Time Flies

"Dying Light, in position. Target in sight. Over." A cute childish voice was heard over a radio.

"Fluffy tail, in position. Over." An equally cute and childish voice responded to the first.

"Master, Fenrir here not over there?" This time a slightly more mature but confused voice returned.

"Nooo. Fenrir, you say "Over" at the end. Over." The tiny Hikari said over the radio. Even though they were sitting right next to each other...

"Why? Fenrir confused." Fenrir asked while tilting her head and dropping one of her ears.

"Because it sounds cool! Over!" Hikari said while puffing out her chest.

"Mistress! The target is on the move! Over" A small white fox on Hikari's head said while pointing below with its paw.

"Ah! B-begin operation, catch the rabbit! Fenrir! Kon!" Hikari said, standing suddenly in a panic.

"Master didn't say over…" Fenrir pouted while grabbing a hold of her tiny master with her now freed hands.

"Nevermind! Let's go~" Hikari said while pointing onwards while wrapping her other arm around her most loyal companion! Fenrir however only sighed, knowing this would end just the same as every other attempt, yet still complying with her determined master.

With that, the three figures jumped out of a tree and descended onto their supposedly unsuspecting target.

"I got you rabbit- WHA-!" Just as they were about to make contact with the target, they were all suddenly restrained in the air by long flowing locks of grayish white hair.

Hikari wasn't very surprised by this outcome. This was all apart of her perfect plan but she still felt a shiver go down her spine when she was forced face to face with the pretty rabbit lady. Hikari had always been able to vaguely tell what the woman was thinking even though she usually didn't have any expression.

Right now she seemed amused.

"Decent try, little one. However, I believe I warned you of punishment if these attempts continued, no?" The clear-eyed woman, Kaguya, said to Hikari.

Kaguya expected the little girl to feel remorseful or apologize, but instead she just started chuckling, showing no sign of fear.

"Kukuku, too bad I already have a plan for that! Get her, Fenrir!" Hikari was inwardly feeling smug about her latest plan. She had Fenrir carry her up a tree where they would lie in wait. Then, using Kon's ability to sense where people are, she would have Fenrir carry her down so she could finally capture the rabbit.

It was a foolproof plan. Except for one small detail…

"Master...Fenrir stuck…" That was of course needing Fenrir to get close in the first place also left her entangled in hair. Kon on the other hand was fine but appeared to be resting in the shade, ignoring her mistress' plight. They had played quite a bit today, and she was still young, so she needed her rest.

"Ah…" Realizing the flaw in her genius plan, Hikari mechanically turned her head towards Kaguya only to be greeted with her usually blank stare. However, to Hikari, it was an expression that screamed-

"Punishment." Was all Kaguya said.

"Nooooo~" Hikari's screams were heard across the entire shrine.

This was of course picked up by Hestia, who was currently in the Shut-in's Paradise room getting ready for her stream with Inari. The Shut-in's Paradise was the room in the shrine dedicated to all things gaming. There were multiple desktops, laptops, and gaming systems of all kinds. Entire shelves filled with cases of games, and limited edition figurines. Posters of all shapes and sizes decorated the walls. It was the room most of them spent the most time in.

"Sigh, that girl, always getting into trouble lately." Hestia sighed, thinking about the last 3 years with her beloved daughter. So much had happened in such a short time. A great deal of excitement and surprises along the way.

"Well, she's certainly made things more lively around here." Inari wryly smiled at Hestia after pausing her handheld game.

Neither of them were too worried about the noise, especially considering Fenrir should be nearby and they hadn't received a message from Kon, but they still both investigated just to be sure. Inari had ShiShi and RoRo guide them, and they all set out to collect the rambunctious child.

On the way, Hestia thought about the last few years of their lives together with a fond smile on her face. It had been difficult at first and she had much to learn, but she also had many great friends here to help her adjust. Hikari herself also brought them all closer together, and they all became a family in all but blood.

Even Kaguya didn't remain unaffected by Hikari, though the woman in question didn't realize it herself.

