Battle Cry - Part 6

Hadraniel stands his ground against the four Archdemons challengers, Beelzebub, Asmodeus, Sathanas, and Abaddon. Each of them is powerful in its own right, but Hadraniel has the upper hand with his new transformation. Although he has not yet tested it out, the hesitation sparked on their faces telling him something else.

The Archdemons launch a coordinated attack on Hadraniel, but he can fend them off with his newfound powers. His wings crackle with electricity as he darts around the battlefield, striking at his opponents with lightning-fast blows. The Archdemons are surprised by Hadraniel's sudden transformation and struggle to keep up with his speed and agility.

Looks like title and name are no longer deciding factors for strength. None of the Archdemons can scratch him one bit as they puff hard parrying all of the attack coming in their direction. All four of them, at the same time, are being simultaneously assaulted by Hadraniel. There is not a single breath left to spare as the Archdemons have to heighten their senses by removing their ability to breathe.

Beelzebub tries to outmanoeuvre Hadraniel with swift strikes, but Hadraniel's speed and reflexes prove too much for him. Hadraniel anticipates Beelzebub's every move, and with a quick flick of his wrist, he disarms Beelzebub with his dagger. In a split second, Hadraniel seizes the opportunity and lands a powerful blow, sending Beelzebub flying across the battlefield. Sadly, Hadraniel is not able to scratch him with that blow as Beelzebub is still quick to shield himself from the blade.

As Beelzebub struggles to get up, he realizes that he has underestimated Hadraniel's power. He thought that Hadraniel was just like any other Angel, but he was wrong. Hadraniel's new transformation has made him almost invincible. Beelzebub grits his teeth and tries to stand up, determined to continue the fight. However, Hadraniel does not give him a chance to retaliate. Hadraniel lands a barrage of blows on Beelzebub, leaving him with no choice but to retreat.

[Boom!]

As Beelzebub retreats, Hadraniel takes a moment to catch his breath. He knows that the battle is far from over. There are still three more Archdemons to face, and he cannot let his guard down. Hadraniel looks around the battlefield, his eyes scanning for any sign of movement. He knows that the remaining Archdemons are watching him, waiting for their chance to strike. With a deep breath, Hadraniel readies himself for the next battle, knowing that it will be even tougher than the last.

Just like how he anticipated, Asmodeus charges towards Hadraniel with determination in her eyes. But Hadraniel's transformation grants him a newfound resistance to holy weapons, rendering the stolen blade useless. With a swift counter-attack, Hadraniel disarms her and sends her stumbling backwards.

But the same thing happens to him when he realises that the blade in his hands disappear. Asmodeus is cunning enough to teleport his blade away to slow his combat power down. When she tries to regain her footing, Hadraniel's sudden attacks leave her no room to breathe. In the end, Hadraniel lands a decisive blow, striking Asmodeus down to the ground.

As Hadraniel hovers victorious over Asmodeus, he cannot help but feel a twinge of sympathy for her. He knows that Asmodeus was once a powerful angel who fell from grace, and now she serves as one of the Archdemons. Hadraniel wonders if there is any way to save her and the other Archdemons from their path of destruction. However, he knows that he must protect the heavens, and that means defeating his enemies, no matter how much he may pity them.

Hadraniel takes a moment to catch his breath before turning his attention to the remaining two Archdemons. He doubts that they will be even tougher to defeat, still, he is determined to emerge victorious. Hadraniel's transformation has given him newfound confidence, and he feels invincible. With his wings crackling with electricity and only his fist available at the ready, Hadraniel charges towards the next Archdemon, the one set in his sight. Sathanas.

Sathanas tries to overpower Hadraniel with brute strength. But Hadraniel's speed and agility allow him to dodge Sathanas's attacks with ease. Hadraniel's lightning-fast strikes land blow after blow, gradually wearing down Sathanas's defences. In a final, desperate move, Sathanas swings her mace with all her might, but Hadraniel anticipates the move and seizes the opportunity to land the finishing blow.

As Sathanas falls to the ground just like the others, Hadraniel takes a moment to reflect on his victory. He knows that he has overcome another one of the formidable Archdemons, but he also knows that he cannot let himself drown in pride. Hadraniel has come too far to let his guard down now. He has to keep his focus and determination to defeat the last Archdemon, Abaddon.

