Hogwarts-A New Legacy

A guy gets reincarnated in the Harry Potter world with some abilities during the first war with Voldemort. I’ve tried writing in the past, but never lasted more than a couple chapters. Keep your expectations low and your disappointment may be palatable. Hey, at least it’s not some crappy mtl or AI written story.

Chapter 9-The First Week

The first week flew by without much trouble. My free time was spent doing my regular routine. My classes each brought their own flare. Herbology was easy. I had studied the material and as was already established I'm basically the world's greatest fertilizer due to my senjutsu practice. Magic plants just don't give me the same problems that other students seem to deal with. They're a bit like trained dogs that I can give a treat to in the form of vitality. Pour a bit into them and they quickly become docile.

Charms was also fairly simple. I didn't try to show off as much as I did in transfiguration. It's alright to be good at one thing, but show off too much and people will start to hate you. I was bored, but I did followed the lecture as intended.

Later in the week we had potions with Slughorn. Potions was a class that I had studied a lot more than the others. It wasn't because I believe it was necessarily more difficult, but rather due to the fact that I'd never really had the opportunity to practice. I am on a budget after all. In order to compensate for that, I'd read the crap out of my own book and skimmed through a few others in our common room. Slughorn wasn't like snape in the books or movies. He patiently guided us through the lesson and everyone was able to turn in a decent potion. Once again life force manipulation and magic eyes came in clutch. As most of the ingredients were organic and had some form of essence them I could easily feel and see what I was supposed to do and when I was supposed to do it. My potion turned out mich better than everyone else's.

There was also flying class. It was like driver's ed but with flying brooms. Again, nothing really noteworthy. I don't believe that I'll ever play quidditch though. I have a not so small fear of heights and quidditch just doesn't interest me as a sport. Dueling sounds fun though.

The last class to mention is astronomy. It was interesting to say the least. It is an important class, it's just a bit different because wizards view everything with an earth centric perspective and not a solar one. It took place at 10PM at night which I'm not a fan of. Also, the stairs. Like, a ton of them. It makes you wonder how a student could ever get fat. Magic burns tons of calories and walking up and down stairs should deal with any that are left over.

Outside of my classes, Professor McGonagall tested my skill in transfiguration and basically gave me up to the fourth year books. She said I could practice the material in class and to see her if I had any questions. Fourth year was when students start transfiguring living things, so it's a big leap.

Aside from classes, I had managed to get all my first year spells to the level that I could perform them wandlessly. I even broke them down with arithmancy which I thought was oddly fun. After basically mastering what amounted to a year's worth of material before the weekend it was time to go off and learn more. I had yet to enter the library, so that was where I went.

My first goal was to increase my spell repertoire. Mainly some quality of life spells and possibly some defensive ones. I found a book containing a bunch of random charms, jinxes, and hexes that should keep me busy for a while. I took the time to write them all down and summarize how to perform them as we're not allowed to leave the library with the books. I took my notes and left to practice. It was Friday, I was done with classes for the day, so I had plenty of free time. I worked on the spells without a care in the world. Mastering the movements and chants of each spell before I would begin perfecting them. As I did, it started to become easier and easier. The only reason I could think of why that is the case is because magic is all based around certain basic concepts. Certain aspects of most spells will invariably tie into one another.

As I was practicing, a familiar voice called out to me.

"So this is where my favorite mudblood runs off to. It seems that you've been practicing quite a bit." I see Bellatrix with Narcissa in tow.

"Bellatrix please, we have to stop meeting like this. What would all of your potential suitors think if they knew how often you sought me out? I worry I might have to fight them off."

She laughed, "If they're honestly afraid of a first year sweeping me off my feet, then they aren't fit to be in a relationship with me. Besides, it would be an honor to fight for beautiful pure-blooded heiress like myself. Are you telling me you wouldn't?"

"I mean, I bruise like a banana, and I'm fairly certain that you could handle it yourself. I can clean up the bodies when you're done with them though."

Narcissa smiled and looked back and forth between us as Bellatrix laughed again, "That could work. I'll let you know when I require your expertise in that department."

"So, why are you really here."

"Curiosity mostly. People have been talking about a genius first year ravenclaw and I had to verify it for myself. So, can you really perfom wandless transfiguration?"

"Now Bella, you know that's more of a third date kind of…"

I was cut off as she immediately fired a curse at me. I dodged and hit her with a wandless aguamente immediately followed by a freezing charm from my wand courtesy of Satou Kazuma. She obviously wasn't expecting it because both hit her and she did not look happy about it.

"Well Bella, I'd say it's time to use the Joestar secret technique."

"Joestar secret technique?" She asked curiously, but still quite furious.

"Run away!"

I took off in a sprint while utilizing my chakra to accelerate as she fired off curses one after another. Yup, she was pissed, but slow. I evaded my untimely demise and decided that It would be a good time to head back to the common room. I had a house elf bring me food and I ate dinner in the common room. I studied and practiced more before going to bed. Hopefully Bellatrix would be more calm by morning.