Case in point, the scene that Hestia and Inari walked in on was one that they would have never expected to see a few years ago.

"Ahahaha~ Pweasee~ Hahaha, I'm Sowwy, Hahaha spare meee~"

"I can't say I expected any less…" Inari said, trying hard not to laugh at the sight.

Hestia face-palmed, but even that couldn't hide her smile. Hikari was suspended in the air by Kaguya's hair while also being mercilessly tickled. Fenrir was also suspended in the air, but she seemed to have been spared the tickle torture and only had her head patted by Kaguya.

Even before Hikari was born, Fenrir was the only one that could be considered close to Kaguya in this world. Though calling them close was a bit of an overstatement. Fenrir just often sat with Kaguya when she wanted a bit of peace and quiet. They said nothing to each other, but the others could tell Kaguya had a bit of a soft spot for Fenrir from the way she looked at her chains. While Fenrir seemed to find some comfort around the woman. Perhaps because she was a goddess of the moon, Fenrir herself was unsure and didn't think too much about it.

While that was going on, she belatedly noticed ShiShi and RoRo make their way over to a close by tree and lie down next to their daughter, Kon. Normally as familiars even their children would serve Inari but Kon had been gifted to Hikari on her first birthday by ShiShi and RoRo themselves. Inari was very supportive and even helped them set up a familiar contract personally. She was always curious why her familiars were so overprotective of the little girl and figured this might shed some light on things.

That said, it was a very big surprise for all of them at the time since they hadn't even known ShiShi was pregnant, Inari included. Of course, it wasn't as big of a surprise as what happened with Hikari and Fenrir on her second birthday.

The two had been very secretive about it, but the results spoke for itself. Hikari had somehow become the master of Fenrir and gained full control over Gleipner, with the mystical chain taking on the form of a collar around the wolf girl's neck. Needless to say, Tamamo was furious at the smug Fenrir at first, but soon sulked almost daily afterward.

That is until a few months ago when she suddenly regained her vigor before mysteriously vanishing, leaving only a note saying she was going on a training trip to a place called Totsuki Academy...

"Mama~ save meee~" Inbetween her laughs, Hikari seems to have noticed Hestia and called out to her. Before Hestia could say anything, however, Kaguya appeared to be content with her punishment and ceased her tickling. She then slowly deposited the out of breath child into Hestia's waiting arms. Though, Hestia could swear she could see some reluctance on the usually expressionless woman's face.

Giving Fenrir one final head pat, she also put her down before going back to doing whatever it was she planned for the day. Hestia and Inari watched her departing figure for a moment before returning their focus on the ball of mischief.

"Hey Mama~" After she caught her breath, she greeted her mother with a hug. Hestia appeared to have no problem carrying Hikari, despite her low strength. This was due to Hikari weighing shockingly less than her size would have you believe. Almost as if gravity itself worked differently around her.

"Fufu, another failed attempt, I see. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll get her one day." Hestia said, rubbing her daughter's head.

"Muuu~ I'll get a hug from Rabbit-san one day! Believe it!" Hikari pouted while mentally dotting down another loss for her against her arch foe.

"That's my girl! But for now, let's go. You said you wanted to play on stream today, right?" Hesta questioned before being blinded by the bright smile that adorned Hikari's face seconds later.

"Yeah! Let's go, Mama~ We can play the racing one today!" Hikari replied excitedly, practically vibrating.

Hestia only smiled and carried her back to the paradise room. The last few years were definitely full of challenges and surprises, but Hestia wouldn't trade any of it away for the world.

[A/N: Shorter chapter than usual but it's all I can do for now. My new schedule is really kicking my butt right now. Once I get adjusted I can probably start putting out chapters more consistently though I might start working on another fic in the near future it probably won't be a main story.

As far as this story goes though, we'll have a few more chapters with her being 3 before she gets her memories back. It'll still take quite a while before we get to canon though. I don't feel the need to rush since I want my characters to enjoy this world a bit before moving on. So don't expect to get to U.A anytime soon.
