IN THE STORAGE ROOM(1)

Mia was the first to break the silence after Adrian left. She broke into an uncontrollable fit of laughter and Kiaraa glared at her.

"OMG!!! I just witnessed a thrilling K-drama episode. Honestly, I was planning to go to the cinema by the weekend but I think I already had my fill," she said with a huge grin and when she felt that she was able to control her laughter she burst into laughter again.

Kiaraa eyed her friend with a vicious gaze and Mia had no other choice but to bite her tongue but even at that she still had to force herself to quell her laughter.

Kiaraa ignored her and resulted to pressing her phone. If not that she had to be with Adrian for protection, there was no way she would consider being at a party and that too, Claire's party.

She hissed and her only thought was why Adrian wasn't here so she could vent her anger on him. As she was fuming, she got a message on her phone.

Thinking it was from her IT team, she quickly opened the message but she was momentarily stunned when she found that it was from an unknown number instead.

Her relaxed expression shifted and her worries kicked in instantaneously as she read the message inwardly.

Her heartbeat quickened but she immediately controlled her expression and stared up at her friends before excusing herself with the excuse of fixing her makeup.

"Queen you're not even wearing makeup just lipgloss," Mia stated and Yuna nodded in agreement.

Kiaraa almost had the urge to hit herself in the head and then came up with a plausible excuse.

"I had lipgloss on until a certain someone cleaned it off on my way here, now I have no other choice but to re-apply it. Besides, I want to use the washroom, must have had too many chocolates earlier."

She hurriedly spoke in one breath and scurried away out of the party before anyone could stop her.

As she walked through the long hallways of the hotel, she was about to bring out her phone to make a call to her team when she realized that she had left it on her table.

She cursed under her breath but she couldn't go back now. If she did then she would be questioned again, rather she continued moving towards the elevator.

As soon as she stepped into the elevator, she felt her heartbeat quicken involuntary. She quickly punched in the number for the first floor and then closed her eyes as the elevator began moving.

She massaged her temples and took deep breaths to calm down her nerves.

'Just a few days have passed and now I'm running for my life as if I stole some sort of national treasure,' she grumbled inwardly and took another deep breath.

Her heartbeat still remained fast-paced and she could swear that if things continued like this, her heart will burst out of her chest.

Soon, the elevator reached the first floor and she hurriedly stepped out finding her way to the parking lot with her gaze still wandering around the hotel, hoping and wishing that she could catch sight of a certain silver-haired but she couldn't get a glimpse of him.

She walked into the parking lot with a quickened pace and her gaze wandered around trying to find the room in which she had seen some men roll some boxes into while she was arguing with Adrian earlier.

When she found it, she walked towards the door and surprisingly the door wasn't locked which she found weird. Just a while ago, she found some security men guarding the door heftily and now the place was empty with the door ajar.

She could only guess that whoever sent her the message must have ordered the men to leave which was the most reasonable explanation she could come up with.

As she always did, she scanned her surroundings, seeing no one around, she took off her diamond earrings and dropped them at the side of the door before stepping into the room.

The whole place was dark as soon as she shut the door but with squinted gaze, she could make out some boxes. The place seemed to be the storage room for the hotel.

She left the door and started moving, her steps were slow and steady to avoid hitting any of the boxes. Still, with a squinted gaze, she managed to find her way towards the stairs that led underground.

The whole scene felt familiar to her. Just remove the boxes and replace the whole room with a brightly lit and expensive toilet then it would feel like she had been taken back to the moment she was almost killed at the party.

Thinking of the party, she then remembered Adrian. If she had her phone she would have sent him a text and she couldn't find him. She couldn't tell the rest people where she was in order not to put them in danger. The last thing she wanted was for them to be dragged into her own mess.

She knew that Adrian would probably ridicule her if she got into trouble again but this time she had no choice. The situation called for it.
