MRS. KIM IS HERE

The whole table fell into a deep silence as everyone shifted their attention towards Adrian awaiting his answer.

Kiaraa seemed to notice the sudden change in the atmosphere and she pricked her ears trying to see if she could understand a single word in their conversation but her attempts were futile.

Mia and Li Shen both mirrored each other's expressions, anticipating his answer. Yuna who seemed to be confused a while ago held a faint smile on her lips which no one seemed to notice before returning back to her normal calm and peaceful expression.

Adrian took quite a while to register the question in his head.

Who was she to him? The answer was simple but revealing everything now will lead to further problems. He chose to bury the truth deep in his heart rather than complicate things further until he was ready to tell her everything.

He raised his long lashes after long contemplation, slowly revealing his cold silver orbs and he turned to Liang Sheng with the same expressionless gaze.

"She's my woman, are you satisfied now?"

The way he said it... as if stating a mere fact like birds could fly and pigs cannot.

It took exactly ten seconds for his words to sink in their heads and at the eleventh-second mark the expression on Mia, Li Shen, and Liang Sheng's faces turned into that of utter astonishment.

They gaped at Adrian with widened eyes, almost bulging out of their sockets.

The culprit in question returned their shocked looks with a blank stare before returning his gaze back to his phone as if unaware of the volcano he had just erupted in their head.

Liang Sheng was the first to speak, "Big brother are you serious? Is pretty sister here really your woman?" he turned and cast a sad look at Kiaraa then continued, "I never knew you were like this big brother. You simply were too fast and yet you looked like someone who doesn't care about all this stuff back then in China."

Adrian raised his head slowly with a menacing stare, "I've made my point clear, haven't I? You wanted to know the relationship between the both of us and I have told you now make yourself useful and get lost."

Liang Sheng pouted sulkily and his expression resembled that of an abandoned puppy.

Still, with a dejected look, he stared at Kiaraa and then took a slight bow and spoke softly not caring if she understood him or not.

"Pretty sister, I'm sorry that I couldn't get to you before big brother could but I promise that I won't leave your side and I would continue to pursue you until I am fully convinced that you are going out with big brother... "

He gave Adrian a suspicious look before he continued, "...till then, goodbye for now pretty sister."

His puppy eyes were glistening and his lower lips trembled as he threw another dejected look before walking away.

Kiaraa stared at his retreating figure dumbfoundedly. What in the heavens just played in front of her?

She quickly tapped at Adrian to inquire about what Liang Sheng just said. Adrian got her hint and replied without looking up from his phone.

"He said he's sorry and he won't bother you again."

Kiaraa's brows twitched slightly, "Wait why is he sorry, did he do anything to me? What did you say to him, Mr. Kim?"

Adrian raised his head from his phone and glanced at her, "Who knows? Since you simply go about causing trouble for yourself like some stray raccoon he might have mistaken you for someone else." He shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly and returned to his activity on his phone.

Kiaraa huffed angrily. 'Will he ever stop? He just witnessed one accident and now he has classified me as a troublemaker. I have better things to do anyways than to go about troubling people.'

She seethed in silent rage and stared at the plate of chocolate in front of her. Adrian slanted her a side glance waiting for her next reaction and everyone else followed in his stare except Li Shen who now had his eyes on his phone with a serious expression that no one seemed to notice.

Adrian stared at Kiaraa calmly with a deep gaze, apparently waiting for her next act but from the looks of it, the girl seemed to be persistent in her silent anger.

Sighing softly, he was about to say something when Li Shen's voice interrupted him.

"Brother, Mrs. Kim is here."

Adrian paused for a while before shifting his gaze to Li Shen. His usual expressionless face now held a slight frown.

"Why is she here?" he mumbled softly and Kiaraa didn't know if it was ears or not but she found his cold voice to be unusually soft.

Her brows knitted, 'Who is Mrs. Kim? Could it be his... no wonder he didn't reply when I asked if he had a girlfriend. This simpleton is actually engaged... no married?'

Li Shen stared back down at his phone and replied to Adrian's question, "Well, the reason's uncertain for now but she wants you to come pick her up from the airport."

"Is France on fire? Why is she in Austin all of a sudden and besides, she has a driver for a reason," his tone was flat but there was no mistaking this time, Kiaraa could sense the softness in them.

She scoffed at his remark with crossed arms. "I know you lack basic mannerisms but she's obviously here to meet you, can't you just pick her up from the airport out of courtesy."

She voiced out and threw a piece of chocolate in her mouth. Adrian spared her a glance before looking at Li Shen.

"Make her stay in the airport for an hour then you go pick her up. I have work to do," he stated sharply and got up to leave.

Kiaraa's frown deepened and she stared at Adrian with a darkened gaze. "Who makes their girlfriend wait in the airport for an hour?"

Adrian who was about to walk away paused at her question. He turned and raised a brow at her, "Girlfriend?"

Li Shen smiled and almost fought back a peal of laughter with an amused look.

At Adrian's question, Kiaraa nodded confidently, "Yes Mr. Kim. Why make your girlfriend wait in the airport for such a long time?"

"And they said you have a high IQ," Adrian scowled indifferently, "I don't have the leisure to explain things to you but Mrs. Kim is my father's wife."

He stared at her shocked expression for a while before turning to Li Shen, "Watch over her," he pointed at Kiaraa before he continued, "And make sure you take Mrs. Kim to a hotel," he ordered abruptly and gave Kiaraa a final glance before turning to leave.

Li Shen smiled, he knew the reason why Adrian asked him to keep Mrs. Kim at the airport for an hour. By the time the party would be over it would be an hour then he could go and pick up Mrs. Kim from the airport but as long as Adrian was busy with his work, he couldn't leave Kiaraa alone until he is sure that she was with someone safe.
