Once all the witnesses had spoken. Grand Maester Mellos shook his head while, Maester Luwin glared at Aemond for second before masking his real emotions as he rose to present the Order's case.

His voice, seasoned with years of experience, carried a tone of solemnity as he addressed the charges against Aerion.

"Your Grace, esteemed members of the court," Luwin began, "the Order of Maesters does not take lightly the accusations against one of our own. However, the witnesses presented by Prince Aerion cannot be ignored." He said before he paused for a second before he continued.

"But I see no convincing Evidence, as for Maester Aemond words, in the first place it was his duty to make sure of the well being of the dragons"

"And we can't ignore the possibility that Maester Aemond pushed the blame to Maester James by deceiving the prince after all he still bit a child and We must also consider the possibility that Maester James has acted on the interests of the well-being of Dreamfyre but was misunderstood."

"Experimenting, feeding more than 20 types of poisons and making cuts on Dragon to collect blood and flesh samples, is it your way of acting for the interest of Dreamfyre." Aerion asked mockingly.

"Prince Aerion, baseless accusations can take us nowhere." Grandmeaster Maester Mellos stated as he continued " and you can't interfere when others state their piece."

Aerion ignored the old man's words as he turned to his father.

Finally Those Dragonkeepers that assisted Maester James in detaining Dreamfyre had also confessed, making Maester james already pale face even more paler and his hands bound shiver, he could only listen as his fate was debated before the king and the court.

Aerion ignored the old man's words as he turned to his father.

Aerion turned to look at the Grandmaester with the smirk" My accusations aren't baseless, as I have convincing Evidence here" Aerion stated as he took out the scrolls one by one.

"I have a written confession from Maester James after my men questioned him, not only that I have in my hands the various scrolls that Maester James recorded his study of dragon's and his experimental data that is also in his own handwriting." Aerion said as he passed it to Otto hightower.

Who transferred it to Viserys, the court was silent for a second, with the only sounds scrolls ruffling in Viserys hand and with each second that passed Viserys expression changed.

Aerion had a smirk, as he knew once the evidence was brought out his father would really kill This traitor Maester James, he had already gone through the scrolls the Maester named James had not only tried to find the orgin and physiology of the dragon in details but also it's weaknesses.

Maester James experiments were focused on creating a new substance that can weaken dragon's and he started by feeding various new poisons as well to see how much the Dragon can resist without major symptoms and what effects each poison would have in them and many other experimentation.

As Aerion presented each piece of evidence to his father, Grand Maester Mellos and Luwin listened intently, their expression unreadable. Viserys glanced at the Maester James like an angry Tiger as he gave all the evidence to the Grandmeaster and Maester Luwin to verify.

King Viserys, his gaze fixed on his son, nodded in acknowledgment of the evidence laid before him. The court watched in silence, the gravity of the accusations hanging heavy in the air.

The Grand Maester called for a recess, during which the evidence would be examined in detail. The court buzzed with whispered conversations as the implications of the trial became clear. If Aerion's claims were proven true, it would not only vindicate the prince but also expose a conspiracy within the walls of the Red Keep.
