CHAPTER THREE: THE FRIEND

FlashBack.

"Hey, Orphan!! Do you like the taste of my shoes?" Kallum said while kicking the eight year old Allen. At that time he didn't understand what his cousin meant as orphan but even then Kallum had a sick sadistic side. He was already twelve at that time. Allen did not understand why he was subjected to such cruelty. He just wanted to play on the swing. He just wanted to be friends with them.

"Hey!!" A scrawny boy came to my aid with a stick in hand. "Why ya bullies!! Shay ayaw from 'em!"  He looked as if he was at the same age as Allem but he still couldn't speak properly.

He started swinging his arms but ended up "Omf!" tripping on nothing.

Clumsy.

Kallum and his friends laughed at the poor boy and started to beat him as well. "Mind. Your. Own. Business!!" said Kallum.

Allen was enraged by this sight. What did that boy do to deserve it? He was furious at his cousin and that day he realised that they would never get along. He gathered his remaining strength and stood up from the dirt. He Attacked Kallum from behind making him fall to his face.

The brawl started.

With three older kids as an opponent, Allen didn't show fear. He puched and kicked so that he could defend himself and the boy. He held his ground until...

"Hey!! Whats going on here!!" An middle aged shewolf saw what was happening and went to their side. Kallum and his nasty friends went running for their lives.

"Oh, you poor boys!!" She then took Allen and the boy to the Pack doctor for treatment. His father and mother was went totally balistic at Kallum after hearing what happened from the nice lady.

"Why'd you do that?" Allen asked the boy.

"Dyo wha?" He asked.

"You should have just avoided that situation instead you helped me."  The boy chuckled. "Your welcome."  He seemed to be happy that he got beaten up. Allen raised his eyebrows and said "Youre weird." Out of no where, someones finger flicked his forehead. "Thats bravery, Allen not weird." my father said. "It takes courage to stand up for yourself and it take an even greater courage to stand up for others. Good boy. I hope a lot of our young pups have the same kind of courage as you. Thanks for helping my son."

"It wash nothin'" The boy chuckled. My father smiled and glanced at me then exited the room.

Trouble. Allen sighed and eyed the boy who was helped him. Allen really didn't know what his father meant but he like this kid so that means he's okay. He seemed nice but weird. Alright. He made a decision that day.

"I'm Allen by the way."

"Kean."

Allens POV

In deep slumber I was awoken by....

"Wakey wakey!!!" A splash of cold water landed on my face. I rose instantly from my bed and shivered.

"KEAN!!" he ran through the door and I followed him with a vendetta in mind.

Kean Klien, my bestfriend. We've been bestfriends since that fateful day. He says fateful, I say cursed. The bastards crazy with his silly adventures. He got me in trouble most of the times. His crazy brain comes up with the most stupid ideas yet!! but even though we get into trouble he never leaves me behind. We'd get into trouble together he always say. he'd always been there for me like a brother who always had my back. If I do take over the pack, Kean would most likely be my second in command, my beta.

I smelled bacon and eggs being fried. Delicious! I went to the kitchen, knowing Kean he'd go straight for the food.

And I was right! He was stuffing his face with moms food.

"Look at wolfpig eat its prey!" I exclaimed in a very exaggerated manner. Kean snapped his head and saw me enter the kitchen. "Now, I'm gonna kill that stupid wolfpig with my bare paws!!"

Before he could move from his seat I went and locked my arms around his neck which made him choke at his food. "Allen!! Let him go!! I asked him to wake you up."

"He poured water on me!!" I said.

"Good... At least you were able to take a bath!!" my mom said. I rolled my eyes at her and let Kean go. "Vashtard!! I washn't rehhdy!!"  I glared at him. Mom slapped my shoulder "Ouch!!"

"Stop it." She said in her luna tone. I sighed. "I wonder who's your son, me or him?" I pointed at kean like a kid.I faked cried then I earned a chuckle from my mom. "Shut up and eat."

After breakfast, Kean and I went to the training grounds. Every wolf at the age of fourteen had to be trained for the safety and future of the pack. Though in our pack, it is by law that minors are not allowed to join anything serious until they are 18 and even when you are 18 already,  you are still given a choice if you want to join any real battle or not.

"So how was your first shift?" Kean asked while throwing punches at me. We were sparing, practicing our skills in hand to hand combat.

"You liar! It was painful!" I grunt. I twisted my hip and kicked his torso. He dodged it and lounged forward. He locked my movements by pressing his shoulder on my chest but I then Kneed his leg and used my elbow on his face.

"Ah.. Dont be such a baby! Not like you'd die from it." Kean chuckled and continued to spar with me. I clicked my tongue at him and punched straight at his face. "Omf!" I smirked. "Again with the face!!" He took another stance and waited for my next move. I went for a straight right hook. He dodged it and saw that it was a fake and was able to block my left jab with his arms. We kept blocking each others punches. He then went and kicked my stomach luckily, it wasn't that strong. I felt an itch in the back of my mind.

I stumbled a little and jumped to do a cartwheel on his shoulder. I took the chance of him being surprised and then kicked his back but suddenly he went out of my sight because he.... Split?? Damn this guy!!! I let out a low growl. He chuckled and did a fancy way to get up. A back flip. I felt another itch. Hmm.

The girls inside the training ground screamed our names. He waved at them and they cheered some more. He still had a grin plastered on his face so while he was distracted I took the opening and Kicked his ribs. "Amf!" He growled and threw punches at me but non of them landed a hit. Then when his movements started to slow down, I went straight at his face again. Hehe. He then stumbled and fell on his ass.

"Fine. You win!!" He raised his hand in defeat and I took his hand and pulled him up to stand.

"Damn it, Allen!! My pretty face!!" He exclaimed.

"You deserve it." I said. He laughed and put his hands on his waist."Can't help it if you feel too jealous 'bout all of this."He then gestured his hand up and dowm his body. I chuckled and swat his head. "Not likely."

"Boys!!" We heard Beta Kris call us from behind. Beta kris is my fathers younger brother. He is very kind but strict, when it comes to training, and a great beta that is loyal to his Alpha.

We both turned around and faced him with our hands at our sides and our stand firm like soldiers. "At ease boys, great job out there. Keep it up!" he said and motioned us to be on our way. We both had huge grin on our faces. Being complimented by our beta was very rewarding.

Then I saw Kallum sitting just right the opposite direction of where I was standing with a blond hair around his arms and deathly glares directed towards me. I smirked.

Once the early training was over Kean and I decided to go straight to the treehouse near the waterfalls but before we could even get started...

'Allen' I heard my fathers voice. I turned around and see that no one but Kean was beside me. Kean seemed oblivious to it as he was playing Clash of Clans on his phone. I frowned.

'Allen'  I heard my fathers voice once again. 'Am I crazy? I'm hearing voices inside my head.'

I heard him chuckle, 'No, lad. This 'ere is called mindlinkin'. '

Oh. That makes sense. 'Whats up, dad?'

'come to my office in five. Bring kean with you and remember.'

'I know. Dont shift in public.' I dont know why they told me that. The real reason that is. Dad only told me that my wolf was too strong for me to handle and I need to get stronger. In the end, I just had to shrug it off. The itch that I felt now turned into a scratch. What the?

"Kean, lets go."
