"Hey, want to make a little test?", Leo said to Danielle.

"What are you suggesting?", she got interested.

"Lets see who can kill more monsters on the area.", he smiled.

"What are we putting on line?", she smiled back at him.

"A free wish to the other?", he proposed.

"That's fair. Any more rules?"

"I need to know the type of monsters that have around here.", he said.

"Ok.", and so she explained.

There were basically three types of monsters on that region. First was the Vampiric Bats. Monsters about the same size of humans and that would feed on blood. Second was the Dryads. These monsters were like elves but their skin would be of tree bark and on top they were innofensive. So no attacking. Third were the most troublesome. The demons themselves and inside them there could be a lot of types. So no easy path.

"I get it.", he said.

"So promise me that you will call me if you find a demon.", Danielle asked.

"Why?", he was upset.

"Promise me.", she was dead serious on the matter.

"I promise.", he said it but didn't mean it. So trouble was awaiten.

"Okay. Lets begin then.", she left flying.

"I need learn more magic in some way.", Leo said looking at her going.

Leonard didn't start looking for monsters instead he started to try new things with his Crystal Magic. First was making a weapon but ended to fragile. So he went to defensive and build a shield but ended or too fragile or too heavy. Last was physical enhancement and this left just a few choices. Armor had the same effect of the shield and this made him work on claw gauntlets.

"Wow. This can work.", he said and made a slashing attack against a tree. The sharpness made a cut on the wood. "Lets see full impact.", on a punch the crystal protecting his hand broke. "Okay. So how about piercing instead?", he remade the claw and instead of closing the grip he united the fingertips on a spearhear like. The attack made his whole hand enter the tree. "Okay. Lets modify a little.", he made a gauntlet on the form of a spearhead instead of making one with his fingertips.

So he began to hunt. He made claws on his feet as well so he could climb the trees more effectively. The Vampiric Bats didn't expect an attack on their nest and so the boy started to slaughter them. He used close and range combat. Crystal Magic with his Control Magic were a perfect combination.

"It's them?", he looked at a being entering a tree. "The Dryads.", he jumped from the top and used magic to stop the fall. "Ripristinare.", and slowly approached the tree he saw someone enter. "Are anyone in there? I'm not going to hurt.", no reply came so he gave up after some minutes but then he noticed why was that. A demon was looking straight to him.

The humanoid had horns on the side of his head and a snake for its tail. On its hand a spear with the metal on fire. Its skin was a crimson red and its eyes golden bright. He smiled at the look of Leonard on his front. The boy felt fear and excitement. He had to chose between fight and keep it the promise. So he went for both and a Fire Lance went upwards on the sky while he and Injection were against the demon.

"This tassel isn't a proper weapon to fight me boy.", the demon said and with its spear jumped to attack as well.

Both weapons collide and their owners were close. Leonard forced his weapon to take a retreat while the demon was letting him win the strength confront. So the snake tail went for the boy's neck. Leo had a fast reaction and equipped Redtie on spot. So the bite took his scarf instead of his life and he retreated.

"Useless effort.", the demon burned the protection.

"Lets see. Frammenti. Ripristinare.", the boy made shards shotgun.

The demon spinned his spear and only scratches were made on his skin but that made him furious. Leo was furious himself about his scarf being burnt. So he clapped and fire started to surround him.

"Frammenti. Ripristinare.", another round was made by him and again and again but the demon could easily stop them.

"It's futile boy. Why are you wasting so much magic on this useless effort?"

"Takes time to heat the crystals so I needed you occupied.", as the boy said the demon spear was full of melted crystal but they were already cooling down. "But I won't let this chance go. Ripristinare.", Injection went first with the attack but he followed up.

The demon was able to deflect the weapon but the boy was already on his close quarters. Leonard didn't let this chance go. His fists were claws and he went straight for the demons hands. The monster tried to retreat from the attack but one of its hands were heavily injured letting the spear fall. The snake came again against the boy and this time there weren't any scarf on its way. So that's why there was crystal blocking its bite. The boy sharpened the side of his left hand and cut the tail in one go.

"No sneaky attacks anymore."

"Get away, Leo.", Danielle said and he did but regreting not finishing this battle before. "Esplosione di Cristalli.", the demon skin began to become crystal and after his whole body was transformed it exploded. "Are you alright?", she flew into his direction. "I found another one on the way and it took a little to finally get here."

"I'm okay.", he said sadly after looking at their power difference.

"He didn't hurt you, did he?", Danielle was looking on his whole body and then looked at the crystal body modifications. "Why? How?"

"To fight. Magic.", he said the obviously but this wasn't what she wanted. Even so she gave up understanding.

"You can take that then.", she pointed at the demon spear on the ground. "It's probably better than your tassel spear."

"Okay.", he went fast and took from the ground.
