DonnutHermit
I don't know what the author was thinking... chapters from 1 to 70 is about a 1010 year old reincarnated mc and chapters starting 71 is about mc past (basically a normal story). I stopped at chapter 141 (the story is still in the past).... Author, just reorder chaps, I'm not sure how I even managed to read up to the first 70 chaps. Everything just feels like a major spoil and now I'm not invested in the story
Sadly the author has seemingly abandoned the story and many of us who have been here since chapter 1 are stuck with wondering why. “Life happens” is open to too many interpretations. Did you lose family, catch Covid, had legal issues, had a kid, other medical issues? A proper explanation after a week of being gone when you stated a day or two max would have been nice. Going on three weeks without hearing anything? You’re asking for people dropping this. Unfortunately, I am one of those. Toodles, it was fun while it lasted.
DonnutHermit is the most gifted and thorough fanfic author I have every come across. Established plot points or characters in the medium used are never assumed to have been already known, creating a feeling of authenticity. Readers should be aware that this is packaged as a full novella and is not privy to the much faster paced format of its peers, but this is not a detraction. Time is something most of us have plenty of and reading their work is using it well, in my opinion. Bravo!
Incredible novel with an unusual start that could throw off some readers as it uses a writing direction not often seen as the true 'start' of the novel is not until chapter 73 which is when MC was reincarnated into that world. (Chapters 1-72 is the canon HP arc which is 1000 years after the MC entered that universe so naturally the HP history has changed somewhat due to the butterfly flapping it's wings, once you reach c73 you will discover how the mc became the man shown so far with the true beginning.) I highly advise people to give this novel a go and stick with it until post c73 as that's where the novel truly takes off and it's possibly my favourite DxD fic on here, drawing somewhat with "Highschool DxD: A New Satan" however genre is a lot different as this one focuses more on exploration, character and world building whereas the Satan one is more on political maneuvers and invention while the mc basically spends the whole novel sitting in his castle and creating his own pantheon internally. (This is very much a "show, don't tell" type novel whereas many novels take a "tell, don't show" approach.)
Really good novel so far. I've read upto chapter 72. Even though pace of the story is slightly slower than what I would've liked but the quality more than makes up for that. I especially like the fact that author especially describes everything so that it doesn't feel a*s pull like other novels, everything makes sense without being exaggerated. Update stability is slightly inconsistent but chapters are longer so no complaints there. Overall, a really good experience, if you can put up the slow pace of the story then do give it a try.
The writing quality is excellent with only a few errors here and there, honestly much better than many other stories on here. The plot so far, by chapter 20, is very interesting and fun as well, with well written characters. The powers used are great so far, and the dialogue feels very natural overall. I highly suggest est you give the story a try.
Literally starting with an already established character that has already been reincarnated for 1000 years. His wives on the other hand gives clues to his background and his abilities, which is quite interesting. Reading a fanfic with an already established character is far more interesting and enjoyable to read than one that starts at the very beginning.
