Chapter 5, the girl

Sky ran inside the shop to find the girl, she looked everywhere till an old lady walked up. She was the merchant, "Need something dear- Oh...its one of you bounds people. What do you want?" Sky rolled her eyes, "I was looking for the bathroom." The merchant pointed behind her, "Up the stairs and make a right...if your small mind can manage that." Sky walked passed her and stomped up the stairs, she went into the bathroom and knocked right into the girl and both of them fell backwards. "Ow!- My head!" The girl screamed, "Watch where your going!-" She looked up at Sky and made a disgusted face. "Oh its you, the awful bounds girl who kept staring at me last night. Your a creep." Sky rubbed her head and got up, "And you assume to much, the bounds isnt that bad." The girl got up and washed her hands, Sky held out her hand once she was done. "What? You expect me to make a friendly gesture with you creep?" Sky chuckled, "Its Sky not creep, whats your name kitten?" The girl made a disgusted face, "Did you just call me...kitten? Thats revolting, stop that. My name is Destiny, not kitten." She blushed a little, Sky smiled. "Are you embarrassed by one of the 'awful' bounds folk? Your funny." Destiny crossed her arms and stepped back. "Well your not, and I'm not embarrassed. And how good are you bounds people anyway? All you do is steal, bribe, and-..." Sky smiled some more and stepped closer to her. "And...what kitten?" Destiny's face turned red including the tips of her ears. "...M-Manipulative!" Sky was in Destiny's face now, very close. She placed her hand on the wall currently pinning Destiny. "Go ahead, keep talking. I love to hear your voice." Destiny shoved passed Sky, she opened the door. "I dont have time for people like you, you deviants always go for young people like me. Well, I'm not as vulnerable as you think." Sky leaned on the wall, "So, I'm basically a good for nothing hex?" Destiny looked confused, "Why would I-...hex isnt the word. I'd never use such a word, its forbidden in my side of the city." Sky looked away and shook her head. "Your daddy sure likes to use it." Destiny moved her hair from her face and closed the door again. "He's my uncle not my dad...what about your parents? They mustn't like you using such a word." "Dont have any kitten...you dont have any either?" Sky looked at her again. Destiny sighed, "My mother died when I was young and my father...he's gone." Sky walked up to her and opened the door. "Well I'm sorry for your loss, but I have to go now. Bye kitten." Sky winked at her then walked out leaving Destiny flushed.

She ran down the stairs and out the merchants shop to be yanked by Copper. "What were you doing in there?" Sky shrugged, "Using the bathroom? I can go into detail if you want me too." Copper picked up the paint bucket, "It doesnt take about 40 minutes to do that!" She rolled her eyes, "It was only 10-" Copper shoved his watch in front of her eyes. "11:47 is when you went into the merchants shop, its 12:27 now!" "Relax Copper, I'm good. I was just talking to a freind." Sky smiled, Copper let her go. "Who is this freind?" "Destiny is her name, she keeps her hair in a braid and she wears this fancy dress. She's from Idophos of course but...shes not like the rest." She stared off into the distance, Copper played a small smile on his face. "Oh really? What is she like?" "She's soft and sweet but can be fierce like a kitten, her eyes glow in the light of the bathroom and her lips look so soft...Uh- Don't tell Jack about this." Copper laughed, "Why would I? I like this freind of yours."

When they got back to the house Al was still in the basement and Gidget had already helped with Jack's eye. Copper walked in and set down the paint, "Got a bucket of color and nothing bad happened...well at least not to us. What happened to you Jack your eyes red." Jack chuckled, "Spring on the clock popped in my eye, Gidget helped me with my eye and the clock. So, was Sky any trouble?" Copper shook his head and smiled. "Not at all actually, after we went to Jhisken's 'freindly' merchant tent to get what we need Sky needed to go run to do her buisness so I let her. She arrived back safe and unharmed with no one angry or trying to kill us...wheres Al?" Gidget looked at Jack and she held their hand tightly. "Alenn needs his behavior to be straightened, he's been causing trouble and upset Gidget. We were hoping you can get his act straight Copper." Gidget paused before speaking. "...I beleive Al wants better attention and wants to be treated like everyone else but the problem is he doesn't listen and doesnt care to ask personal questions." Copper nodded, "I'll have a chat with the boy, Sky stay up here with Jack and G. I'll be back..." Sky gulped and watched Copper walk out the door. Sky sat down at the table and crossed her legs. Gidget set back up the clock, "There, all better. The clocks working again and now time to find something else to do." Jack pat their shoulder, "You should relax Gidget, sit down for a little while. You've been working so hard all day, maybe its time for a break dont you think?" Gidget sighed, "I am a little tired I suppose. I'll give myself 2 hours of rest then I'll be back." Sky was already asleep in the chair snoring.

Copper stomped down the stairs and Al was asleep, he sat down on the table infront of Al. "Hey!" He yelled, Al jumped up and looked around quickly and saw Copper. Copper had a menacing look in his eyes and Al knew exactly what was going on. "I-" Copper quickly drew his finger across his mouth. "I dont want to hear it, boy you better start opening your damn ears or I'll do it for you." Al nodded, "Yes sir-" Copper looked at him dead in the face. "If I catch you disrespecting Gidget or anyone else in this house it won't end well. You ever wonder why Sky shoved dirt in your mouth? I'd probably do the same if I was her age. Understand me boy?" Al's lips trembled as tears started to fill his eyes. Copper shook his head, "Alenn, toughen up. Your the one who caused this and you had no problem making Gidget cry so don't you dare start crying." Al sniffed and wiped his eyes, "Why- Why cant you guys treat me the same as everyone else?! I want to be treated like everyone else!" Copper rubbed his head then picked up the skiffball, "See this? This is your mind, you have a path that you must go to win and succeed the game but instead you choose to go the wrong direction and break things. This skiffball is hard on the outside but its hollow on the inside, you let your cocky and brash behavior get the best of you boy. You go the other direction while everyone else is going the right way but you cant catch up now because you were to busy going the wrong way. Understand? Thats why we treat you 'differently', we try and teach you lessons but you don't listen. You choose to not listen and you still have alot of catching up to do, we all have went the wrong direction but we've caught up. I think its time you start thinking real hard about what you need to do instead of your desires boy."

And with that Copper left with Al left alone in the silence.
