Chapter 173: Arias Vs The Justice League Part 2

Following Arias's order, Harley didn't delay raising her bat at setting her gaze for Black Canary's neck.

"Goodnight birdy!" She happily yelled before swinging with all her might.

However, just as the bat was about to make impact, a green semi-transparent structure appeared from behind and struck Harley, launching her into a wall.

"Canary!" Green Lantern called out as he rushed to help. But in the same way he obstructed Harley, Arias furrowed his brows and chose to obstruct him.

Without warning, Green Lantern felt a powerful force grip him and launch him into the ceiling.

"Argh!" He huffed out in pain but his composure remained as he willed his ring to strike back.

This time it was a large green hammer that formed above Arias. But same as before, he gave no indication of worry toward any attacks cast toward him.

He simply chose to play his role and dodged right, while pretending he lost focus over his telekinesis, freeing Lantern in the process.

Seeing what he felt like a weakness, Green Lantern regained his confidence and warned, "it's over, don't make this any harder and just give up. You can't fight the entire league."

Arias smirked at this warning and used his telekinesis to recall a shaken up Harley to his side before replying, "perhaps not, but I can keep you busy."

A look of caution appeared on Green Lantern's face as he heard this, but before he could react, Canary and flash were raised off the ground using Arias's telekinesis before getting thrown towards Green Lantern.

Using this brief distraction, Arias began to "retreat" away from that particular position. But Lantern who quickly cushioned his companions was quick to fly after him, providing a telepathic warning to the others. "Markovic and Harley are on the run, flash and canary need to be looked at Asap too."

Green Lantern was quick to catch up but Arias continued to hurl anything that was remotely movable toward Lantern, making his flying tough within such tight halls.

But before Arias and Harley could expand the gap, Green Arrow's familiar figure appeared from behind a corner with his bow already drawn. Seeing this, Arias reacted quick and urged Harley, "Shoot, quick!"

As if by reflex, Harley grinned and drew her gun at an amazing speed before firing shots at Green arrow who had no choice but to dodge.

However, this didn't disturb his form as while he was dodging, he let an arrow fly. This proved to be useless once again as Arias simply redirected it towards the approaching green lantern.

Not knowing what it would do, Green Arrow shielded himself behind a large thick green wall by instinct. Sadly he couldn't process things as fast as Arias who shifted the arrow again over the wall and down to Green Lantern.

Boom!~

The arrows tip flashed before a bright light emerged from it along with an ear piercing sound, very similar to a flash grenade.

With Green Lantern momentarily out of the picture, Arias looked toward Green Arrow and halted his movements before giving Harley a nod.

Without hesitation, Harley shot Green Arrow's legs. "Agh!" Causing him to yell out in pain.

Harley though enjoyed this sight, "Geez, don't be such a whittle baby, there's more where that came from! No more playing with arrows for you." She wildly declared before shooting at Green Arrow's arm.

"Ugh!!" Once again he grit his teeth and yelled out in pain. Soon after Harley was about to shoot at his other arm when suddenly a batarang flew past and disarmed her.

Batman appeared from behind and with him, Dr. Fate and Superman. Arias inwardly snickered at this sight but remained unfazed by their appearance. 'I suppose I can end my little act here. This should be enough for the moment.'

A smile crept up on Arias's face as he looked at Harley and sighed shaking his head while raising his hands into the air. "Stand down Harley."

He then turned his gaze back to the trio that appeared and looked at them with feigned hate, "Tsk, I should've known, at the end of the day the so called independent heroes are nothing but the governments hounds."

Superman looked at the bleeding Green Arrow and immediately rushed over, his gaze also carried anger as he pulled away from Lantern and looked ready to punch Arias. But, "Stop!" he was halted from doing so by Batman, who looked more surprised than angry.

Superman looked at Arias, his rage visible and apparent as he warned. "You're gonna pay for all you've done, by spending the rest of your life in prison. The moment you try to escape I'll break your legs and arms the same way you-"

"Superman that's enough!" Batman spoke out once again, his gaze firm as it locked on with Superman's.

Superman said nothing more and just carried Green Arrow, just as Green Lantern was shaking off the effects from the arrow earlier.

But while Superman was hovering away, Arias replied, "Pay? All my actions have done is make life better and safer for many, if anyone should pay, it's you and your useless league. But don't worry, I'll definitely be coming to collect, with interest."

A smirk appeared on the corner of Arias's mouth, making Superman all the more angry but he simply chose to walk away and ignore Arias.

Meanwhile Batman got closer and looked at Arias with suspicion, "I'm surprised you didn't see this coming."

Batman didn't believe Arias came here defenseless, hence he had prepared many ways to deal with him, sadly none of them got employed as Arias gave up far too easily in his mind, and that unsettled him.

Arias's smirk vanished as he stared at Bruce with furrowed brows. "Oh, I saw it coming, but without me here, many children would've died, so what if you caught me? The truth will eventually come out, that the league are nothing more than the hounds of a scummy government who don't wish to see their people truly prosper."

This words shook the mind of Bruce, causing his earlier suspicion to shift and bring up new questions. Was Arias really willing to get caught just to save the children? If so, then despite his extreme methods, it meant there was a chance he was being targeted by the government. And that small chance worried Bruce.

Seeing Bruce not reply, Arias chuckled and mocked further, making sure to sell this image of a character who cared about bettering the lives of many.

"What? Is the guilt already setting in?" Arias asked, in a low but mocking tone. "You talk about doing wrong and killing to achieve what I have but civilization was built without killing? Hmm? They mask all the horrendous atrocities they've committed, fooling you and an entire nation but soon, that mask of there's will be broken and I'll be there, standing on the pieces, while the world spits on your names. This isn't a threat, this is a warning, I hope you can realize the difference before it's too late."
