Chapter 7 - Into the City

Father and son took Shen towards the city. "Hey, i forgot to introduce myself. My name is Tian. And this is my son An" Tian said with a smile. "Hi, my name is Shen" "We are natives of this city. Where are you from?". Shen thought if she should tell them that she is from a different planet but then she thought that if she said such thing to them now they will surely think that she is completely crazy. So she said "I don't remember. I cannot recall anything of where i am from". Tian believed her as he already was sure that Shen has suffered some head trauma.

"The scenery here is quite beautiful" said Shen while looking at her surroundings. There were mountain peaks visible in every direction. The sunshine falling upon those mountain added plus points to the beauty of those mountains. The chirping sound of birds, the bustling sound of wind going through trees and the peaceful environment makes one feel that they should remain in this moment forever. Far from everything that they do not want to face. Watching this beauty of nature, one can spend their life without worrying about anything.

"The city we are going to is very near to this hill station. It is a famous tourist destination. It is off season currently so there are not many tourist here. And right now we are in middle of the forest that connects the hill station to the city. There's also a road that connects them but by road it takes four times the time to reach to the city as compared to this short cut. But since there are many wild animals in this forest, most of the people avoid this route. We were lucky that those wolves did not come inside the cave, else we would be done today" said Tian smiling bitterly. He decided not to take this path anymore as it is really dangerous.

"What do you do for a living?" Shen asked Tian not knowing how to continue with this conversation. "Hehe, actually to tell you the truth we have a pretty decent family business around hospitality in the city. I just don't like going around in vehicles. I like walking around these mountains looking at this beautiful scenery. While travelling in vehicles, one cannot appreciate this beauty much" said Tian while looking at the scenery. "Yes, that's true. Well you have a son nearly 12 in age but you yourself look no more than 25 in age. You have maintained yourself quite well" Shen said half jokingly with a playful smile on her face. The General from whom all people were afraid at her home country was talking like this. If someone from her country saw this, they would certainly not believe it. Actually she always wanted to be like normal children when she was young. Play with others, go out with friends and all. But due to her ambition to become a great warrior, she left all these attractions behind and focused on her training.

"Haha, well i am actually 25 years old. I adopted An when he was 8. I saw him crying and begging for food on the streets one day. I could not see him like that so i took him to my home. And after some months, i grew attached to him so i decided to adopt him. My parents supported me in my decision thus it was easier for me to adopt him" said Tian with a beautiful smile. Shen was quite surprised to see that she was found by such a kind hearted soul. She looked at Tian with admiration. She always liked people like Tian who always tried to help others unlike Captain Shraw who was trying to take that young girl away for his own benefit. She was able to see through Captain Shraw's intention at once when she saw him else she would not interrupt him at that time.

"Hey look over there. That's the entrance to the city we are heading to. It is a clear weather today so we can see it from here" Tian said while pointing towards a certain direction. Shen saw a gate nearly 10 meters in height through which many people were going in and coming out of the city. They walked towards that direction for another 10 minutes and finally they reached the entrance of the city. "This is the entrance to the city. This city is called Sky City because it is in middle of the mountains and is most of the time surrounded by clouds. And it is also the capital of this country. Many people come and go through this city everyday as it a major market hub. Ah, i have been away from here for nearly 2 months. It is good to be back" said Tian with a smile. No matter where you go, there is no better feeling than returning home.
