Destiny

The plan was simple. Rain took care of their penetration into the lab. She used her influence as a good student of the institute to convince the sensei's, scientists and guards in the lab that she was sent by the grand sensei to inspect something there. The timing was right, because at that time, the grand sensei had gone into his ninety two hours meditation and did not condole any form of disturbance whenever in such state so there was definitely no one to verify from if she was actually telling the truth and with her virture of being a good aspiring ranger, and for the fact that she had being sent by the grand sensei on errands concerning the lab before, they simply let her in.

Immediately she got in, she took her time to inspect all the security cameras there and where they were located also, she thought of strategic ways she could take them out or at least disable able them by the time they come to execute their plans. She walked round the counters where chemicals were sampled and looked at them all intently while she still comported herself and acted like she was actually sent in an around, not loosing her gaurd and not looking like she was snooping around.

She was still in the middle of her observations and strategical plan execution before she was cut short when she heard her name abruptly.

"Rain Flake"

It was a wisphere and it was coming from the other end of the counter she stood behind.

She looked around her and saw how busy everyone in the lab was. They should be actually, preparations where being made for their mutation which was in no time.

She shrugged and went back to what she was doing she did not want to drag unnecessary attentions to herself so that she won't leave her mission half way. She must just be hearing things, of course no one would be in the mood to play hide and seek with her here. Everyone seemed busy in all they were doing and they could barely notice her so she might just be in her wildest imagination.

"Hmuph" she sighed and shook her head a bit. She decided to move away from the counter where the chemicals were sampled to the division of the lab where they were formed and tested. She has never been in there before but she could sure give it a try and hoped they would let her in even though it was purely restricted from aspirants of the institute.

She made to take a step to the division but was stopped by the same wisphere again.

"Rain Flake"

This time, the voice was vivid and a bit louder than before. She was now sure there was someone there calling to her. She looked around again to still meet every one bust but the voice came again.

"Rain Flake".

She now decided to go check it out. She walked to the end of the counter to find a door there. It was creaking like it has just been used and it was slightly open like it was beckoning on her to come enter the room it opened to. She gave it a second thought and looked round her again to make sure no one was watching her and luckily for her, no one was. She took a deep breath before slidding her self through the slightly open door to meet who was calling her.

*Bang!*

The door was closed immediately she went it in and the room went dark suddenly.

Rain felt scared but she could surely do better than scream. She took her fight stance and got ready for action but instead of that, the bulb above her twitched few times and the light finally back on. She heaved a sigh of relief but still had her gaurd on.

"Rain Flake"

The voice of a grown male made her jolt a bit and turn around to finally meet the owner of the unfamiliar voice.

He looked like he was in his early fifties. Actually, she could tell by the bit of wrinkles on his face and even though his voice was very unfamiliar, his face looked very much like some one she knew but she was not sure who.

She stood up straight and gave his face a long stare while she paid no attention to what ever he was going to say again. She kept the stare on as she tried to recall where she had seen it before not just because it seemed familiar, but also because she had this positive feeling about the man before her now.

"Rain Flake?"

He called again, waiting for her response but by the look on her face, he could tell she was not listening to him at all.

He sighed a bit and then moved closer to her before speaking again.

"Are you not Rain Flake?"

He voice was a bit louder this time and his tone was authoritative. It did the work. It woke Rain from her daze and got her to speak again.

"Yes... Oh yes I am Rain Flake sir" she answered with a shaking voice, she tucked her hair behind her ear before speaking again. "And you are?" she asked hoping he would answer her and free her mind from its futile search of his memory.

"We have not met before, have we?" he asked rhetorically, stretching his hand to get a hand shake from her. She took his hand and felt a strange chill from his touch. She definitely knew this man but from where? And the smile he was giving her did not help matters at all. It was this cheerful smile you give to a friend or someone familiar. Now things where becoming really odd.

"I think we have sir" she tried to say. "You look kind of familiar" she narrowed her eyes.

"Of course I do miss Rain" folded his arms and straightened his back. "I have heard a lot or should I say a quantifiable amount of facts about your keen relationship with my son"

"Your son?"

Rain looked very confused.

"Yes Rain and I must say I am not disappointed at what I see. A very trusted aspiring ranger to the extent of having access to the lab on the grand sensei's name and also gifted the honor of owning the best syringe number in this set of mutated rangers. Your syringe number is the best with the highest confidence rate of making a very powerful mutant. I created all the mutation solutions and trust me when I say that the power you are going to possess in days to come won't be something you can easily control. It is something rare, something that has be never been tried for ages now. I decided to give it a shot, to recreate the formular and bring such a very powerful mutant back to life and you my dear are the one I deem fit to bear such power. You are a very wonderful and special person and I wish my son no other female acquaintance than you" he gave her the cheeky smile again.

Rain understood nothing of all he just said. What did he mean by all these? Why and how was she special? Who was this his son that she had a keen relationship with? Who was this man anyways? She felt lost.

"I am so sorry sir" she took a few steps backwards. "I don't think I know you or your son and besides, what have I done to deserve such special treatment from you. Having the best mutation solution in my name is not something I think I deserve. There are other aspiring rangers, who are definitely stronger and more capable to weuld such strength than I am. Why me then?"

" Why you?" he scoffed." The only person to answer that question is my son. Ask him why he choose you"

"I don't even know who he is sir" she shook her head in utter confusion. "I don't know who your son is and I don't think we have met".

"I would have loved to reveal my identity to you but..." he bowed his head a bit before raising it again. "I am not even supposed to be seen by you, that is why I brought you to this discreet place. You must not tell anyone about this conversation, not even my son. No one must know miss Rain. It is a matter of life and death".

"What is Mr? What is a matter of life and death?" she asked with desperate eyes.

"You Rain are going to be a light mutant the second in all of trivenian history..."

"What?" she did not wait for him to finish before letting out her exclamation. "You made my syringe that of the light mutant? How do you expect me to weild such power?"

"You can Rain! I am sure you can" he said in confidence.

"How exactly?"

"I recreated the formular and I made it in respect to your DNA. You only would be capable to weild such strength and I have simplified the solution that your DNA would be superior over the mutation" he paused a bit and then looked into her confused eyes with care. He drew closer to her and put his both hands on her shoulder before speaking again. "I have a reason for what I did Rain. This is your destiny Rain and I believe in you. You must leave now before they begin to look for you. Remember, this is your fate and it is your duty to fulfill and mind you, you and you alone can".

At his last words, a man walked into the room through the wall casually and took him in there with him as well and they simply went out of sight, leaving her there to ponder on his words...
