Chapter 6 - Attack of the wolves

Shen was dumbfounded. How can this be? 65 Millions Years. "Am i dreaming right now? It should be. I should have died when i fell. How can i survive? And how can i survive for more than 65 Million years. This is impossible" she muttered to herself while analysing what was going on.

While she was thinking, they heard the sound of howling of a pack of wolves coming from the entrance of the cave. "Oh no, the wolves are here. Hurry up and hide before they find us" father ran further inside the cave to hide along with his son. Shen was still in daze about the information she got from the father. No one in their right mind could believe such a thing now could they? She stood up and removed all the dirt on her. Their was thick coating of dirt on her. If it was not for her face to be free from the dirt, father and son would not have thought that it was a person instead of some large stone slab.

When the wolves came near her was the time she realised that there was a pack of wolves standing in front of her looking at her like hunters looking at their prey. Shen did not panic at all. She was the General of the army of her home country. Fighting some wolves was not big challenge for her. But just when the wolves pounced at her and she was going to fight back, a magical thing happened.

All the wolves stopped. The ones in the mid-air remained in mid-air and the ones on the ground were standing still at their position. It was like time has been frozen. Shen was even more shocked now. Just now she got the news that it has been 65 Million Years since she crashed on this planet and she was not able to fully cope up with that and now this. She wanted to ask the father what was going on so searched for the father and son. When she saw them she was shocked again because they were also sitting like someone froze them.

She went back towards wolves and realised something was even more strange. The positions of wolves have changed slightly. The wolves that were mid-air have advanced a little further and the ones on the ground have also moved a little. This gave Shen the idea that time is not still but have been slowed down to the extent that it looks like it is still. But how was time slowed down? Who have such magical powers as to slow down time. She was still thinking about this when all of a sudden everything went back normal and wolves that were in mid-air pounced towards empty air. The wolves looked towards Shen with a little fear in them. Just now she was right in front of them but now she was standing a little far.

Animals have a better instinct than humans to discover when they are in danger. They sensed the danger to their lives so they ran outside the cave. Shen was still thinking about all the things she has discovered since the time she woke up. Any sane person would go mad if they encounter such things happening to them. After a few minutes, the father and son came out of hiding to find that wolves were no longer there and Shen was standing intanct.

"Hey, where did the wolves go? Didn't they come inside the cave?" asked father rather surprised. "They came and wanted to attack me. But a rather strange thing happened. Everything was slowed down except me. I looked for you and the young boy and you two were also slowed down to the extent that i thought the time is frozen. When i went back to wolves, the time started flowing normally again. But wolves ran out of the cave without doing anything" Shen told everything honestly. She did not know anyone so there was no point of hiding any details.

"You really need a doctor right now. First you said you saw dinosaurs, then you said you crashed on earth and now you said that time slowed down for you. I really think you have sustained some head injury. Come with us. We will take you to the town to find a doctor" said father a rather worryingly. She found this young girl unconscious here and she might have suffered some trauma or head injury to see and think these things. Father was a good person from heart and was helping in nature. He could not see others suffering and would try to help them in whatever way he could.

Shen thought for a while and decided to go see a doctor. Maybe it was really true that she had suffered some head injury while crashing as she was constantly being thrown in different directions inside the spaceship. "Okay, Thank you. I am willing to go see a doctor" after saying this, all three of them got out the cave and started going towards the city.
