Chapter 4, out with Copper

Jackal sighed and took the clock from Gidget, Gidget got up and went to find Al. Copper swung his arm over Sky's shoulder and she stumbled a bit getting light headed. "Woah! You okay there Sky?" She started remembering last night, "Wait...I can't see." Jack dropped the clock and ran to her, she checked her head. "Your not running a fever, what are you feeling?" Sky took a deep breath and smiled, she couldn't help but blush a little but then snapped back into reality. "Oh, I'm good I just got dizzy thats all." Copper looked at her and pat her on the back gently. "I'll be out in a minute, go wait on the porch." Sky walked out and Copper smiled. "She remembers something and I have a feeling its someone." Jack rubbed her temples and huffed. "No no no, she is not making freinds with someone from Idophos. She isnt falling for someone either, she cant get distracted. If she does, she'll leave again and again until she doesnt come back at all! She doesnt need to-...I don't want her to go..." Copper sighed, "Jackal, she wont leave. I promise she'll learn what Idophos is really like...and I'm going to show her." Jack nodded, "Stay safe." Copper hugged her, "Always have."

Copper walked outside and Sky was gone. "...Sky!" Copper looked around but then screamed with a deep voice when Sky hung upside down from the roof. "You were gone for too long and I got bored." Copper sighed in relief, "It was only 10 minutes, get down from there." She hopped down, "Yeah exactly it was a really long time." "Listen, when we go into Idophos you do not touch anything and don't try and escape because I will catch you. I wont be happy when I do." Copper grabbed Sky's hood and pulled it over her head. She pulled it back down then he pulled it back up. He then laid his hand on her shoulder, "Hood stays on." Sky rolled her eyes, she sniffed and looked around some more. She saw people count their coins, they didnt even need to gamble or fight for it. About everyone had at least 50 gold in their bags.

Meanwhile, after Sky and Copper left, Jack was working on the clock but was getting frustrated about it when a spring kept popping out. Gidget was in the basement with Al talking things over. "Why cant they just treat me like everyone else? I know I don't listen sometimes but I have potential. Sky on the other hand, all she wants to do is go into the city, why though? Why is everyone like this?" Gidget hesitated to respond, they didnt know what to say. "...well, not everyone is like that. I'm not, I care and I want to help with what you are feeling-" Al interrupted, "No one cares about me, literally no one. Like, you do help sometimes but not alot so do you really care?" Gidget looked at him, they took a deep breath. "I do care and even if sometimes I cant help-" He interrupted again, "Yeah, you can't help. No offense but I need someone who can help...you think its because your not...human?" Gidget stood up and pat his head. "Your right about one thing, you dont listen! I'm going to go check on Jackal now." Gidget slightly stomped up the stairs and slammed the door. "What did I even do? What did I say? Gidget!" Al groaned in annoyance, he'd never seen Gidget that upset well only once. Jack put down the clock after the spring hit her in the eye, she didn't see Gidget walk right by. Jack got up and opened the basement door, "Gidget? Who slammed the door? I need help...G?" "She's not here, she went back up and slammed the door." Al said as he picked his nose with his pinky. "Al...what did you do?" Al threw his hands in the air, "Oh so now I did something?! She's the one-" Jack punched the wall making a loud thump, "Alenn!...Gidget is the last person you hurt in the house! And its they not she, dont let me catch you saying that again!...All they do is help, don't bring them down unless you want to sleep in the shed like Sky." Al clenched his teeth, "Dont call me Alenn!...It's not my fault you want to marry her or something!" Jack's eyes widened, she was very angry, "Copper is going to have a word with you and your behavior! Your sleeping in the shed and eating your supper out there!" "So, its true you like her?! That gross!" "THEY!" Jack stomped back in and slammed the door shut. "Gidget...where are you?" Jack searched the house, she then went into their room to see Gidget crying on the floor. "All...all I try to do is help but-...Im not any help!" Jack sat on the floor beside them, "Hey, you are such a big help. You're the one who keeps us going, without you this family would fall apart." Gidget sniffed and wiped their eye, "...but Al said-" Jack used her hand to cup their cheek and wipe the tears from it, "Dont listen to Al, he doesnt listen to us so don't listen too him. Gidget, when you first came here you were scared. We were about the same age and I found you alone and decided to bring you in, your the third one that came into me and Copper's lives. You helped patch me up when I was stabbed that one time fighting Bone and his gang. You helped Copper heal his wounds and fix the clock the first time it broke. You help us all and without you I...we would all be dead. Copper is like a brother to me, Al and Sky are like children...you are like the sun to me when it shines through the bounds. When I see it shine through the depression and fog it makes me so happy. Seeing you smile, brings my day. Your important and you help alot sometimes you help a little too much but thats okay. Because you are Gidget and if thats who you want to be then go ahead, were all beside you. Al is a child, he will learn." Gidget smiled and hugged her. "Thank you, Jackal." "No problem G."

Its been at least an hour since Sky and Copper started walking. "How much longer?" Copper chuckled, "Be patient, its just around this corner." "But thats what you said last corner." Sky hunched over her shoulders and slumped while she walked. "Its been like an hour." "It has been an hour." He said checking his watch. She groaned some more, then they turned around the corner and got up straight when she saw the market. It was big and beuatiful, it reminded her of the night but without the bright lights. "...this is so cool." She muttered, Copper held onto her arm tightly. "Now, lets go get what we need and get back to the bounds." Sky nodded still looking around, they began to walk into the first tent, it had all these weird tools in it. A merchant came out, he was small and looked like around 14 or 15. "Welcome folks what can I get ya'...Oh! Copper back again? Lemme guess, do you need an int to sharpen that child of yours? She's beuatiful might I say." Copper pulled Sky behind him, "Enough chit chat Jhisken, we need another bucket of color." "...paint." Jhisken said getting it ready. "You bounds people need to work on your words." Copper slammed the coins on his desk, "And you need to work on your attitude." Jhisken jumped and scrambled up the coins in his pocket and gave Copper the paint. "T-There, one bucket of color." He squeaked, Copper pulled Sky out of the tent with the paint. Sky saw the girl from last night walking into a merchants store alone, "Copper...can I-" He shook his head, "No..." "But...I need to go to the bathroom and I think that merchants shop might have one." Sky said falsely, Copper sighed. "Cant you hold it?" Sky shook her head, Copper looked at the time. "Make it quick, and dont cause trouble."
