CHAPTER FOUR: THE GREETINGS

Allen POV

"Allen!!"I turn around to see the familiar voice that called out to me.

"Kean!!"

"Whats up?" Kean gave me one of those manly hug. I hugged him back.  "Did you miss my naturally handsome face and esteemed charms?"

"Do shut up and help me with these! The visiting packs will be here shortly." A party is held for the peace treaty that was created eleven years ago. Lightmoon pack, our pack, was the host this year. A war broke due to the greed of some men which caused the life many innocents but father said that there was more to it than just a power struggle. It took years of fighting but of course it was left oblivious to humans, a great use of enchantments I must say. Anyway, after all the loss and casualties, the previous alpha of the pack proposed a treaty which the other packs gladly obliged. So, we're here at the present celebrating peace.

"So, my dear friend what do we have in store for today?" Kean asked willing to help me. "Well for starters, help me look through the guest list. The Alpha and Luna had been too busy lately so, as you know we were gaven to do this job instead." my father called us to his office and assigned us to help for the party, me as his heir and kean as my future beta.

"Holy-! How many visitors are there!?" He took the huge guest book from me and started scanning the pages. "Damn. This is gonna be a lot of work to try and accommodate all of 'em! Will the pack house even fit all of these people?"  I waved my hand at him. "No worries, my father said half of them would be going home after the party. Only those who lives too far are going to stay the night or two." I said.

Soon after, the guest arrived one by one. My father and mother welcomed the guests with Kean and I besides them.

"Have you gone through the guest lists and see how to accommodate our guests?" my mother whispered at me. "Yes, Luna." I call both my parents by their title for important events such as these. "Good boys. Now we'll leave the welcoming of guests to you and Kean." He patted my father and pulled him with her to go inside the great hall. Our pack house is quite huge, if it were me I'd call it a mansion, the party is held in the great hall in the west wing.

"Its always a puzzle to me why the pack house is that huge." Kean stated.

"Dad said its because the pack house used to be where all the pack members lived but others wanted to have a house of their own to live with their mates and pups and since the population of our packs gradually increased, the previous Alpha allowed the members to build their own houses thus, we now have a small community. Only guests and unmated wolves who wish to live there, stays there."

"Hmm... Really? I never knew that." I chuckled "Because you never listen to the packs history." then I went over to the guests who just arrived in a black van. I knew that van. It was from Hazelmoon pack.

"Welcome to Lightmoon pack, Alpha Jason, Luna Anna, Beta Chris and mate Beta Luisa." I greeted them and everyone smiled at me warmly. They are from the neighboring packs and are friends with my parents.

"Allen, dear boy!! My, look how much you've grown!" Alpha Jason said as I shook hands with him and I returned it with a smile. "This is my bestfriend and future Beta, Kean." the alpha looked at kean and shook hands with him as well. "Fine lad you got here." Luna Anna said with a wink. I chuckled and Kean seemed to cough from embarrassment. "Oh Jasmine... Come over here and meet Allen and his friend." said Luna Anna.

"Shes our only daughter."

"Ah... I have only met her brother, your eldest, Jake but I haven't met her." I said. "Yes, shes kind of really shy." said the luna. "I see, She must be as beautiful as you, luna." Luna Anna chuckled. "Such a way with words, just like your father."  I smiled at her comment. Being told that I was much like my parents always had made my heart swell. Soon enough, Jasmine got out of the van and made her way to us. "There she is!" Alpha Jason said.

"Hi. Nice to finally--!" Kean suddenly held onto my arm with a strong grip. He took a deep breath and looked tensed. He then let out a small growl and --wait... The growl came from Jasmine? Whats going on?

"Oh my!" said Luna anna.

The two of them seemed like they were in some sort of trance while looking at each others eyes. They moved closer to each other until they were inches apart. I could hear their hearts rapid movements and the heavy breathing they both are doing. I dont recall Kean to do drugs? His eyes were dilated and he seemed incredibly high. They both closed their eyes and and inhaled deeper.

"Mine." they both said together. The move even closer and were seems about to kiss each other?? What the!??

"Oh no, you dont!" Alpha Jason pulled Jasmine away from Kean.

"Father!!" Jasmine exclaimed. "He's my mate."

"Yes but its too early for you to do anything physical--!!"

"EWWW! Dad, stop!!"

I pulled Kean as well away from jasmine. "Dude!" He snapped back to reality but when I looked at him, He looks stunned, fear.

He stood up and straighten himself. "No... I don't want a mate." Kean said. He wasn't joking. He wasn't smiling. For the first time, I see him void of emotions.

"Excuse me?" Alpha Jason growled at Kean. He was mad. His princess was going to be rejected by her mate.

"I dont want a mate." Kean repeated. Your making it worse!!

"Prepare to die, boy."

Kean closed his eyes amd stood firmly on the ground.

"Gladly."

Alpha Jason lunged at him. Kean did not show any intention to fight. He did not show any emotion at all as he stood there. Ahh... That blasted friend I have!!!

I Jumped in the middled of them stopping Alpha Jasons attack. "Argh!!" All three of us stumbled to the ground. Lucky for me, thanks to the Alphas fast reflexes he was able to avoid shredding me to pieces.

"Whats the meaning of this?" My father and mother came etched with worried faces.

"YOU DARE TO HARM MY PUP IN MY TERRITORY!!" mom is on beast mode! Shit!

I rushed over her side,"Mom! Mom! Look at me!! Come one. I'm fine. " She took a deep breath and inspected if I was alright. She sighed a relief and glared at Alpha Jason. Alpha Jason didn't have any signs of remorse.

"He was going to reject my daughter." Alpha Jason said.

"YOU DID WHAT??" see kean. Now feel the wrath of your luna!HA. HA. HAA!

"ALLEN LIONEL BLACK!!"

Wait. What?

"LISTEN MY ASS!! WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU WANT TO REJECT YOUR MATE!! I RAISED YOU BETTER THAN THAT!!" okay definitely a misunderstanding.

"Dad! Help!"

Dad put his hands over my mothers shoulders and she started to calm down. "Listen to the lad."

"Not him." Alpha Jason said. " His Beta."

"Oh." My mom said.

"Why, boy? You think youre too good for my daughter? You think she it enough for ya?" poisoned words were coming out of Alpha Jasons mouth. A simple miscalculation and youre dead

"Yout daugter is perfect. I know she she is." everyone looked at kean like he just sprouted two heads. This is utterly confusing. Just now do I realise he was in so much pain. His eyes were holding so much emotion right now. "But I stand by my words.. I... I... I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Kean shifted and retreated away into the woods.
