Chapter 8 - Bad Elements

They went towards the gate from where everyone was going inside the city. "Hey, register your name and your purpose of travel" said the person sitting at the deskt without even looking up. His job is to register everyone entering the city. This is a mandatory process to keep record of everyone who entered the city. Shen was about to say something to the person when Tian said "She is with me". The man with the register looked and his glance went straight towards Shen. "Gulp" he swallowed his own saliva after looking at Shen. Such beauty is one in a million if not billions. His eyes were refusing to turn their gaze away from Shen. So he asked Tian with his eyes still on Shen, "Who are you, saying she is with you! Hey Beauty, I supervise the gate and all the people entering the city. I have quite a reputation within the city. Why don't we go out for lunch and i can help you in your work" said the registrar with a hint of greed in his eyes.

"Say that again while looking at me" said Tian with a little dark voice. He does not like these kind of people who use their position to leverage or intimidate others. "Huh, what are you-" as the registrar said these words he looked towards Tian. As soon as he looked at Tian, his mouth stopped abruptly. No words were able to come out of his mouth. It was as if he has seen something really horrifying. "Master Tian, why didn't you say that it was you. If i knew it was you, how dare i say anything to her even if someone gave me a million dollars" said the registrar and cold sweat appeared all over his forehead. He was cursing himself inwardly for not looking at Tian before speaking. "Hurry up and let us in. Else you know the consequences" said Tian with a cold expression. "Yes, yes master of course. Please go in. And Miss, i am really sorry for my rude behaviour. I hope you won't take it to heart" as registrar said this, he made way for Tian, An and Shen to enter the city. It was really unlucky day for him to encounter Tian and that too in such a bad manner.

Shen was watching all this with great interest. She was quite surprised to see that Tian would have such a side too. Tian, who was all sweet and cheerful throughout the journey had such cold expressions while talking to the registrar. This reminded Shen of herself when she was at her home planet. In everyone's eyes, she was as cold as ice but from her heart, she was as warm as the sunlight falling onto your face on a beautiful morning.

"Didn't expect you to have this side too" said Shen while looking straight in Tian's eyes. After hearing this Tian smiled bitterly. His eyes showed a hint of pain as if it was not a choice to be someone of such personality that he displayed at the entrance of the city. "Well you said you have a pretty decent family business, but judging from the reaction of the registrar it is more than just pretty decent" "Hehe, you can say that. well my family occupies 80% of all hotels in Sky City. Thus we have a pretty good stand in the city" said Tian while looking towards a large building ahead of them. "You see that building over there, that's the headquarters of our business. Let's go there first". "Well sure, but please take me to a doctor soon. I want to have myself checked for any injuries but i don't have any type of money on me" said Shen now realising that she does not have any money on her.

"No problem, i brought you here so you are my guest. All expenses will be paid by me" said Tian. "Well well, what do we have here. Such a beauty hanging around with such loser" while walking they heard a group of people commenting on Shen from a little further ahead. The person who said it was a man sitting on his bike while other 7 people were standing across him. With just a look one can realise that the was sitting on the bike was the leader of all those people. With a bandana on his head and sunglasses on his eyes, he was looking like a villain of some old fashioned gangster movie.

"Let's just ignore them. One should not pay much attention to these things. They are just Bad Elements of the society." said Tian. But his heart was full of anger. He looked at the leader to learn his facial features so that he can take care of him afterwards. He did not want Shen to see the real side of him. Shen nodded and they moved ahead of those people. They have just walked several steps ahead when the leader came from behind and said "Hey Beauty, don't ignore us like that". As he said this, he took Shen's hand and tried to pull her towards him. Seeing this Tian could not control himself but just as he was about to go forward to free Shen from the leader, he was shocked to see the scene in front of him.
