Rhapsody of Blood and Bullets
For years, the Moniyan Empire and the Abyssal Demons had been at war with each other. Villages were pillaged, forests were burnt, and lives have been taken by the war between two seemingly unstoppable forces, each one bent on glory and conquest. Soldiers fought, and lived, and died in the ever-treacherous Land of Dawn.
For every battle fought, the casualties continued to pile up. Many were orphaned ever since the Empire started conquering kingdom after kingdom. For this reason, a monastery was built on the southern edges of the Moniyan Empire, a home for all the orphans and priests who served the Empire. More than this, it was a façade to breed demonslayers and spread the Empire’s interest to every reach of the continent. Yet, beneath the stone walls of the Monastery are some of the greatest secrets of a great empire.
Among the orphans, there was an adventurous smart lad named Garrett, whose family was massacred by demons on one of the many battles between the Empire and the Abyss. Bent on vengeance, he was brought to the Monastery of Light where he became unlikely friends with a girl named Circe, a talented runesmith but a terrible fighter, and Granger, a musically-inclined tone-deaf freak who wanted nothing to do with anyone. Under the lead of the great demonslayer, Alucard, they tread the murky waters of the Monastery, and unravel its mysteries.
After all, the greatest of all light always casts the greatest of shadows.
