40 - End

Jack followed Billy who wandered around the house looking for Jack so he could get more evidence.

Unfortunately, this was hopeless as Jack needed to regenerate his energy, so Billy could only try and try again hoping for some action.

As Billy's shift approached the end he started to become desperate and worried that the ending was so anticlimactic.

After his possession, nothing else happened and the viewers have probably gotten bored and left since it doesn't seem like anything interesting was going to happen.

Billy even wanted to start provoking but he knew that wasn't a good idea since he could very well make Jack mad and harm the family.

So he could only feel helpless as his shift got closer and closer to the end.

Jack who saw Billy's hopeless face started to feel bad and he started to think about what he could do with the little energy he had to at least not let it end boringly.

'Hmmm, maybe I can fully manifest in front of the camera in the basement.' Jack thought to himself.

Jack would spend all his energy again but at least he could do something interesting for them as thanks for all the experience he had gotten from them.

Jack left Billy and came to the basement door.

He phased through the shut door and walked down the stairs to the front of the camera before he checked his system to make sure he had the buff.

Then he will himself manifest using the cameras so be had the effect of doubling his appearance time.

Jack decided to just pull some dance moves in the view of the camera as a joke before waving goodbye and dissipating since it was the end of the investigation.

James and some other tech guys that had just gotten up watched this happen from the nerve center with dumbfounded faces.

"Should we tell Billy to go down there?" One of the unnamed tech guys asked.

James hesitated a little in thought and shook his head while he said,

"No, it's about time to wrap things up."

"The family should be here in a couple of hours, We have to gather all our gear before then."

The unnamed technical guy nodded and they all went back to work.

A few minutes after that conversation James stopped the broadcast for all stationed cameras in the house.

Meanwhile, Billy was pointing the camera at himself and saying his goodbyes to the audience before stopping the broadcast and sighing in relief.

He was always a bit nervous while he was being watched by thousands of people.

After he took a couple of seconds to relax, he gathered his gear and walked to the front door.

After exiting he made his way to the nerve center and James who had just seen the shadow figure in the basement a few minutes before met him at the entrance.

"You missed the activity in the basement just before the end of the broadcast." James told Billy.

"What happened?" Billy asked curiously.

"It's pretty funny, come take a look." James smiled and pointed at a monitor in the nerve center and led Billy over.

James started playing the short clip and Billy was stunned as he stared at the monitor.

"Hahaha." James laughed at his reaction.

"The ghost has some moves." James said jokingly after he stopped laughing.

"I guess he was aware it was ending so he waved goodbye too." Billy gathered himself and said.

"Let's start gathering the stuff in the house, we'll be able to review stuff like this over the next couple of days." James said when he noticed the time.

However just before they could start the other crew members who just woke up cane in the nerve center.

"What's going on?" Zach asked as he walked in with Adam.

"Nothing was just showing Billy some stuff that happened at the end of his shift that he missed before we go pack up." James said.

"Ooooh. I'm looking forward to going over everything." Zach said excitedly.

"However, we need to pack up the family will be here in a little." He said as his excitement died down.

"Let's get to it." Zach ordered and everyone went into the house to get the cameras and other gear they left inside.

As Jack watched them start packing up he suddenly got a ding from his system.

He opened it to see what it was and was surprised.

Jack looked at the button and hesitated to press it, he didn't know what would happen and he wanted to see the family's reaction to the evidence.

He tried to will the system to close and it did but he was worried that the window would be gone so he reopened it to check.

Thankfully he saw a notification button in the top right of his system that if he pressed it would show him all the notifications he has received so h closed the system again with relief.

'Even though im curious to know what completing a haunt will get me, I don't want to leave the family for now.'

' At least before I see them react to the evidence these investigators will show them.' Jack thought as he absentmindedly watched the crew pack up.

An hour after the crew started packing up they had already finished and were waiting for the family outside their house.

Thankfully they didn't have to wait long.

David, Sarah, and Angelica arrived and the parents greeted the crew.

Angelica hid behind them and peeked out as they greeted each other and shook hands.

"Did everything go okay?" David asked.

"Yes everything is good, we have already finished packing up, but if we forgot anything and you notice something, please call to let us know." Zach said.

"Sure, no problem."

" Did you guys get any good evidence?" David inquired as he wondered about what they got.

"Plenty, trust me."

"We will go over the cameras and gather all the evidence we have before we come back to show it to you in a couple of days if that is alright?" Zach asked them.

"Please, I'm curious how much you caught." David said before giving Sarah a look.

Sarah understood what her husband wanted as they talked about it before and so she pulled a confused Angelica to the house.

"Are we safe here?" David asked as he watched his wife and daughter get out of hearing distance.

"Don't worry, from what we understand this spirit is highly intelligent and relatively friendly."

"So you are safe."

"However, I would suggest you treat it like a new family member for now even if you want it gone."

" We don't know much about the other side, we don't want to risk angering it if you don't want it here."

"It is an extremely powerful spirit and a wrong move might make it aggressive to you." Zach explained.

"Okay, I understand." David said with a solemn face.

He didn't want to risk his family.

"Well, that's about it, we will be back in a couple of days to show you the evidence."

"If the situation here changes badly please call us right away and we will do our best to help." Zach informed and comforted him with a pat on the back before he and the crew got into their cars and left.

David watched them go before he turned around and walked into the house.