Hadraniel turns his attention to Abaddon, the final of the four Archdemons challenging him. He can feel the tension in the air as Abaddon prepares for their showdown. Abaddon, wielding a bladed chain, circles Hadraniel, looking for an opening. Hadraniel is ready for anything, but he knows that Abaddon is a fierce opponent. As the two warriors engage in battle, the sound of clashing metal echoes across the battlefield. A battle of wit between the bladed chain and a new profound armour.

Abaddon tries to keep his distance from Hadraniel, lashing out with quick strikes from a safe distance. But Hadraniel's transformation grants him increased range and speed, allowing him to close in on Abaddon with ease. Hadraniel dodges and weaves through Abaddon's attacks, gradually wearing him down with relentless strikes. In a final, decisive move, Hadraniel disarms Abaddon of his chain by grabbing onto it directly and tugging the user close to him.

Hadraniel's lightning-fast strikes are matched by Abaddon's skilful dodges and counterattacks. It is a fierce battle, but in the end, Hadraniel emerges victorious. With all four Archdemons defeated, Hadraniel can finally breathe a sigh of relief. But he knows that his battle is far from over, and he cannot stop from remaining vigilant, ready for whatever comes his way.

One thing that confuse him is that he did not hear any of them lashing out at him during their duel. Or maybe, he just shuts down all of the unwanted noise so that he can focus on beating them. Yet, there is one thing that he regrets even after the victory. Not being able to kill any of them.

Hadraniel is not sure, whether it is pity that he is showing or it is just a flaw he has ever since he was created by God. Even back in the Great War, not a single Demon was ripped out of their soul by his hands. Along the vicinity of the battlefield, Angels and Demons are still going on with one another taking each other's life as if they were replaceable.

Winning here does not mean that the War is over, nor will it change the present. Even if the future could be saved, the twisted past they are carving now will forever mark the dark truth in the history of both Angels and Demons.

Hadraniel cannot help but wonder if there could have been a different way to resolve the conflict between their two factions. He looks around at the destruction and the bodies of the fallen, feeling a heavy weight in his heart.

As he surveys the chaos, Hadraniel catches a glimpse of a wounded Demon lying on the ground. The creature's eyes meet his, and for a moment, Hadraniel sees a glimmer of understanding and perhaps even gratitude.

It is at this moment that Hadraniel realizes that maybe, just maybe, there is still hope for a different future. He kneels beside the wounded Demon and offers a hand of mercy.

[Schluck!]

But horror replies instead to him when an arrow flew grazing his helmet piercing right through the wounded Demon's skull killing him in an instant. Leaping away from danger, Hadraniel is about to be confronted by two more Demons as they slowly approach him.

"When will you stop missing your shots?" Hadraniel recognizes the voice, it is Belphegor's.

"I thought you say that you wanted an extra prey, well there's one." and this one belongs to Mammon.

The absurdity of them killing one of their own is not the sole reason that Hadraniel is stunned by them, but the way they look right now is half of the excuse. Menacing-looking armour with, a deathly blazing aura, the iconic symbol both appeared in their eyes and plate can only suggest one thing. And that is they had to undergo the Sinners Transformation while he is busy dealing with the other Archdemons.

Hadraniel takes a step back, his heart racing as he realizes the severity of the situation. He knows that the other Demon of Sins are still out there, and their whereabouts are unknown to him. The thought of facing them all at once is enough to make even an Archangel like him nervous.

He can feel the adrenaline pumping through his veins as he recalls his sword back which he should have done when he fought the four Archdemons before so he could silence them. He knows that he will need all of his strength and skill to defeat these two Demons of Sins, but he also knows that he cannot let his guard down for a single moment.

Fact no. 30: Octopuses have three hearts: two pump blood to the gills, and one pumps it to the rest of the body.

If one of the hearts that pump to the gills fails, the octopus can still live. Matter of fact, one gill for an octopus is much better than one lung for a human. However, if the main heart that pumps blood to the rest of the body fails, then the octopus will likely die. Sad.
