CHAPTER 6 (PLEASE READ THE AUTHOR NOTE)

AUTHOR NOTE: Hello everyone, good day to you all. This is a special chapter, you all know partially my objective with this novel, is to create a real story set in Harry Potter's universe without the usual wishes, cheats, and things like that, the character is a little broken as of now? Maybe in terms of talent, but I assure you that there is a reason behind it, you see, I have planned quite a lot and I want to make sure that this story at least, can get to the end correctly...

However... I'm no professional, and I know you guys do not expect much of my story, but this is where I want to highlight a problem, my amateurish writing is more of a problem for me rather than for you, I have two problems when writing.

First of all, I'm Brazilian, which means I'm not a native English speaker and I can't be sure that any dialogue I write is any good you know... Second, my lack of theoretical knowledge in literature makes it so that everything I do is based on trial and error, so I need you to point out the problems with this story whenever you can. Does the dialogue sound bad? Do the characters look weak, maybe not believable enough? Is the story developing too fast, or maybe too slow? Does the world-building seem bad or not believable?

Please, tell me with there are any problems with those things or any other matter, always highlight the issues with my writing because this is the only way I can make this more enjoyable for all of you.

Thank you if have read all of this, and have a nice reading.

May the force be with you.

---------------------------------------

Harrison was walking through the corridors of the school with bags under his eyes, from yesterday till a few hours ago, he kept studying nonstop, those books were much more interesting than he could have ever expected, the history, the theory, and the spells, he wanted to know everything he could and this ended up making him lose track of time and spend most of the night awake, unfortunately, he even had to skip breakfast in order to sleep a little bit more.

It was difficult to adapt before he never had a specific time to wake up and do things, anytime was alright... This is what people mean when they say that everything has a good and bad side, he thought.

Soon he found what he was looking for, class 99 was on the south tower, it was quite a pain in the ass to get here due to the ever-changing stairs at Hogwarts, he got lost at least twice because of that, this annoyance even made him have thoughts of learning a spell to fly because he couldn't, or rather he didn't want to waste his time trying to find his way through this labyrinthic castle.

When he opened the door there were already a few people inside, mostly Gryffindor students, the tables were like some sort of stairs that extended upwards on each side of the class, and since the Gryffindors were all sitting at the tables on the left, he sat down on the ones opposite to them.

The class itself didn't have anything special to it, there was only one big window that gave view to most of the forest, a few bookcases, a blackboard, and some sort of wooden doll that could keep itself standing even though instead of legs it had a wheel to support itself.

Soon more students started to arrive, Hunter and his sister were one of them, they talked for a moment and went separate ways, she sat down with another Gryffindor girl, and they started talking about something while Hunter went and sat down next to Harrison.

"Hey buddy," He placed his book and wand on the table. "How was it, are the Slytherins as bad as the people of my house told?"

"How am I supposed to know? I wasn't there to hear what you said about them or us." Harrison answered in a tired and uninterested way.

"C'mon, don't be like that, did you make any friends already?"

"Why should I? You are all a bunch of weak kids, I can't bother myself with such things if there are no reasons to do so."

Hearing this Hunter looked at him in surprise. "You do sound like a Slytherin though..." He looked at the window for a moment before continuing. "Besides, what do you mean with 'reasons to do so'? I thought that we made friends because they are people we like to spend time together or something like this."

Seeing Hunter smiling like that made Harrison shook his head and sigh, "Nope, that is definitely not the reason anyone would make friends. Let me enlighten you... On the streets, you learn a lot of things you know, humans are inherently evil beings, it is all about the survival of the fittest, friendship, fraternity... this is purely a mean to an end, what one can't do alone, he does together with others he can trust, this is the reason a person would make friends."

"Is this a muggle vision of friendship? Because if it is, I'm really sorry for you, your life must have been difficult..." Hunter sighed. "No wonder most people hate them."

Harrison didn't answer, instead, his eyes trailed to the door that was opened, and by someone who was soon followed by many students that then sat down on their tables, he turned to Hunter and noticed he was still there despite seeing that the Slytherin students had already arrived.

"Aren't you going to sit with your people?"

"My people?" He laughed. "Ai... I'll have a hard time to fix this head of yours... You see, there is no rule that says I can't sit here."

"What about your friends?"

