Epilogue

Not much has changed since Ren finally let out his feelings towards Rey. After quitting the First Order, he had decided to put Heartbreak Hotline on hold before ultimately deciding to hand it over to Hux.

Instead Ren settled back down in Massachusetts with Rey, the two enjoying each others company for days to come.

The pair occasionally visited Ren's mother and Rey's friends Poe and Finn, who were in turn very happy with each other. Poe and Rey had soon made amends, still remaining best friends.

As for Hux he finally connected with his lost love, Phasma. The one catch-up date had soon turned to many, and the two co-owned Ren's old radio show.

Except this time they completely over run First Order industries, instead creating a new friendlier environment. Hux had finally found love, so it was in mind that he should help others find theirs too.

Ren had continued to stay in touch though, often calling the radio show himself just to hear his old friend's voice.

"Can I look now?"

"No that'd ruin the surprise."

Rey pouted from behind his hands before he continued to lead her forward.

"Now can I look?"

"No Rey, I'll uncover your eyes when we get there."

She made a sigh of annoyance before reluctantly stopping her questions.

"You could look."

Ren removed his hands from her face slowly as if it were a simple game of peek-a-boo.

A gasp of surprise came from Rey as soon as Ren bent down. She put her hands to her mouth and tears began to spring from her eyes.

"So I'm guessing that's a yes?"

Rey nodded through her tears, still unable to speak. Walking forward she wrapped Ren in a tight embrace.

Pulling away from the hug, he kissed her before slipping the simple band onto her finger.

And back into the embrace they went.

Silently Ren thanked his radio show, and Rey's old crush on Poe.

If it weren't for that whole situation, the two wouldn't be standing here.

Now engaged.
