Revenge

Mr. Edward heard Leo's remark as he saw the Lady, but didn't understand why until the lady started screaming at Leo.

"You again! Are you following me now?. I'm calling the cops"

As she placed her hand into her purse to retrieve her phone, Mr. Edward looked towards Leo.

"Is this part of your explanation?"

Leo bent his head in shame.

"Yes sir, it is"

His boss nodded his head as if he totally understood the situation and rushed towards the girl to calm her down.

"Good morning young Miss. I see you must have had a fallout with my boy over there. I hope he didn't give you too much trouble"

"Your boy! He works here. That is unacceptable sir. How can you employ such a person to handle meals to be served to the public?"

Mr. Edward saw the implications of not getting on this young's lady's good side and so decided to lie.

[In a low voice]

"You see Miss, that young man had lost his mother not too long ago and he hasn't been himself ever since"

She immediately realized that maybe Leo was telling the truth about how she reminded him of his late mother. She glanced past Mr. Edward and stared at Leo while putting her phone back in her purse.

"I'm sorry. When he mentioned his late mother, I thought he was lying"

Mr. Edward wore an innocent smile but deep down he was terribly confused about what went down between Leo and this girl. But Luckily he chose the right lie.

"That's ok, I will give him some time off to get over it"

She walked pass Mr. Edward and approached Leo. She smiled at Leo, her voice now calm and smooth.

"I'm sorry about the way things went down this morning. My name's Olivia, what's yours?"

Leo was shocked. He never imagined that this rude bi** could ever be nice to anyone.

"I'm Leo, Leo Rivera"

Leo could not hide the stutter in his voice. But to the girl, it was cute.

[Chuckle]

She sat down and started going through the menu. Mr. Edward then dragged Leo with him to his office to find out what happened. After some time, Mr. Edward was brought to speed about the incident that took place on his way to work.

[HaHaHaHa]

Mr. Edward Laughed at the story and praised Leo for doing the right thing. He also told Leo how he was lucky that the girl came into the restaurant when she did. If not, he would have never believed his story.

He laughed again

Leo wasn't too happy about the whole thing. Even though it was just past 12, he was already worn out by the string of events that had occurred. He got up and left the office. But Mr. Edward called him back. He was looking more serious now.

"Leo. We live in a world where being a hero is dangerous and could even get you killed. Next time, leave it to the police to handle it. Ok?

"Yes sir, I understand"

He left the office and one of the waiters handed him a piece of paper with a number written on it.

"A female customer said I should give it to you"

Leo turned the paper around and saw Olivia's name on the other side. He smiled and assured himself that his actions that morning was worth it. He went on with his normal activities until the time for his shift ran out.

"I really need to rest. I feel like I haven't slept in days"

Leo was unaware of the abnormal growth of his fatigue. He assumed that it was due to the day's hassles.

"Hey Sara, I'm going home. I don't feel too good"

Sara had heard about what happened to Leo from the other employees.

"Ok, make sure to get enough rest"

"I'll do just that"

As he walked towards the exit of the restaurant, one of the customers forcefully grabbed his right hand. Leo was stunned as he turned to look at the seated customer. His face turned pale, it was the man he saw in the morning. He didn't see the man's face in the morning, but he knew that this was the man. The man had on sun shades and was kitted in an all-black attire. He facial features were manly with a chiseled chin and even though his entire body was covered up, it was clear that this man was muscular.

Leo was too scared to understand the words that came from the man's voice.

"Eh?"

"I said adjust your collar"

The well-built man with sun shades was now a middle aged bald man wearing reading glasses.

"Your collar is very rough, straighten it out"

Leo touched his collar and thanked the man for the help. He turned to leave wondering what just happened.

"I'm I really that tired?"

He walked down the street leading to his house. As he was approaching the alleyway where he saw those men in the morning, he began to think about Olivia and how he would try to save her again if given the chance. He completely neglected the advice that his boss had given him.

'I refuse to stand by helpless and knowingly allow another person to get hurt'

Even though Olivia was extremely rude to Leo initially, he somehow managed to look past that and was more focused on her beauty and the fact that she eventually deemed him worthy to receive her number.

'Maybe she wants me to be her boyfriend'

He was too busy praising himself to notice the man that was running towards him from the alley until it was too late.

By the time Leo opened his eyes, he was already on the ground looking up towards the 3 men that he spotted in the morning. The same 3 men that had their plans ruined by Leo had gotten their revenge by inflicting a fatal injury on Leo.