"Ain't I sitting with one of them right now?"

Hearing this Harrison shook his head, he couldn't keep bothering with this innocent guy, since he wanted to consider himself as his friend so be it, but for him, he still had to prove that he's worthy of being his friend.

And to make things worse, despite having entering while talking with someone with a face full of smiles, Madeline also wanted to bother Harrison, or so he thought considering that she sat down on his left. Seeing he was now surrounded by two of the most 'lost' people he had ever met, he felt like a black cloud had surrounded his head.

From a point of view, he felt bothered because they were weird, from another, he felt good because it wasn't like yesterday when there wasn't anyone he could talk to... 'Ah, Harrison, what are you doing...' such conflicting feelings... he wondered if he was bipolar or something similar...

"Good morning everyone!" A female voice fille with enthusiasm, reached their ears making every student turn to look at who had arrived, it was the professor, Elaine Flitwick, based on the book Harrison had read (History of magic), she is the granddaughter of Filius Flitwick, so she was the only descendant of the professors from the era of the wizard war that currently taught something at Hogwarts.

"In case some of you don't know me, I'm Elaine Flitwick, and I'm your charms Professor," she said with a smile on her face. After she sat down on her chair that magically increased in size suddenly, she pointed to the tables and said. "Open your books of spells on page 12, today we will be learning and practicing the levitation charm (Wingardium Leviosa)."

They started by going through the history of the spell, how it was created and by whom, then she went to the possible dangers of this spell and the theory behind it, she would always put a lot of emphasis on how you should properly move your hands and recite the spell, otherwise, unexpected results would come out of it, as she said... "Never forget Wizard Baruffio, who said 's' instead of 'f' and found himself on the floor with a buffalo on his chest."

With 10 minutes remaining to end the class, she waved her wand and many feathers suddenly flew out of somewhere and were place in front of every student. "Now, let us practice! Remember, swish and flick!"

The students looked at her and nodded before starting to try out, Hunter and Madeline managed to do it after two or three trials, whereas most of the students were having trouble even after 5 trials.

Harrison revised the spell and the movement in his mind, and after making sure everything was correct. He pointed to the feather, and as he moved the wand based on his memory, he recited, "Wingardium Leviosa!" When he finished something weird happened, all of the feathers suddenly got out of control and flew so fast upwards that they literally got stuck at the ceiling.

Everyone had their mouths hanging as they looked to the ceiling with shock, Caleb was the first one to speak after that little incident. "What the hell?" neither he nor the others could understand what happened, it was only when Harrison put his wand on the table that the spell ended and the feathers started floating down.

Seeing this everyone looked at him with shocked eyes, they weren't sure what to think.

"Cough... This... It seems Mr. Forgrave had a problem with his spell, but don't let this affect you all, keep practicing." Hearing the teacher's words they nodded slightly but the weird feeling remained, and everyone stopped trying to cast the spell whenever Harrison started casting, and to the surprise of zero people, every time he tried the spell would lose control and make every single feather on the room shot upwards like a rocket.

Seeing this, Harrison felt like punching the table, 'What the hell was happening!? Why every time I cast this shit, I lose control?' At some point, he started to think that there was a problem with his wand, after all, Professor Elaine had already said that his movements and words were perfect, theoretically, there was nothing wrong with the spell, all that he lacked was control...

A few minutes later Harrison was walking out of the classroom with a frown on his face, and clenched fists and teeth, people would even get out of his way in fear that he might decide to punch them out of existence.

Neither Hunter nor Madeline could talk him out of that state, in the end, they could only sigh and let him be, maybe his head would cool down given enough time.

Harrison, who was too enraged to notice, walked aimlessly through the castle until he found himself in a very exotic corridor. There were no windows, just a few torches lighting the way, and looking back he couldn't even see the end, the situation was the same ahead.

Gulping, he started to walk with caution and started to recite the fire spell he had read in the book, even if he wasn't sure how to cast, the instructions were clear enough, if anything happened he would hesitate to cast it.

For ten entire minutes, he walked down the corridor that seemed endless, his steps were the only sounds he could hear, with wide-open eyes and sweat pouring down his face he kept walking and tried to keep himself calm, but his heart wouldn't stop beating at light speed, he felt like someone was observing him and no matter where he looked he couldn't find anyone.
